Excellent video as usual Swed. I'm an older guy who's been backpacking for 50 years and I have learned a lot of new things watching your vids. I really like your choices for gear too. We do a service to the next generation of young people by teaching them skills like these.....if we can get them out of their electronic universe and out into the woods.
Been following this beautiful channel for over a month now. There’s always something I find in your videos in which I say to myself “now that’s clever”. 👍🏼👍🏼
It's been a long time since I camped out as a scout and Rover, but your video brought it all back to me. Especially meditating by the fire. There's nothing that compares. Thanks so much for this video.
Your patience and wisdom are incredible, your videos are so refreshing and by far the best on youtube. keep the great videos coming, I could watch all night long.
Another day in lockdown saved by Swedwoods! I am almost embarrassed by how much I look forward to your postings. It has been a year since we were forced into isolation, and I can honestly say that finding your channel has been one of the only highlights of the past twelve months. And now I find you are not just a teacher, but a professional musician. Your guitar technique and choice of luthiers should have given me the first big hint. Keep up the great work, you seem to have built quite a following, and we need to live vicariously through your escapes into nature!
Ah, a bushcraft alpha tent! I used one of these (with tentpoles) to go cycle camping across Wales. I found that I would wake up with the bottom of my sleeping bag stuck out of the bottom and soaked in the grass overnight (I'm 5ft 11). Love the different poncho shelter options, but I will always pair it with my bivy bag from now on. Thank you for the great content as always!
I enjoyed the interesting and varied use of the poncho as a shelter! A very peaceful journey.... love the French hot dog ! Thanks again for a great video!
"Pigs in a blanket" was written on the bulletin board in front of the cafeteria when I was in elementary school. I still love them today. Your cooking is a bit better than that I should say. :) Going on a lark Monday. Oh, by the way, I had a "full English" this morning for breakfast, and I thought of yours. :) Wonderful videos Bro.
Brother Swede👍👍 A poncho umbrella..sweet. Caveman bacon..yummy. Second setup a little more traditional/basic. Weather here the same, -20F then 4 days later +70F...crazy. Yes sir, more mustard more better, we call those "pigs in a blanket", same good stuff, different name. Great video, well filmed as always. Thanks for the adventure, a pleasure for sure. Enjoy!
Hello my friend greetings from Moose Jaw Good to see you again all healthy . You made a nice video again from a very nice place. A old Forest i love that. Good idea with the Ambrela cover. I could smell the bush tea , it has also alot off vitamin C . The Hot Dog very good too that bread is called by the Cree Indians here Banik very nice. Well you take care with your family and I hope to see you soon again. Well done 👍
You are a genius... seriously that's the coolest poncho set up I have seen. New shoes ? What are they Thank you so much , watching you always from everywhere
Like the different configurations on the poncho , especially your first set up. Never seen mustard packaged like that . Thanks for the video and bread recipe. Have a good one
I like some youtubers that talk and some that don't. I am a talker. I like both; your videos are very relaxing and I am watching your videos in anticipation of going camping soon.
its a very common thing here in sweden, our name for it literally translates to "stick bread". if you add some sugar and cinnamon you have a "cinnamon bun" on a stick :)
Thank you for taking us on these walks. It is very valuable to share with others the beauty of our world, real emotions and your vision of what surrounds us! All this is a great work and art, it is worth a lot..... Thank you for the fact that more and more people are carried away by hiking romance, making people kinder. When you are in nature, you always enjoy the little things. You live in the present moment, and all negative thoughts leave our mind!
What a Gift your channel is. I randomly came across it just a week ago and I really appreciate how you produce your journey's in the wilderness. Nothing but Nature's sounds and high quality video. thank you.
absolute top class! The beautiful nature, delicious meals, how respectful you are to nature! you even protect the forest floor from fire. respect! keep it up!
Wow! Another great adventure! I learn so much from your knowledge you freely share. Thank you so much. Yes, strange weather here in the Cascades as well. Take care.
Another great video. I'm certainly no bushcrafter but I still watch your videos for tips and tricks when im out backpacking. I love the French Hot Dogs! I remember eating something similar to that when I was on a military training deployment in Poland. It's like a fancy pig in the blanket!! 😂🤣 Keep up the awesome work!!
As always the overall video was wondrous. And I really appreciate the small campcraft things: The way you angle your blade, varying your setup, use of natural resources, and the mirror at the end was a really nice touch :-). Regards, Doug
This is the absolute "pig in a blanket" hotdog! Fantastic video, great scenery and even better editing! Thank you for letting us join you and out of that "lockdown"! Cheers
Your videos are great. I can spend an hour in complete silence and enjoy every bit of it. Careful with that knife, saw, or axe though. Sometimes I get nervous with you out in the middle of nowhere and you are slicing away. Great job Swedwoods.
It's an Alpha tent (but using wood instead of tent poles). Google it if you want to get the measurements for to make up poles for a NATO or USGI poncho. It was invented by an ex US forces chap.
Hi there from Switzerland .. Super! 👍 .. made more enjoyable by the Simplicity involved. That first Poncho setup was something to take note of. Takes me back to the 50's / 60's .. in Sub-Tropical Durban, South Africa. Making Kites using locally-sourced split Wild Bamboo, Brown Paper with String and Flour and Water Paste for Glue. Split Bamboo is light, flexible and very strong for it's weight. Where one can get it, many variations on a theme regarding lightweight shelter (and other) setups .. hmmm 🤔 .. A great share .. thanks .. take care ..
There are only a couple channels that I can, or will, watch the full length of their video's. Yours, and there is one in the UK. I laugh at myself. I'm 70 years on this ole earth, and, there are times I start thinking I know a few things. Then, I watch one of your video's. I learn something new each time. Loved the idea with the tent. Seems that would definitely hold your body heat pretty well. Then the bacon over birch twigs. I doubt if there is a single birch tree here in No. Colorado, but wouldn't aspen work as well? I believe birch and aspen are similar. I don't think pine or cedar would be good due to the sap. I want to do that. It's good that we continue to learn, no matter the age. I suppose once we stop, it's time to pack it in, so to speak. Take it easy. Roger
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful land and beautiful nights with us You have a beautiful soul and beautiful heart that cares so much about Mother Nature because you restorant back to where it was and I love that You are one of a kind Sending love and light and peace and many more blessings going your way stay safe and be careful God bless you and your family
Great video! You didn't use any paracord when making the tripod. And you bonfired without using thick firewood. In addition, you just lifted the kettle and turned the water into hot water by simply combining natural objects. I felt you really love nature and bushcraft! from Japan
I love the way u cooks sir in fire and preparing different types of food..main reason I watch your channel one is the beautiful nature and what different u prepare the food.. Thank u
Dear friend. Always something new and different in your videa, congratulations, I am not tired seeing your channel. I thing northern people have marvellouse channels for your nice way to stay at woods. Again, congratulations for your channel and sharing your videa. Greetings from Madrid.
I emphasize again and again that your videos to be homemade and recorded by yourself are 5 ☆. the bacon straight to the campfire, the custom bread for the hotdog! and the end hahaha I thought you would ride a horse but the mirror open and you will be on camera went to another level A +++++ very good videos with high details. Greetings from Puerto Rico.🇵🇷
Truly excellent! I have learned a few new things from this video. Thank you so much for taking us along with you and for sharing your awesome knowledge. All the very best. Take care, Steve. 👍👍
Watching the clouds passing in front of the full moon, covering and then uncovering the full moon is lovely.
Thank you, Sweedwoods.
