Doesn't distort in terms of being audible, just that the output doesn't null with the input even when simply doing nothing. I assume there is some Spectral DSP going on and so phase shift perhaps?
@@SamHocking Yes, distortion is too harsh of a word, but as you say, if there is phase shift then it may not be too accurate in its de-correlation. Which is how they are very well known for. How about on the Apple Music bit. Any thoughts?
@@DRSINC I did try and communicate with Penteo asking why it wouldn't null and they said it does, but you are listening in Binaural. I wasn't as it's clear Stereo to Stereo also shows the difference in the scope, but they never got back to me, so I can only assume it is what it is? My assumption is Apple don't want labels to simply pump a million songs through an upmixer or demixer to get their extra 10% payout for having Atmos. It's clearly allowed as they're not gonna take down the massive plays some of the upmixed and demixed Atmos artists work imo.
