Bro Skyjay inspired me to keep going. The fact that he made top 8 and took Sonix to game 5 is all I needed to see to get my momentum back up. I am taking a break from playing Smash this weekend since I am at my mom's, but goodness I already want to play the game again. It's gonna be fun grinding.

Umebura 10 had 98k peak viewers, 42k average viewers, and 57k viewers in grands. LMBM had 57k peak viewers, 17k average viewers, and I can’t see grands because it wasn’t in the top 5 of sets. Source: escharts

I think Raarchyor is well positioned to lead the sora meta from now on. Not only is he a very talented player, but Europe lacks a properly top player of two of Sora's hardest match-ups: Fox and Diddy Kong. I could see him getting top 8 at a European major, especially if we have more than we did last year. Good luck to Kameme, even if he never competes he again he will be remembered as one of Japan's all time greats!

I don't know anyone else besides Acola who's using Steve at top 8 and it also makes him a big red target to go for. I've seen people showing their dislike towards both him and Steve, what happened to hate the character and not the player?
"Hate the character and not the player" is something the Smash community seems to have forgot about.
Imma be honest, a lot of players who hate Steve, hate Acola and Onin, too. If that wasn't true, Onin would have never received those ____ threats and players wouldn't be so desperate to discredit Acola whenever he is in discussion for being number 1.
There are people who actually hate Steve but respect Steve players, but not too many from my experience.

An argument could be made that the difference in viewership occurred since LMBM had no japanese attendance (as far as I know) and umebura10 had both NA and EU attendants (popular ones at that), meaning that umebura had NA, EU, AND japanese fans watching. just a thought
The point he was making was a steve banned tournament doesn’t get more views than a non steve banned tournament. The two most interesting Japanese players don’t attend steve banned tournaments.
I really appreciate this kind of video that is presented as a recap with smash headlines. I really enjoy smash bros and try to stay up to date with all the tournaments, but I rarely have the time to sit down and watch them entirely so I miss a lot of storylines. From my viewer stand point I like to watch entertaining smash. And when I see Acola in top 8 I tend to not even bother watching. Light, spargo, Leo, tweek, skyjay. When I see players like this I know im not wasting my time and im going to see something amazing. It's not that I don't respect Steve players or think he should be banned necessarily I just dont want to watch them play. And I don't watch them play.

The people who don't watch sets that only have bland characters, like swordies, just dip without doomsaying. On the flipside most of the Steve haters will watch his sets just to complain, but they don't even need him to be in the set to complain about him. On the one hand there are people who are actually bored, and on the other are people who are the exact opposite of that but can't break kayfabe to admit that they live to hate heel-characters.

Skyjay in the crew battle was unhinged. 10 stocks. And only the three Tweek Banjo stocks could be argued as gifts. (1 from Jakal, 3 from Kurama, 3 stocked Webb just clean, then 3 Tweek & Kazooie.)

8:05 My friends and I stop watching streams (we watch them kinda like football sometimes) when Steve comes on. Sonix used to be annoying too but at least the play looks clean and he can turn it up to 11 and roll people. Steve is just... I feel it could be so much more creative than it is. It also invalidates so many matchups, a lot of which we enjoy watching. The slow play from Steve is also so much more boring. You cant really approach Steve effectively without a mistake on the Steves end.
Just my experience. Should it be an anti Steve argument? Idk but I dont like watching his matches at all. Easier to stop watchin and smoke and talk for half an hour, maybe the BO5 will be over by then (if we even remember to put it back on)

Nah Steve is too good. He's like meta knight in brawl and bayo in smash 4. Just ban them. Nintendo will never nerf him. Yet they nerfed much worse characters in the past. So we as a community need to decide what is fair.
LMBM was 100% more hype because Steve was banned. I don't think there's any point in arguing otherwise. Player motivation without him around is visibly so much higher, and the sets are better because of it.

Acola is carried. I don't think many people consider him number 1 as he gets wrecked whenever he chooses someone other than Steve.

Or he has… a main? I mean no one is saying Steve isn’t busted, but you can’t really expect anyone to do just as well with their secondaries as their main. Pretty much the only person in ultimate who has done that is MKLeo.

I’ve seen both acola and gluttony play secondaries in bracket, but I’ve only seen one of those two take games with their secondaries and it wasn’t gluttony.
