Hi Reuben thanks for noticing that! I’ve always enjoyed power hammer action shots but I try to make them extra fun by editing it to the beat of the backing music I chose. Thanks! - Vinz
Nailed it again! Cant wait for the next. When you guys finish i would recommend to make an uncut long version. I would make some poocorn and watch it wide screen!
Thanks man that’s very nice of you. Great idea by the way. I have been contemplating on making one single video versions of all the series I’ve made. It is just very hard to condense them that’s all hahaha! How long would you think would be a good watch for you? 30 minutes?
I'd be happy to share what i know. Although on that topic i feel like i do most smthings pretty instinctively rather than in a learned, structured matter
A hot shear is on my to build list, What do you do with all your little bits of damascus? Great to see the knife coming together. You can get that same stressing problem in a coal forge if you are using a small fire and or large pieces of steel because the heat source becomes very focused. Looking forward to the next one.
Hey bud! Yeah it would be interesting to see if anything can be made from all the bits cut off but in this specific case, there wasn’t any waste as the other half would be knife # 2 from the billet.
Actually i have a bucket with all the offcuts and i wait for a fun day in the forge to descale them all and make a giant canister damascus project from them
Hi Notabrit! Thanks for the comment! Great to hear that you also see the benefits of an induction heater! Did you get to watch the video we had on Induction Heaters for Heat Treatment? If not, it’s this one: ruclips.net/video/pzg3fWEOXB8/видео.html Thanks for watching!
Hi Anton. Great question. Yes, when you watch one of Tobias’ latest video here at the channel, he’ll demonstrate grinding off excess to ensure that the weld seams are all removed.
Induction is great, I have a 15KW. Unfortunately it shuts down very often despite my 20amp breaker and 4mm cables to a specific plug. Do you have a contact or someone having knowledge to guide me finding a solution ? thanks a lot and keep up the great work UK Bladeshow !
Hi Stephane thanks for sharing your setup. Unfortunately I don’t know anyone myself (are you also from the UK?). I’ll let you know if I do find a solution.
You need a cable at least 10mm sectional for your power and a bigger breaker. I already commented this and it was deleted looks like? I have the manuals and can send you screen shots or you can look up LH-15A induction heater
Hi Jordan thanks for your help! I haven’t deleted any previous comments. It might have been a technical bug or something so apologies for that. Thanks for the help - really appreciate it!
@@jordanpavlik9178 Thank you, I have a manual as well but did not see that . 10mm is massive ! Workshop entry is 25Amp max, I hope the cable change will be sufficient. Im in Switzerland btw
the weirdest bladesmith flex i see basically all forging instructors do, is to almost touch glowing hot steel while explaining things hahahaha all while i feel my knuckles almost burn off just holding the hammer while forging :D:D does experience really make dead nerve ends like that? haha
not really, sometimes im just too focus on it my finger can stay near hot metal. and only my left arm wear gloves. could just be sweat insulating my hand from the heat.
@@tobiashangler just something i noticed more and more often over the last 2 years rabbitholing thru any available bladesmithing instruction clip i could find and hahaha guess you won't anymore nope :P thanks for being great at explaining things awesomely and pushing this craft the way you do! might need to get some of that apex cu-mai off keith's shop better today than tomorrow :)
Who saw the “Punsch” cameo in this video? 😊 yummy!
I love how whenever there's a power hammer being used, the video editor makes the music tempo match the strikes.

That parz was some absolutely ingenious editing! Thank you for doing all the magic work on this video @ukbladeshow!
excellent piece of forging, good to see exactly how the heat source works as well, good one
Glad you like it
Glad if that helped a little!

That would be cool! I
Guy knows how to swing a hammer! Pleasure to watch him forging. Proper good relaxed grip
You know what - that’s a brilliance idea! Thanks for the suggestion and thanks again for watching David!
No worries! Cheers for the videos guys. Keep em coming please 😉😊

@@UKBladeshow good stuff. How long to the next one.....
It’s in the editing queue now as we speak! It’s the finale of the series so we’ll end it with a bang!

Thinking about the pros and cons of induction compared to gas, i really want induction.

Do you grind of the welds at some point? Welding material must travel into the material when forging

Hahaha yeah all the smiths I’ve seen or the instructors that show me how to do it definitely do that! Very pro hahaha
Haha i never realized that. I definitely won't be a pro gamer anymore with the numb fingertips but I still try to avoid burning them on purpose 😂
