I hope you keep up the videos, It's nice to see the dealers perspective, dont see many videos of this quality on youtube, keep it up lee, looking forward to the videos you've got coming.
Nice we car Lee like you said everybody likes a corsa there cheap and practical. Good ta see a honest man selling a car fixing things rather than taking short cuts like most dealers nowadays lol. Good on ya good video 📹
I love a Corsa got one now it's 14 years old but you got careful with the subframe does rust away the other problem I found on these engines is the oil filter housing is supposed to hold a cup of oil for the top end when you start the engine. what happens is a valve inside the oil filter fails drains the oil back into the sump overtime it will damage the top end of the engine. And the thing you must check is the fan for the engine sometimes it don't work sometimes the head gasket goes before the car will tell you it's too hot.
Geat video Lee, just traded in a Ford Mondeo Titanium x, 2011 EO11ARX full-service history & 12 months MOT advisory free & recent service, cam belt & water pump is done, new DPF injector front tyres are new, tracking done. it's going to end up at BCA Nottingham or Manheim. A good car to watch out for, I just got something a bit bigger. Worth a punt
I've got a Corsa 1.2 se 3 door in white 13plate and to be honest it has been a nightmare in the two years I've owned it . Paid 3350 for it full history 99 thousand miles in the first year I owned it a thousand pounds in bills everything from coil springs water pump suspension dampers went .just got on top off it I was driving steady away I'm 53 no boy racer the engine started losing power and banging 😮 took it to two mechanics both said new engine.the car was now worth 500 quid so rather than pay out for another car I sourced a low mileage engine off eBay for 850 75 delivery 400 fitting so another 1300 quid it seems ok now but I've ploughed that much money into it I'd be daft to sell it but I'm waiting for something else to go wrong. 😢
Love the fact Lee that your reputation is paramount to you and your business m8...like u say get the chain done on it and its piece of mind 4 u and the next owner plus if you can make between £800-1k profit by the time u sell it its been another nice little earner...Great picking from the auction and u can't beat an experienced eye!!!...Keep up the great work and keep the videos coming!!!...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Less of the old people Lee! I always had the door protectors on but can’t now as door jams are so tight on new cars. If you can get £2495 that will be a good buy.
👍👍Sorry barry but they are a little old school, do you remember them anti lighting rubber strips thats used to hang of the back of cars in the 80s and 90s 😁
@@carukchannel I remember them haha! A bit like Bob and Shiela windscreen sunstrips in the 70's and headlamps with eyelashes now, fads that loads had but nobody needed!! The Corsa is a smart little car with plenty of life left in it and hopefully a sweet profit.
My first car was a 03 Corsa, nice and quiet on test drive, got home and the chain was rattled like a rattle snake! I Ended up putting a chain on it, I bought the car privately.
Never been a huge fan of Vauxhall but i bought one of these as a cheap run around, 59 plate ex rental car with 100k miles on it, had it for 6 years put another 60k on it and was ridiculously reliable, so much so i've got a 16 plate one atm, great little cars in my experience.
Great “pt.2” on the Corsa, Lee - I reckon the only reason she was sent through the Auction was the noisy chain on warm, but why would the brakes be tearing themselves apart? 2,495 is not an unfair price,so a few beers in it for ya ! Keep ‘em comin’ JCHK
Can not believe Vauxhall was never held responsible for them chains. Don’t think Iv ever heard a Corsa that doesn’t have a bad chain. Had one myself, changed and still rattled 😂
I've had three Corsa D's, 1.2, 1.4, timing chain changed 5k before the recommended interval, regularly serviced, looked after, no problems with any of them
I’ve noticed these get very noisey chains when oil is low (obvious reason) top them up and they’re sweet. As they leak commonly it’s no wonder they get noisier.
Keep up the good work , getting on for 15,000 subscribers and 2 million views in the channels short life. Good honest view of everyday life in the trade.
Thanks for this video update on the white Vauxhall Corsa ! N.B. I too remember the aftermarket Door Protectors obtainable from Halfords etc having fitted them, a dark brown set, to the doors of my 1st Car, an October 1981 D.V.L.A. registered, Russet Brown, Austin Maxi 2L 1748 c.c. single carburettor version with Vehicle Registration Mark ( V.R.M. ) FFG 212X & the aftermarket Anti-Static Static Electricity Conducting Strips hanging from the rears of cars too ! 37•5 years ago when I bought this car in September 1985 for £1450 cash from my mate Mick's father, in my hometown in northern West Sussex !
Seems like a real bargain, well found Lee. Remember, those door protectors used to come in white too. Careful prising out and a little touch up, it should look great.
Nice little Corsa that to be fair despite and sounds like you'll get a nice little return on it - this thing will fly out the door when it's all done. Nice one Lee!
Lassa tyres are pretty good, midrange rather than budget. Made in Turkey by Bridgestone using their previous years compound and tread pattern, so do well in testing I had them for years back in the day when I couldn’t afford premium 👍🏼
Yes I have, I intend to do a video there this year bud. To be honest its not the best place to buy but I have had a few winners from there over the years
I bought there for years , I’m talking 1990’s when d reg escorts and e reg sierras were everywhere up until 2014 when I went into classic cars, Darren and Dave are great when you know them but they will pull your pants down if you don’t . It took me a few years to get in there and know the drivers and the dealers who put stuff in and I had so many cars from slaters and m53 ford who were the main dealers putting stuff in. I must say I made a load of money outta there
These are good cars to sell but they used to suffer with water getting in the ECU,i had it happen to one of mine, done allsorts of strange things, but even after getting it fixed i still made a good profit.
I owned a 1998 Corsa that I bought for £125 scrappa 10 years ago got it back on the road ran it for 6 years sold it for £500 with 130,000 on the clock & the bloke I sold it to ran it for donkeys years always a mistake getting rid of that motor
Evening Lee my Mondeo EO11ARX is in the Manheim 10 o clock auction tomorrow, in Birmingham I was hoping to watch it go through, say by to it. Bad news spoke to Manheim, it's trade only, they won't even let me know what it goes for. If you are on this site, could you let me know what it goes for please? It's worth a bid, i just got a Ford Kuga
As soon as you mentioned the door protectors from the olden days I instantly remembered those weird static things that used to trail on the floor.,,! I hope this brings you a tidy a sum, how’s the the c4 engine coming along?
Hi jon, the replacement engine is now in the c4, will be off to paint next week all being well, so expect a video on the finished article towards the end of the month. Thanks for watching Bud 👍👍
Good honest assessment and good to see the issues all being listed to be dealt with before sale. The timing chain seems to be a common issue on these cars. Would have expected better from GM / Opel. Great channel
Just a question, would a car fail an MOT with a bend like that on the door because of sharp edges? Or is that only where someone would likely graze themself
Hey Lee, what is it with parcel shelves? My son brought a 4 year old fiesta from car giant and it was missing one, they did post one to him after purchase, free from Ford. Glad your busy, buying the motors so looking forward to new vids. Nice to see your channel growing, 15k subs next week? Ps. Citroen pt 3? 🤞
Hi twiz yes pushing for 15k next week got a couple of videos coming out next week and another auction video so should take on some new subs. As for Part 3 of citroen the old engine is now out and replacement is going back in tomorrow all being well. Suspect to have it up and driving again this week. The off to paint to sort the wing and then I will be finally be able to do part 3 all done (hopefully) 👍👍
@@carukchannel the reason for your channel doing well is cos you down to earth and tells the story of auction, repairs, cost, sales and the bits in between. Glad you getting on with the Citroen and look, finally, look forward to pt 3 for that. Good luck buddy 👌
Interesting video, I have a 2013 Corsa 1.2 SXI which has just had the ABS pump replaced ( another common fault on these cars) Cost £400 pound for the part alone before labour. It's only done 49,000 miles. Looks tidier than your car on the bodywork and interior. I only use it as a runaround to work and the shops which are not far away. I'm wondering now whether to get rid of it judging from the big bill I have just paid, or hang on to it a bit longer.
Hi kev, that's very expensive for a replacement abs pump on a corsa D, as you say they are very common and we must do 8-10 a year. We charge around £150 supply and fit. Other than abs pump failing and timing chain there is not much else that goes wrong with a corsa to warrant changing it now buddy.
For anyone buying a Corsa of this era buy the 1.2 version as the 1.4 is awful its actually slower than the 1.2 and has head gasket issues , Vauxhall never the best at QC anymore sadly
Has to be worth £2495 not been greedy there at all, someone probably try and get £100 at least of it for a well sorted 11 plate Corsa , infact Lee I wouldn't take a penny less than 2400 , someone will definitely have peace of mind with 12 MOT no doubt your giving with it.
Ive never really had Vauxhalls but have just bought a 2008 1.6 Zafira which has only done 83k for £1k as a cheap runabout. What are they like overall ? If i am to keep it i would want a full service done on it but at the moment im unsure as ive always been a Ford man
They are ok, the 1.6 is not to bad as its a cambelt driven engine so no noisy chain to worry about. Main issues on zafira 1.6's is the coil packs can fail (cheap to fix and very simple to fix), oil 5w30 dexos 2 used gets very sludgy, they need regular oil changes. Also rear door wires can break causing electrical issues. I dont mind buying and selling them as they are popular 7 seater. I would never buy a diesel model 👍👍
