      Arunabha Ghosh this is former Chairman of our physics department. He has recently launched the coffee shop and there he made separate arrangements to deliver physics lectures to physics aspirants. This is not a class room. When he came to auditorium in university then students from all departments attend his lectures and hall was jam-packed.

    This is fine but I dont think that these lectures are doing much benefits to young minds and audience. Having studied engineering I did not encountered Feynman diagram or any work Feynman had done in our professional course. I was interested in mathematics and sciences from childhood and also like to read lot of books on various topics. Feynman came into my life through books and I was simply awed by his scientific temperament, his commitment towards science , his ability to simplify things, and his pragmatism. This has helped me a lot in overcoming my cultural and religious baggage (I come from India and a hindu brahmin family where even in exam I had to pray 100 Gods and seek blessings of every elders of my house when I was going to give some crucial exam ) . After reading Feynman I just realized I was looking for this. There are many people from different fields who have inspired me to become a free man but Feynman did it best. I did not understand Feynman diagram , his works on QED but that did not spoil the fun. I had read "Feynman lectures on physics" and was really impressed how lucidly he had explained simple laws of physics . I still remember his unique way of finding center of mass, his examples to explain the concept of energy to mention few. I read in his anecdotal book that he was pretty impressed with "differentiate under integral" , one of his tools for calculation. When I investigated and found the amazing benefits of i"Differentiate under integral sign" that day I felt the pleasure of winning Nobel prize by my own standard :). I strongly believe we should not cage Feynman within Feynman diagrams, his contribution on QED as these are high end physics. One can live a good life without knowing this. But if one miss to read "Feynman lectures on physics", "Characters of physical laws" , his autobiographical book "Surely you are Joking Mr Feynman", "What do you care what other prople think" they are missing something in their life. And all these books any layman having interest in science can read. I feel this lecture did not touch anything, but tried to touch Feynman contribution on specialized field on physics and may not have raised any curiosity for layman to know Feynman or in broader aspect encouraging scientific tempermant, total honesty and dedication towards science, able to bypass complexity and to enjoy life dabbing in wide variety of pursuits like Feynman did. The lecture failed to do that in my personal opinion.

    Note: you said if electron has two same paths like YOU to choose ibn e sina road or other, then it's yours choice to go from path A or B BUT Sir YOU have brain/intellect while electron don't 😊

    • @VacuumFluctuation
      @VacuumFluctuation 2 года назад

      The thought process behind your question is not how Physics at the Plank scale works... The first idea in QM is everything is studied in terms of Probability. Determinism which is bedrock of Physics in the Newtonian scale, is absolutely redundant in the Quantum scale. So nothing can be absolutely determined.
      What here being explained by the interference experiment is the idea of probability which is 50-50. Because it is probability 100%/2=50%. Like that. Simple.... Measured by Amplitude. Better explained by eigen values. Learn linear algebra & complex numbers to understand how we investigate quantum phenomenon better like Sherlock Holmes. hahaha
      Now the deeper question is why.... Let me ask another question to U from Optics - How do U explain the principle of least time for EMW (let us assume light here) that leads to understanding of principle of least action? How do nature determine all that in classical mechanics?
      Laws of Nature is all about simple truths, guarded by complex walls of puzzles, that we physicist break open to see the final holy Truth. The one and only agenda to practice science.

    سر اپ نے اس میں کہا کہ الیکٹران ایک نکتے سے دوسرے تک جانے کے لیئے ہو سکتا ہے چاند سے بھی ہو کر آ جائے لیکن یہ تو تب ہو گا نا جب ہم اس کے درمیان سکرین رکھیں گے ۔۔۔اگر نہ ہو تو پھر تو وہ سیدھا ہی جائے گا نا۔۔۔

    پرویز ہودبھائی پاکستان کی سطح پر سب سے بہترین استاد ہیں فزکس کے اور ممکن تھا کہ یہ عالمی سطح پر بھی کوئی نام کما لیتے اور انسانیت کی خدمت کرتے، لیکن مجھے بہت بڑا افسوس اس وقت ہوا جب میں نے پرویز ہودبھائی کو 'موت کا منظر ' جیسی تیسرے درجے کی کتابوں پر تبصرے کرتے ہوئے دیکھا اور اس کی بنیاد پر اسلامی تعلیمات اور احکامات کے مسخرے اڑاتے دیکھا ، میں نے یہ بھی دیکھا کہ ہودبھائی صاحب چاند پر زلزلے کے متعلق کہتے ہوئے پھر سے اسلامی عقائد پر حملہ آور ہوئے، کبھی یہ مولانا طارق جمیل صاحب کی لمبی داڑھی کا مذاق اڑاتے دیکھے گئے تو کبھی فورمین کرسچن کالج کے ایشو کو لیکر چوکوں میں دھرنے دیتے ہوئے ملے۔
    یہودی ،عیسائی اور ہندو یا دوسرے مذاھب کے پس منظر والے ذہین لوگ جب اپنے مذہب سے بیزاری کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے دکھائی دیں تو وہ حق بجانب اس لئے ہیں کہ وہاں دقیانوسیت اور غیر فطری و غیر عقلی باتیں مذہب کا حصہ ہیں اور جو آپس میں بھی تضادات کے شکار ہیں۔ اب ان لوگوں کی نقل اتارتے ہوئے جب اسلام پر حملہ آور ہوا جائے تو یقین کریں اپنی سطحی سے قسم کے معلومات کی بنیاد پر جب آپ بات کرتے ہیں بڑے مضحکہ خیز لگتے ہیں، کیونکہ اسلامی تعلیمات کے پیچھے پورا فلسفہ کار فرما ہے۔ جس طرح آپ کمیونزم ، ہیومینزم اور معاشرے کی ارتقائی نظریات پر بات کرتے ایسے ہی اسلام اور اس کی تعلیمات و احکامات پر بات کریں اور مقابلہ و موازنہ کریں تو ہی آپ کی بات علمی و عقلی اور تحقیقی ہوگی جس کے ہودبھائی صاحب بڑے دعوے کرتے رہتے ہیں یعنی rationalism۔
    کبھی ہودبھائی صاحب مفکر ہیں تو کبھی یہ ادیب و دانشور اور مؤرخ بن جاتے ہیں ،کبھی یہ سیاسی تجزیہ کار کی صورت میں ابھرتے رہےہیں تو کبھی معاشرے کے مصلح بن جاتے ہیں۔
    اے کاش ہودبھائی صاحب اپنی پوری توجہ اور توانائی فزکس پر مرکوز کرتے، معتدل مسلمان ہوتے یا مذہب کے متعلق نیوٹرل ہوتے۔
