Thank you for this! Love the shadow dragons squad and Dorian’s return even though it’s more like a shadow of what he was in DAI. It’s great to have a taste of his relationship with Mae and, as much as I’m disappointed at lack of dorianmance content, Im grateful for these two lines we got. Other ships didn’t even have that (aside from solavellans, they really got all of that inquisitor budget 😭)
when my sister told me Dorian was going to be in the game i tried to avoid spoilers... but my best friend is RIGHT THERE i MUST hear about his amatus and any gossip he has.
Yes. But from what I've gathered, they went with the "use the most probable path the most players chose" which mean Leliana is more probabile to be Divine than Vivienne
@16Vagabond, don't get me started please. I would have endured everything, everything. But that. The complete loss of control of your own world. A trait that defined Dragon age for so long and let us feel like our stories mattered. I played 6 wardens, 4 Hawkes, 6 Inquisitors and 7 Rooks, all of whom had different ideas, made different choices and went through different paths, but Veilguard simply ignored it. And in regards of "characters returning", i feel you. But honestly, I would have been fine even with some phrases about it like they did in Inquisition. When I discovered that Grey Wardens and Morrigan would be in the game, I was so happy because my second warden Romanced Morrigan and Had baby god Kieran with her. And then... choices were removed exept three from Inquisition: a Romance that basically doesn't count anything if not with Solas, if the Inquisition is still there or not (which is mentioned thrice in the game and the no more) and if the Inquisitor wants to save or stop Solas. And by now, they let the Kieran plot fall into nothing, not even a brief mention of the Hero of Ferelden at Weisshaupt, no mentions of Hawke at all, the Mage and Templars war is mentioned twice at best and very briefly, nobody talks about if the mages or the templars helped the Inquisition or who the ruler of Orlais is. The Well of Sorrows is reduced to a "magical pond", nobody says anything about Corypheus even if we are fighting the cult he LED or about the Dragon's breath even if THAT was the stroke that broke the camel's back for the Antaam. And honestly, I don't want to criticize the crew who finished the game: they did a very good job with what they were given under a company who made some of the best videogame makers in the world quit and spent 7 years creating a stupid life of service thing that destroyed what could have been a great game. And honestly, I commend the crew, I am sure they did their best and there are many glimmers of genius and incredible scenes in the game, but as a whole it simply... too unpolished in the regards of the missions, too cheery, polite and colorful since Rook is dealing with the worst disaster in the history of Thedas and they can't even say to somebody to get their heads out of their ass (2 blights at once with the gods' spin on it, I mean come on!) It doesn't let you decide your previous choices and sadly some character have a great potential and great ideas to build them... and an execution that killed them. Even approval or Romance doesn't count anything anymore. In Origins and Inquisition Low Approval meant that a Character would be harsh, bitchy, unsufferable, while High approval made them so much warmer and open to the protagonist. And Romances were so varied and full of great moments that could warm your heart as much as rip it out. In veilguard instead nothing changes. The Romances are as linear and one note as it can be, they called it the "spiciest and most romantic dragon age" and yet we barely see any sex scene, as if this game was not for a MATURE audience, Lucanis and Neve stay hardened forever, no matter what you do, every time a conversation finishes, the character gains approval and even if they disapprove of something, they don't say it!
@@andreagrussu6778 Does this account for the bug that was active for a long time that basically meant Leliana only got positive points in her favor? Of course most people ended up with Divine Leliana then.
That was an optional romance that not everyone has in their worldstate. It makes sense with the limited choices they didn’t canonize it for an unromanced Dorian.
@@burnedpotatoes720 I actually haven't played the game at all yet, I have a 10 year old laptop and last generation consoles because the economy is crap and I got laid off from my last job and can barley pay rent Thanks for asking!
"thank you danaduchy", we all say in unison
🫡
Indeed, that is what we all say
I like the idea of the future Archon and Black Divine just gossiping in a hideout under the city lol
Sassing Solas’ fashion sense, no less
only 6 minutes of dorians banter is a punishable offence 😭😭😭
He speaks slower and his tone is softer than in Inquisition. I love how the bright energy of his younger self has aged to a more tempered cheer 🥲
I chose Dorian to be the next Archon because of how DELIGHTFULLY Chaotic he is and I truly do love that about him 😂
The more I hear comments in the game, the more I'm convinced a Hardened Leliana is the Divine.
Inspired Leliana as divine was probably the best choice for Thedas. The writers probably went with that
I'm not sure. Harding says she doesn't know Divine Victoria very well, but elsewhere she refers to Leliana by name.
I always thought Vivienne was the cabin choice

brings back fond memories of traveling with Dorian and Vivienne in Inquisition listening to them "mean girl" Solas and his wardrobe.
NGL i kinda wanted to be able to flirt with Viper....
They gave us this carrot, and we can never have it😢😢
I know.. wasted opertunity. would love to see he he's as bashful as some of these voice lines suggests.
Thank you for taking the time to record these but also adding the dialogue transcripts on the video too! :) quality work
I miss him so much
Ohhhh my love Dorian ❤️

He still got it.
Gotta love Dorian
Now this is the content I need
Choosing the right city to ‘save’ might help to get more of these banter options.

That last bit of dialogue is if the Inq romanced Dorian
And I'm so glad that Veilguard didn't forget that option
Just as cheeky and delightful as I remember him.
3:05 viper sounding thrown off. Love it
1:38 that kinda codifies Leliana as the Divine, huh?
I also see Viv as one to send assassins, the only one that line doesn’t fit is Cassandra

Oh I’ve missed this man…
So it means Dorian and Inquisitor are still together at the time of Veligard?
Yep my inquisitor romanced him and they were still together in veilguard
@@bluecreator7779 Thank u! Glad to hear that ❤
3:55 same bro. Like what's up with that
I'd love all the Shadow Dragon banter, not just Dorian's, if you please ❤❤
That haircut...LOOK at how they massacred my BOY
He has literally had that haircut since the epilogue of Trespasser. You should have had 10 years to make peace with it lol.
Still great performance to the voice actor of Dorian. It is a shame the quality of the writing is dog sh*t.
Oh no you let out the Solavellan banter of his at the end!
Dorian sounds a little off, is it just me?
Its been 10 years
I thought that too. I had to look up if it was the same voice actor. His voice seems lighter.
people get older
The direction is different, just listen to Harding. I heard the director changed.
Wow so he says nothing if he romances ironbull from Inquisition? I know they threw a lot out from Inquisition but still, I really enjoyed that Romance

I choose to interpret his line about dragon's teeth as ironic, because he wears one under his robes 🦚❤️🐮
Clearly you didn't play the game enough that there are only three choices from the Inquisition to be considered during the CC.

They threw out about 95% of your world state because they didn’t have the budget to think about it. But have you seen the hair physics?
