Hi.
This is Jessie with Sharp Edges in Oklahoma.
And today I wanted to talk about what you do if you get a snag in your thinners?
And this applies to thinners, chunkers, any type of texturing shear.
So a lot of times, and it's quite common that in these toothed shears, that sometimes you'll get a catch.
Like, you know, usually it's in the first few teeth and you'll feel it kind of catch, and it won't want to close all the way.
That's because there's usually a little nick in this solid blade coming from the tooth side.
So what you can do is you can try to take your forefinger and thumb slightly, spread the blades apart, get it to close past that nick, and wherever you feel that nick, pinch it, and then slowly open it.
And then same thing again. Spread it, pinch it, slowly open it over that spot where the nick is.
Do that three or four times, and a lot of times you'll get past that and they can continue to use the shears.
If you've done that a few times and you still feel that nick and it's still catching, then just close it, put a rubber band on it, and set it aside until your sharpener can look at it.
