Beloved by ZZ Tops’ Billy Gibbons for its unique character and wonderful picking response. We’ll hear it in all its glory as well ass try it with various types of pickups and amps for an in-depth demonstration of its huge range of sounds!

Well I have been playing blues since the sitries, seen all kinds of vids on boxes. This is the best presentation of any units that I have ever seen. Good work. Outstanding effort.

My sister made a trip to N.Y. decades ago and brought me a Expandora that I still have. It's the version that has the switches inside on the pcb. It's one of my favourite pedals. It sounds a bit like a overdrive combined with fuzz and there is something else about the sound that is hard to describe. No other pedal that I have and I have a lot of overdrive and distortion pedals sounds like the Expandora. I guess one has to play it in person to realize what makes it so special.
You're spot on. Only thing that comes close to that overdrive but fuzz hybrid sound, in my experience, is the RAT, which also loves the harmonics but it's not the same. The Expandora has it's own delicious flavour!
i like the snarly trebley bite it has, ithink it would sound great with my top hat clubroyal and tweed amp....
I thought everyone forgot about this pedal! I'm not a zz top guy but I always thought this was a cool pedal. I own an op amp big muff and I'm not into smashing pumpkins. Some tones are like unopened treasure chests. ..

I bought one of these yrs ago. I can’t get that much gain out of it. Maybe I need to play it with more amp’s distortion. The forbidden fuzz is exactly that. The jhs kilt is an exact copy. V1 with the internal switches makes zero sense to me. V2 has the dip switches like yours on the outside.

Might be a stupid question but I'm a newbie. Would this work on an acoustic guitar?
If your acoustic guitar has a pickup, yeah, it would work... it probably wouldn't sound too great, but you never know!? 😈
What do you think about the 3 MissingLinkAudio ZZ Eliminator pedals?
