I have had a headcanon for a while that Blake helped Ruby catch up those two years she skipped while at Beacon. Bc back then Weiss and Ruby didn’t get along, and let’s be honest, Yang probably got awful grades. So I think Blake being a sort of mentor figure to Ruby makes sense. This headcanon also includes the idea that through mentoring Ruby, Blake was able to figure out what a healthy mentor-student dynamic SHOULD feel like, which would help her process and come to terms with the fact that Adam was abusive. So hearing Blake talk to Ruby abt sort of looking up to her made my heart so warm.

Rewatching these scenes made me realize how terrifying the situations these characters end up in can really be. The Schnee Manor incident felt like something out of a horror movie.

I seriously enjoyed what they started with Nora made her feel much more 3 Dimensional despite being one of my favourites but it’s nice exploring her character more (also BE STRONG AND HIT STUFF)
I wonder if they will only focus on Team RWBYs side of the story next volume or if they will switch back and forth between the two worlds. Personally I hope for the former.
I think we should at least get to know what everyone is Vacuo is up to, perhaps a few scenes sprinkled in here and there. However, I do believe that the story of everyone who fell into the void should take priority.
I’m kinda hoping for something similar to what happened in season 9 of ninja with the 2 realms cutting back and forth when one side calmed down to show the other team

Now, uhmm.. rewatching the whole journey again, pp complain of team rwby about taking tea while the city is under attack by the own salem, and the army of general iron.. even yang's team is fighting vs all of that in that moment, but at 28:23 mint they were about to do that, except Klaim show up and after, all the event of the hounds and penny happends. still i really like the vol 8, hope will get a nice one too for vol 9.)
One thing I do love about this volume and volume 7 is how grey the morality is painted for everyone. Like it’s not all one sided. Like sure, your always supposed to side with team RWBY, at the same time you do know where everyone else is coming from like Ironwood and Robyn. It’s just like justice league Unlimited, like just because their heroes does not mean they’re always right, even they can be in the wrong at times. So these volumes make it perfectly clear that no one is either 100% right or 100% wrong, just their motivations and justification, whether you fully agree with it or not.

Blake and Weiss just kind of go along with either sibling depending on the situation but post V3 onwards, Yang is shown to go rogue/solo just fine. Ruby had JNR and Qrow, Blake had Sun and her family, Weiss had Klein and her status, and Yang basically went solo after she left her father. I believe Weiss was captured relatively quickly. Point is, Yang can do solo just fine and especially after her talk with Raven, she questions everything and everyone, including her own sister who many thought she’d never “betray” like that. I’d like to see the parallel of Jaune inspiring Ruby like she did for him, it’s going to be interesting to see how their dynamic and relationship is moving forward given the events of the V8 finale.

@@copiousmist8614- she had a soul. He said he can’t save lives or destroy a soul so he made her a human body to put her soul in.
