Agar-agar kering (dry agar) in Malaysia. People usually make this during Eid festival to serve as candy for visitors at home. Elders like to make it :)
My mom used to make this a lot in rainbow colors. The outer layer of dried agar (what we called this) is crunchy because of the sugar. We usually make a huge bunch of this only on special occasion because of the long drying process. Brings back my childhood memories :)

Nandini Ghosh Save yourself a headache! Do not use gelatin from personal experience. I knew full well that gelatin wasn't recommended but I decided to test it out to see what would happen and it was terrible. It was almost a slime texture and completely inedible.
