This was a really awesome video, thanks! There are so many different techniques for teaching the recall and most of them only describe a few points in the training, instead of working the way through the entire process like this video does. And for a newbie dog owner like myself, whilst i understand the principle and can in theory add any steps i find missing, i feel much more confident having a step by step process available that i can follow closely. So thanks!

Also very helpful video, my Great Dane is typicall very obedient with most things, he will stay when I command, sit, lay shake, roll over, basic trick shit I just winged. Glad to have a much more comprehensive video to use to teach him to come properly, that's the one thing I have trouble with. I let him out early in the mornings (off his leash, no one is around), and when I call him he gives me a look KNOWING he's being disobedient on purpose, and when I finally get him in the door he looks like a scolded child.

the goal is to reinforce without treats sometimes reinforced with treats so they know it is a desirable behaviour

This is all wrong, it's best if you explain to your dog why it needs to do things, bribing it with treats or giving positive reinforcement without explanations achieves nothing.

+Tom Greer I was shaking my head through entire video . The treats, the high pitched voice. She will create more problems down the road for that dog . I totally agree this is allll wrong.

+cecil price Really? Teaching a puppy first that it is good to come before teaching they must come causing problems down the road? Gypsy is in our other videos as an adult doing protection training off leash without treats and without high voices, therefore we would appreciate if you point out where the problem is and how this is wrong?

+Tom Greer Unfortunately, we cannot teach a dog anything about "why" it must do a command if the puppy doesn't know what the word means and why it is good to do it first. Are you suggesting we correct or yell at the puppy for not doing a command it doesn't understand first? Please explain.

+Tom Greer lol are you going to sit the dog down and ask it what it wants for lunch while you are at it?

Great tutorial, but what to do if a puppy like a Shiba Inu (10 weeks old) seats and doesn't what to come when they are outside, in the back yard., with no distraction.

I like how she is very objective about it. She seems to hint at a clear distinction between the fact that this animal is not the same as a human. "That something good is going to happen" if it comes to you; it is an animal. Not wild, persé but an animal nonetheless. Think about a squirrel; the "good thing" is getting some food from you. I think a big mistake many people make is thinking this animal is going to automatically become a part of your family as if they'll understand everything you're trying to communicate with it.

Can you PLEASE TELL ME WHAT KIND of treats you are giving her out of that bag?? I still can figure it out! Do you use dog food or real treats? Woundnt that be a lot of treats if that is was? Can ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME!

I imagine she’s using training treats. Dog training treats are really tiny but the dogs appreciate them enough. That way you can have a whole lot of tiny treats. Also they don’t take much time to eat

It is criminal to have a presenter who is so hauntingly beautiful...serious distraction is what this mermaid personifies. With those doe eyes looking at you, who the heck bothers about what she talks about "sit", and "fetch" or is it "sit" and "down"'.... anyway, we all know basic training procedures anyway, don't we?

Hi, i definitely need help. I have Goldendoodle puppy she is 5 months now, she very clever and amazing puppy. When we brought her home same week she learned to seat , to lie down when I ask her, to give a paws , to respond when I is called, she is doing all this things inside the house, but outside she is not responding when she is called. She just run away from me, nothing works, I tried with 6 different treats and with boiled chicken she just run away from me. I start being frustrated. Please help me what to do how to tech her. Inside the house no issue at all but outside ... PLEASE give me instructions what to do. Thank you.

"Best way"? Just another food luring dog trainer. Food "training" is stupid. Nauseating. Take note the dog does not give crap about the trainer. Truly sad.
