Doug, This is an awesome idea. I've hauled aggregate into concrete plants for 35 years and never needed this but it's a dang good idea. Good video That driveway looks ultra professional.
I just acquired property out of town, lived in town my whole life. The driveway is in need of attention. I have wanted this look/style and was not sure how to come of it. Thank you for sharing much appreciated. Like and subscribed
Great idea, the simple stuff always works the best. I have a truck with no tailgate, I tack weld a wedge in the rear center of the box. Works great, and I grind the welds off when I'm done. Thanks
Years ago I welded 2” tall rebar in 4 sections so I could lay a piece of steel as a spacer like this. I can put it in when I need and remove it just as fast. Still works flawlessly.
I can't believe ever thought of that! That's a sweet idea!! I'm going to set myself up the same. I'm always fighting grass in the middle etc. Why fight it, just utilize the angle iron method n save some money on gravel too.. limestone is 35/ ton here local. I truck about 4.5 to 5 ton a trip, always takes about 4 loads every every 4 years or so w limestone. 1800 feet.
Wow I been doin landscaping and hardscaping for years and do not know ANYONE in my country side that likes the grass in the middle of there driveway nice video! 3:28
Thank you for your comment, it's mostly older farm homes that have this type of driveway in my area thanks for watching my video I really appreciate it !
Hey great question mine is a quarter inch off the bottom where it bolts to the tailgate and half Inch at the back of the angle iron so when the tailgate swing open you have a little room for the ark just don't put to much distance under the iron or #8s could go under and you will have to see if your bed is reasonably smooth you may have to play with it to get it right thanks for watching!
Saves 30% of your gravel We use a 24" triangle built with 2x4 n plywood that way we donot have a wheelbarrow or 2 of gravel left n just like his we take it n n out high of triangle depends on height of tail gate 😅😅😅😅save money by getting more coverage per load
I’m a master Texas plumber and know nothing about this stuff and I’m defiantly not the biggest book on the shelf!!! I would almost bet you could just place the angle in dump bed whithout the bolts and nuts and it would maybe work just as well from gravel holing it in place and it might work just as good and would be quicker and easier for use?? And I could be wrong?
Great question the bolts hold the angle in place to maintain the correct wheel spacing problems arise at the stone quarry when they load you they have a large wheel loader that dumps around 8 tons at a time the stone rushing in tends to push things around if not secured thanks for watching my video I really appreciate it !
To get the "country look" of a driveway you first need to remove the Mercedes, Audi and Tesla cars, the street lights sidewalks and hot tubs and your neighbor's A/C unit that drones endlessly. The stone is a minor upgrade.

Good video
That driveway looks ultra professional.
I appreciate your comment and for watching my video. Thanks!
Great idea, extra benefits of this is less gravel, if driveway part of the pasture then the cows can mow it
Can't argue with those results. I like the angle iron trick, it's tuff. Did sorta the same with an old mud flap. It worked. Much appreciated sir.
Thank you for your comments and watching my video I really appreciate it !
That was ingenious! I was in business for many years with several f-350 dump trucks, never thought of doing this.
Thank you for your comment and watching my video I really appreciate it !

Great job spreading. Why did the customer want chip rock w/o fines, spreads much easier but it won't stay put very long?
Good question in my area most people want # 57 lime stone for there finish layer

Very cool !!!
Thanks for watching my video I really appreciate it !
How much gap did you leave under the angle iron to the bed bottom to allow it to swing out and not get hung up?
3/8" should work perfectly.

Good question that's for online privacy of phone number and address thanks for watching my video I really appreciate it !
