Hey Lisa are weighted keys really necessary for piano( these are only available for med end digital piano )
Keyboards may have semi weighted keys , but do have touch response.
Will it make any difference if you want to play piano style ??
It does make a difference. I've got a Yamaha MOX 6, which has semi-weighted keys, which brings the problem that it can happen that you play notes accidentially very loud because your hand moves too fast. It is possible, of course, but if you are thinking about buying a keyboard or (digital) piano and you want to play piano mostly, I'd recommend a digital piano.
