      Nice way of subtly revealing how a trick is done to the masses while simultaneously trying to make it seem as if you're only complementing his magic.
      You are a douche.

    • @richards.5964
      @richards.5964 9 лет назад +45

      TheCheddarMan1 Actually, you're the douche. The routine isn't accomplished by a double lift alone, so merely saying the words isn't a reveal. He was admiring his skills, just as many others in the comments. There's no need to pounce on anyone because of your seriousness.

    • @CheddarmanGeo
      @CheddarmanGeo 9 лет назад +9

      Richard S. It's about 90% of Daryl's and about 95% of other ACRs. It is 100% without a doubt a reveal and is shameful. It is so easy to see through his "compliment". Keeping magic secret is serious business.

    • @richards.5964
      @richards.5964 9 лет назад +15

      TheCheddarMan1 I'm not talking about moves. I'm talking about his performance, and that even if the routine is 90% doubles (which you yourself revealed, as well as revealing 95% of other routines), it still doesn't hold up to the fact that the real effort is in his presentation, personality, and his ability to keep the routine entertaining despite its repetition.
      Regardless of knowing the method, both a magician and a laymen are able to enjoy the performance. Nobody here is aiming to expose it, and even if anybody was, no one would care (except for you, of course).

      R U kidding ??? He can't even do a pinky count. Every time he does a double lift , he is doing a thumb count of 2 cards first and it is so obvious any body can see that , plus he is so careful turning over 2 cards that he hold them tightly which doesn't look natural. Darryl is an ok magician but he is nowhere great.

    • @xD3adKl0wnx

      Involves a deck switch and a gimmick. Pretty sure he explains how to make it on the explanation portion of the full video.. Might be on a different one though. I made one a few years back, but deck switching always made me too nervous.

    • @ivjdivfjalekvvjp
      @ivjdivfjalekvvjp 9 лет назад +14

      Kris Brockerville I see the deck switch. But I can't figure out how that gimmick works. Are the cards cut in the middle and beveled up to the center of the rope, so that when he sticks it in the middle, it comes out on top on the other side of the rope?

    • @xD3adKl0wnx
      @xD3adKl0wnx 9 лет назад +42

      its really hard to explain in text, but the gimmick deck is basically what you're describing.. the cards are cut and glued together so that there are two halves that are wedge shaped.. the only full cards in the deck at this point are those on the very bottom. the rest allow the card to be placed center and when you press it in, it slides up the inside and out the top.. the rope actually makes this easier because it hides all the seams from the cut up deck.
      they sell premade ones too it seems. www.penguinmagic.com/p/49

    Beautiful finish…. Stumped me and original. Thank you. Just also viewed Ammar’s routine and then Wonder’s routine. I personally like Wonder’s ! Inspirational, without me spending a dime.

      Devastating performances… we are a rudely spoiled bunch.
      Copperfield in a recent interview lamented how he could never get to see his old legendary performers. His next project I suggest? Employ a magic digital world chief curator and team who has five massive fire-proof mainframe servers. Create and curate every recorded digital public document on magic that ever existed, including TV, WWW, Social Media, Podcasts - the Milky Way’s galaxy of the biggest magic digital library that will be preserved and perennially built until the Lord reappears.
      What could we call the project?

      Earlier in February this year, we lost this renowned magician. I've been studying this exact ambitious card performance (I particularly like the pace and speed which makes this my favorite routine) on and off for a couple years now, and I pray that youtube does not take this gem down because I haven't got it down yet. Anyhow, Darryl's death has motivated me to carry on his legacy, as a tribute and thanks to his teaching and entertainment for decades; this is such an amazing display of skill that to have it not be performed ever again would be a shame. Of course no one can or ever will be able to pull off the smoothness because it's his own ambitious card routine, but I will keep trying. Still can't believe this idol is gone.

      Was that move called the Marlo Tilt by Ed Marlo? Or was that at the very end of this amazing trick?

    Having learnt some card magic during the lockdown it's quite interesting seeing an expert perform this routine. It's all doable, apart from that last bit with the rope. Haven't figured that out yet...

    Funny how everyone says ooh its just the double lift, but could never ever pull this off themselves. After he inserts the card into the deck and does a riffle shuffle he stacks the card to the 3rd from the top. Its called riffle stacking and is one of the hardest moves in cardistry. Good luck doing that one as the set up.

    • @kliffi96
      @kliffi96 8 лет назад +8

      Placing one card at third position is not hard at all. Especially if you are placing the first and second card one by one. The hard part about riffle stacking is for example to place one card at 4th and one at 8th position. But this is more like a gamblers move than a magicians move. The gambler needs like two aces at exactly those positions if playing poker with three mates. While such complicated positions are pretty rare in any card trick magicians do. Magicians like it simple :'D
      But i agree on your point that i'll propably never be able to do the ambitious card routine to that degree.

      Maybe it's just me, but after riffle stacking half my life I can honestly say a stack that simple would be a blessing.

      anwar mohammad If you're talking about the first insertion (giggity), it's not a riffle stack. I'm not going to say what it is because he does it so beautifully.

      anwar mohammad um...na dude. he just pushes over 2 cards on top of the selection and breaks there for a shuffle. super easy.
