I like it when people talk about screen resolution and pixels on phones, especially when I remember when my first one had a tiny screen and had a monochrome screen. If it can make and receive phone calls that's a good start, oh and texts of course the rest are just bonuses.
I bought it for myself for my birthday last month. It's not a high-end Android with all the bells and whistles, and it's geared more for the younger crowd (pre-teens and teenagers mostly), but I like it because it's simple. I hate all the bells and whistles. This is a simple, entry-level Android phone and so far for me it works. I would recommend it if you want to learn Android before upgrading to the big kids' table, if you know what I mean.
i have this phone and it's really awesome it's so cheap but all the features are almost here. Very fast i don't experience any lag yet! Good in games too!!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Y GT-5363 and I am happy with it. Smart, Slim, Small. Just my type. I rooted the phone and it is smooth as silk. The only major problem I am having is that I cannot choose a custom message tone without going through whole lot of steps. The phone can be customized in any will.The keyboard is small but you get used to it. You have to stop the 3G data connection every-time after using it as all the apps have permission to use the network at any will. Great Phone though :-)
I don't think it sucks. It's been almost a month and it does everything I want it to, and it does it well. I even dropped it on concrete and it's still going. People want this phone because it's simple. For facebook, music and some smaller games it's the perfect phone.

I'm not sure but I think it comes with an app for that. In any case you can just download the youtube app in the google store (and sorry for my bad english, btw).

@daniellahellokitty I think you should choose LG optimus me instead of galaxy y. Because I'm using galaxy y now, this one has some anoying errors that they haven't had any software to repair, such as: SD card not detecting error, weak waves...

Galaxy Y can be one of the smoothest n coolest sets if one handles it properly.. especially replacing the stock launchers n basic apps with better ones from market..ofcourse the only problem i found with the set is its 190MB of internal memory which is pretty unfit for any android.. Pocket is good..by performance..but the screen size takes toll on most of apps and the even pocket's design is not dat good.. so i wud say value for money is pretty well :)
i know that the samsung galaxy mini has a problem with the alarm ( it will not activate if the phone isn't turned on ... ) Does this phone have the same problem
You know what I don't understand. When I had the Samsung SGH-F480L it had a 5mp camera but the Galaxy Y has 2mp :/. I was expecting 5mp or more. You know, an improvement. Oh well...
Same! I found this app that lets you change the album artwork for each song, called iTag, but I don't want to do that for each song because it takes AGES! Thumbs up my other comment so someone can reply with the solution!
Of course, I forgot to say. The phone is more worthy than the price. Only 200 Bucks for all those specs. It has everything which the S2 has. Only thing it doesn't have is a wide screen like the S2.

Doesn't the 2 mega pixel camera of Galaxy Y deliver the quality of a 2 mega pixel camera. Even the Nokia 6600 with photoRite SP with autofix activated could take more colourful pic than a 1.3MP camera. I wanna know about Galaxy Y's 2MP camera quality when compared to other 2MP cameras - not 8 or 12MP cameras. Somebody please reply.
Hey girl, u need to know that cell phones with Android doesn't have a big duration. I've never had an Sansung. But I know some brands that dont have a good battery duration. And you can download apps to resolve this problem ( improve it!)

my mom has this phone and it works perfectly.my mom prefers this rather than the iPhone because this is lightweight and still fits the jeans pocket .

It's very cool for an ENTRY phone. Don't expect killer graphics but just regular phone graphics.

@basjje555 when you take the back off of your SGY on the left there is a slot to put it in, it's labelled microSD! Hope this helps :)

That smartphone is really good my friend has got it and i really like it,but its minus is its 2mp camera.
