I ordered my set today, thanks for making this well thought out product! My legs are going to be so happy on long trips now.
I would have liked to see you sitting on the bike using the two different positions
Would have been an idea to have the bike on centre stand, and show the foot positioning for both stationary, as it's only a quick glimpse as you ride by
Those are cool, especially cross-country, like 300+ mile trips. Great detail on the video, and it seems it would break away first. Boxer motors are strong like vaults.
Cam is becoming quite the accomplished camera man 😃👍! I’m sure it’s because he’s had an excellent teacher 😉.
Thanks for reviewing this. I was thinking of ordering the kit for a few months. I have a 4.3k km trip coming.
Cam is turning into an awesome camera man, you may have found his calling.
Love the videos Scott ....
No way would I remove my engine protection bars for highway pegs, My RT is very comfortable with standard footpegs
Just did a trip across Canada and this mod would have been absolutely treasured.
One thing is if you put your feet out there on a fall day your feet will get very cold. I had 2 socks on and was trying every position to minimize wind on my feet. In summer this would be a non issue.
For now i just stand on my foot pegs for 10 seconds to stretch out or rest my legs on the cylinder head momentarily.
Awesome CAMera work, on the fence about the product. I'd keep the crash bars and head protection and mount foot pegs on the bars instead.
If you have engine bars would it not be better to mount to those and so the header stud stress would not be an issue? I appreciate that’s not this product, but there must be something on the market?
Appreciate your thoughts! Our current design prioritizes maintaining sleek original body lines for those not interested in running crash bars. We're also developing a crash bar compatible variant designed to be more sleek and integrated than other available options. Stay tuned for updates and thanks for the input! - IRM Moto Team
If I buy an RT those will be going on there for sure (or the best option). Highway pegs are a must for a sport touring bike going long distances, for me at least.
Great job to your cameraman!!
This will be an interesting video, I am on a GS now but is considering the RT, the thing that worries me is the knee angle and highway pegs might lean me towards a change of bike.. The price is HEAVY though..
I also live in Germany and ride a 21 RT. Are you keeping the IRM highway pegs on? I also have the Wunderlich cylinder head covers and engine guards and am a little reluctant to remove them and not have the protection. Your thoughts please.
Hello Scott, I received the parts today. Only planned for a big annual tour. Unfortunately I had to pay customs additionally €135.00 - from US to Germany 😞
Wow! That is a lot 🤔 now, I know just how much customs is changing...amazing & not in a good way.
I am new here and to the RT/ I have a 21 GSA and HD Road Glide, been riding for well over 40 years... I really like your channel and have watched all of your videos... I am a little troubled that you would give these 2 THUMBS UP for a product you must remove PROVEN engine guards protection to use and by listening to you, you question the mounting to the exhaust bolts, which you know from your back ground with autos is a weak point.... while I do not want to trash this product, I see many negatives...
Just giving guys options, that's all. I don't personally care for it, and I expressed that in the video, but others may like it.
Take care,
Scott
Did you go back to the crash bars or keep the foot pegs?
Your assisten is great👍
Thank you buddy ❤❤❤❤
I just rest my legs on the injector shields or the lower frame to get a new position when needed.
Hmmm 🤔 fixing a problem that’s not there?
How does the TÜV feel about them? They seem very concerned about non approved accessories.
Nice idea, but the problem with this things is, that you are not allowed to use and Highway Pegs over here in Germany. 🤔
I just hope the footrests are of different lenghts to compensate for the different cylinder distance from the driver.
Hi, thanks for pointing that out! Indeed, the pegs have an eccentric stop which allows for adjustable distance, ensuring riders can set them at a comfortable length for both cylinder differences and leg length differences. To view this feature please see the install video on our youtube channel. - IRM Moto Team
@@IRMMoto thank you for pointing that out
On my old r12r I’d just throw a leg over the cylinder head when I needed a break
What about BMW 1300 😉
I take a 1300GS home tomorrow, keep it over the weekend and then video to follow 😁
So, have you left them on, or have the crash bars gone back on?
Crash bars are back on.
