Informative historical documentary of Cuba that began with Christopher Columbus and the sugar cane plant. Brilliant narration, research, presentation, illustrations and music. Authentic source of information for students.

This is such a well made documentary. I am shocked so few have watched it and nobody except me has given it a thumbs up. I am so glad I found it. Was there a 2nd part filmed as it says 'to be continued...' at the end of the film? Thank you.

Vishy, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Alas, I never filmed the continuation to 'Cuba in the Raw.' I made 'Milton Hershey's Cuba' instead, which covers most of the same historical turf I had intended to cover in the continuation, but against the background of Milton Hershey's empire on the island.

My Nana and Poppa are from Cuba. I enjoyed watching this. I study interior architecture and wondered where did the Cuban architecture style come from. I understand my ancestors story a little more.

I love Cuban Spanish Colonial architecture. I was thrilled seeing it when John Paul II visited. He went not to maul a tyrant but to bolster a people, pointing to a threshold of hope.

We cannot do without sugar which is not bad for you in generous moderation. Pure cane sugar is better than all other sugars in flavor and health effect; and much of the world's best sugarcane has always been grown on the island of Cuba.

Cuba was the leader in the world in sugar industry at one time. Before sugar Cuba was big in ranching cattle and horses. Cuban vaqueros are first in the Americas not Mexico. Tobacco and rum also big players over the years. Viva Cuba

Its a pity to hear that how the European Colonial Empires, used n killed people with impunity. Today those countries are wealthy from wealth that was plundered. The mass killing of those revolting against injustice, were silenced. Today it is known as genocide, which began way back then
