Love this and this game! I just started my FoFo solo play through 4 heroes, second adventure after intro and first town visit and I had bad roles with every growing dread card pulled and waiting for the final fight. I still have it setup trying to decide to either run out or try to take on two bosses. Still a great fun experience/game. Cheers!
Ive been going through gates and haven't needed to crack into expansion content or any of the extra kickstarter stuff. I still integrated all the cards immediately though and drew the Odinsword on 2nd mission! Iykyk
Hey, not sure what you are asking--I mention the campaign book for Gates of Valhalla and I don't think that is available as a download. Can you clarify?
Wow. Sounds complicated and loads of housekeeping with more than one character. Not sure I've got the mental capacity for all that just yet! I like the game and the aids you printed.
This is a great game solo, although I prefer to play two heroes rather than just one (which you totally can) because of the synergies you get with two.
I’m considering getting into SoB, but there is quite an overwhelming amount to choose from. Do you find Gates of Valhalla to have enough content as a standalone purchase? I’ve read complaints about the small loot deck and other small deck, can’t recall the specifics. Given a full core set can be had for only $15 more, it seems to lack some value. Forbidden Fortress also interests me, how does the miniature quality compare to the revised core sets? Do worry that FoFo doesn’t seem to synergize with the rest of the core sets as naturally as the adventure sets, since they have corresponding other worlds. Your advice would be appreciated!
I do find Gates of Valhalla definitely has enough content to get you through the eight scenarios that come with it. Then, after that, you can start adding expansions to it if you are wanting more content. Not only the Nordic theme but you can really mix and match with any of the systems. But I still like the small improvements in GoV that make it more fun to play. In terms of FoFo, the miniatures are fine--like I mentioned in my video, I've never been overly impressed with Flying Frog minis but they work so it's fine with me. Again, FoFo can be integrated with everything else so I would go with GoV first and then add whatever expansions you want after that.
@@gaminggeek241thanks for the advice, I kinda regret my decision now lol. I ended up going with swamps of death, frontier town, and the alt gender pack from city of ancients. I plan to add the Valley of the Serpent Kings at a later date since it shares the same other world. I kind of based my decision on the enemies in each. I also picked up a zombicide game so I have quite a load of minis to paint! It will be my first attempt at painting miniatures! 😅
I have the OG Shadows of Brimstone but only after it hit retail. I stick to the Old West Theme only just to keep the amount of content I own down because I have limited space. Via retail I have recently purchased Gates of Valhalla. I like the new Adventures but I feel like the OG game had more content. I would rather pay the same as the OG game to have a better experience. I have purchased the extra tiles and gates and I feel like the game content should have been in the start set IMHO. You are not really saving anything as the cost of the additional items makes it more than the base box and I do not know anyone amoung my in-person or online gaming friends who own only the base box for SoB. That said, I do like the campaign thus far. I do find it to be more challenging. What they have done with the base camp I wish we had for the Frontier Town. I am actually writing this with both rule books open to see how to incorporate that into OG SoB. At this point, given all the KS they have made and the exclusives they have in the web store, I rather they create a book in the style of Klik's Madness for HexploreIt vs more plastic models. I would happily pay $50 for an expanisve campaign book that gives me motivation as to why I am going into other worlds. There is already so much physical content for SoB I just want a nice campaign book.
Extensive! Campaign report videos would be really fun, the stories that come out of these games are the best part.

Man I've wanted every shadows of brimstone, but I've always passed on them. Really tempted to just grab all the core games and play through them
It's extremely fun, and addictive, and expensive.
Hey cool! I updated my character sheets on BGG and they are much better.
Can you provide a link here? I can't remember which character sheets I downloaded from BGG. Thanks so much!
Great coverage. Keep'em coming.
Excellent video. Did you start your FoFo campaign yet? I'd love to see what you've put together
Can you please share a link for download the campain introduction for western tematis (city of ancients) you mention on minute 7

I also found Forbidden Fortress very challenging as well!
Gray looking game, and I appreciate the game play of the turn.

Character sheets are the way to go for campaign mode.
Best to treat it like a pen and paper RPG past level 1 &2.
Great video i really enjoyed this thanks
Is the retail version mising anything truly gamechanging compared to any of the ks exclusive items, like the Valkyrie character?
can you just use this base set and add any other previous expansions to it?
nevermind. later in your video you answered this. haha.
This looks great! How is it 1p?

Wow. $80 is a really good price for this. A lot for your money.
Yes those quoted prices are what you find them for from online retailers. It is months of fun, I'm biased but I found it very repayable too.

Plus one for a campaign book. Have you used Hex Crawl?
@@gaminggeek241 Yes, I have but a nice campaign book would be great addition to the system
They are adding a campaign system expansion called perilous expeditions.
Thanks brother 👍🏻🇺🇸🇮🇱
