Ngl and might be unpopular, but i miss the cooking recipe videos. Stuff like sharpening a knife or learning a new dish felt like better content than these tier lists. A tier list once in a while isnt bad but at this point its getting to be a weekly basis and just isnt entertaining. Hoping the older video formats make a come back
Yeah...my uncle is VP of one of the departments at Sysco (actual real corporate Sysco, not a location) so it's funny hearing all this shit and I give him shit all the time about ALL of their products since I currently work in a restaurant
UK based viewer here. I find these videos intriguing as most of the restaurants you go to, we don’t have in large numbers in the UK. McDonald’s, KFC and Burger King reign supreme. That said, we have a handful of some of the other restaurants but they are few and far between. A Jollibee just opened near me so I decided to try it based on this video and the Chicken Sandwich video and I was blown away by how much better it is than KFC. Chicken was flavoursome and crunchy! Thanks Josh!
I have always been a LJS chicken tender stan. We saw the video on recommended and my wife asks me what I think the best is and I said LJS before even watching the video. Thank you for highlighting the GOAT.
Oh 100% you can tell he loves it, i dont even love fast food but who wouldnt love making bank while taking a business expensed roadtrip to eat food? Tbh im surprised it took him this long to even get to this kind of content...
@@skillcoiler Yea, I don't get why he keeps putting the restaurant qualifications disclaimer at the beginning of these when he keeps going to Jollibee and they have neither of those qualifications in America. Worldwide sure, but in America they have less than 100 locations scattered around the coastlines.
Like I said in a reply, I appreciate the footwork you're putting in for these fast-food tierlists. While I know some people are really waiting for more cooking videos, you have been the only person to provide a consistent ranking to all of the junk we normally inevitably eat at some point, and you are doing god's work by saving us a lot of trips and money, my man. Looking forward to whatever you got to put out in the future, cooking or tierlists. Cheers.
In no way should Cane's have been lower than DQ's. DQ is absolutely ass. It's almost certainly more flavorful than Cane's, but has the texture of soggy cardboard. Cane's is actually juicy, textured well, and you can taste the chicken.
LJS is terribly underrated by most people. I try not to eat much fast food, but I'll get their fish and chicken platter about once a month and I'm rarely disappointed.
I've always liked them cos they got good portions for their price. Like at raising Cane's they don't put any chicken in the box and yeah I get it's healthier BUT IF I WANTED HEALTHY I WOULD BE EATING A SALAD. Like Everytime I go to LJS I always leave full and happy. Raising Cane's or something like that got me feeling like I shouldve gotten something else. And it always the top spots you see on social media like Chick Fil A or Jollibee
Have y’all ever thought for a second that bro might be experiencing burnout and that’s why we’re getting tier videos? Maybe he just want to be silly and free
For sure. But if like a band you love started putting out songs that sucked, does it matter if they are burned out and going through the tedium to you? Does that magically make you start liking the songs? You just kinda move on. I've pretty much moved. I drop in on. JW video every now and then to see what's up and am always pretty disappointed
I'm not surprised by long john winning. They use the same technique from their fish experience only with a slightly thicker batter to correlate with the longer cooking time of the chicken.
I wish there was one closer to me...the local one in my neck of the woods burned down after I ate there like....4 times and was just starting to become a regular there. It was in a horrible location as far as getting in and out cause they didn't do any work on the entry so it was a weird hump that made getting into and out of the place really weird. There's a Zaxby's there now and they fixed that before they built it. The closest one to me right now is 58 minutes away...the one that used to be in my neck of the woods? Maybe 15-19 depending on traffic.
In Netherlands we call this Kippeling, after Kibbeling from which the fried fish in batter is inspired. But then there is the eternal war between what was first, Kibbeling... or fish n chips from the "island people"
I was expecting them to mention something about fishy taste. I wonder how they avoided that. Or maybe it just made it taste more flavorful. Maybe they only use fresh oil and don't let the fishy flavor get brown. Or do they have a chicken-only fryer?
Next y’all should try every bread at chain restaurants!!!! Ex. Cheddar’s croissants, Red Lobster’s cheddar bay biscuits, Cheesecake Factory’s brown bread, Olive Garden’s breadsticks, Texas Roadhouse’s rolls, etc.
Y’all missed a hidden gem, Krispy Krunchy Chicken. I don’t care if they are pretty much just located in gas stations and liquor stores, they have top tier tendies and thousands of locations. Justice for KKC!
I've only ever seen one in my life, and they went out of business ages ago. It's not usually a good sign when all of their locations are mixed with another fast food place. Most are Taco Bell and KFC which makes sense since YUM! foods owns them all.
When I was younger and lived in the middle of nowhere, it was what I always wanted whenever we went to the city. That or Red Lobster. I haven't been in forever though, now that I live in the city. I am ashamed.
man he breaks his own rules every single video just by including the "must have a nationwide presence". i live in the northeast and have never even seen 3/4 of these in person lmao
I just want to say as a long time fan Joshua, I love that you do both: recipe videos but also these fun style edit videos. People have infinite ways of googling recipes and I respect how you stay relevant
assuming he actually got fresh chicken lol. I WANT to love Daves, we have one near where i live, but ive been 3-4 times and the service is consistently atrocious. Food always just sitting in the window while a million other orders come and go...its so heartbreaking because on paper i wanna love them, but every experience ive had has been god awful
Just ate there about a month ago and tbh the best part about Dave's was the pickles, and that's about it, I've had better spicy chicken sandwiches at Burger King lol
Man a lot of people here are complaining about the rankings. The issue is- Josh only gets to try these once. And its totally dependent upon how the kitchen is run. Ive had incredibly awful raising canes and ive had delicious. It depends. Point is, this is what happens when you dont take care of the food you make.
I've made a personal choice to never eat at canes again because of the 3 times I've eaten there I've gotten food poisoning twice and they were all at separate locations, plus two of the times I was drunk and it didn't even taste good . (no the two times I was drunk didn't correlate with the food poisoning). Honestly Joshes score makes me feel validated. Although I will say I wish when he did these videos they always did the scores separate from each other because it feels like the scores are always very similar.
exactly location and management quality is incredibly important. mind you with Whataburger where I'm at, its always average but when I worked at my location we had quality control in the morning but evenings never did. the one in Pensacola as fucking 5 stars and my buddy who lives there's tell me they're fast and delicious. blew my mind honestly. canes the canes by me is great always on order crisp and juicy always clean inside but I've heard horror stories of other locations. the zaxbys closest to me absolute ass dry and tasted frozen. people just don't understand quality control is you best friend and biggest enemy depending on management
nah, seeing his rankings and just how he cooks in general its about as bland as it comes. He must have british blood cause his recipes are as underwhelming as his rankings.
SYSCO doesn’t process the chicken tenders - they just deliver them. My guess is most of these were processed by Tyson. Many fast food purveyors have their own contracts for proprietary recipes with large scale food processors - like Tyson. SYSCO does contract with food processing companies to provide a wide range of products, at a range of price points and quality levels, which are provided in SYSCO labeled packaging, but SYSCO doesn’t process or manufacture the products they deliver.
“At the end of the day” (what a ridiculous waste of words,) he’s disparaging the distributor for the poor quality of a product produced by someone else.
@@r.scottpurdy6512 I agree with you, slightly, although I don’t care if he disparages Sysco or us foods or Gordon’s, or hell, even pfg. To your point, though, probably none of those larger fast food corps buy Sysco labeled frozen tenders, they most likely have their own contracts with facilities that produce a product specific to their brand, and an agreement with Sysco for national or regional distribution, depending on their needs.
"they're afraid to add spice because their customer base is too White" imagine saying "they're afraid to make it ____ because they're customer base is too black". Do you see the double standard?
Love seeing Long John’s get the recognition they deserve for their tenders. I’ve loved them since I was a kid, the little cwispy’s at the bottom were always sooo good. W Long Johns
As someone who worked at a Carls Jr. , at my location, yes, we did hand bread the chicken tenders. And yes, it was absolutely (disgusting/revolting), because the flour wasn't always sifted, and the egg batter was expected to last throughout the day, for 6hrs-8hrs, in an open top, mini ice cream, freezer. The method was to open a raw bag of chicken tenders, dip it in the batter, roll it in the flour mixture, and fry it for atleast 5min. Also, Josh is right about the fry oil, being too dirty. If your tenders ever look THAT dark, the fry oil hasn't been changed over, for ATLEAST 3 days. Depending on how (busy/active) that establishment is, for its location. So please, dont always equate dark tenders as, "overdone," but rather, that the oil is too dirty. Also, don't try to be snide, as a customer, and "demand," more "fresh" tenders, because you noticed, that they are too dark. It WILL backfire. To change fry oil, its a task in it of itself, that'll take atleast 45min-1hr15min for a proper, non hazardous, change over, to fresh oil, thats risen to proper temperatures. Plus, its mainly left to the managers discretion, when they would find the time feasible to do it. For instance, the manager isn't going to change the oil over, during a rush hour, and or during daylight. The task is mainly left for night crew, during non operating, clean up times. So, you're out of luck, if your order of tenders, has this unsatisfactory quality, since nothing can be done to fix it, in a timely manner. You'll just have to ask for a refund, and or you'll have to get your tender fix, somewhere else.
1hr 15 minutes to change fry oil??? LOL. I just left Chick Fil a as a manager and every 32 fry drops we changed oil, and did daily "boil-outs" of the machines. We were one of the top rated locations in the nation, its HILARIOUS that you actually think those things take any longer than 15-30 minutes tops with someone whos capable, ALL while we're actually busy every day..
Carl's Jr's tenders used to be S-tier, because they were real chicken pieces (sometimes with a little crunchy bit of breastbone cartilage), actually tender, and decently browned. Fryer oil that's gone for several days without removing burned bits can be gross, but if it has a little color to it that's the butter zone. Brand-new oil is like licking a fudgecicle and realizing you forgot to open the wrapper...
@@EmilyGodsey-g1g Understand, that not every kitchen has those luxuries, nor the proper staffing, to be that frequent. The fact, that you found it necessary, to compare your notes with mine, from a different kitchen (aka different equipment), different fast food chain, different "customer popularity," different roles and different staffing, is too misplaced. While I am glad to hear, that you currently have those abilities, for your current place of work as manager, some places still need to make do with less. Where I had previously worked, we were not allowed to change the oil out so frequently, unless given permission by the manager, because our kitchen didn't have the proper reservoir to do so, without overflowing hot oil everywhere, and flooding the entire kitchen. We were told to hold off such things, to avoid creating such a hazard. Otherwise, the entire restaurant would have to close for the day, and lose sales. Our fryers were also limited. We only had 3 basins, on 1 machine, and we could only dump one basin at a time (when we were allowed). During that time, when one basin is being dumped, that means only TWO are functioning. When you have fries (3min), poppers (3min), onion rings (4min), nuggets (4min), zucchini (4min) and tenders (5min), that need to be hand breaded (add an extra 3min to 5min, so 8min to 10min total, for ONE fresh tender batch), and served in portion sizes of 3 to 5 pieces, IF there isn't multiple [example: 3 orders of a 5 piece (time wise, that'd be about 15min to 25min on that order)] on top of not being able to mix the products, in one (basin/basket) for food contamination purposesonly, and only having 1 shift lead acting as lead, cashier [taking orders in lobby, over headset, bagging food, getting (drinks/shakes), handling drive thru], being the spare cook, 1 actual burger cook 1 actual fry cook, and MAYBE 1 actual cashier. . . . . Having only TWO basins to work with, for any amount of time during daylight hours, was not feasible, without falling behind. Count your blessings where they are, with your place of work, and be mindful that others may not have them. (Also, some of that additional time that your overlooking, is to FILTER the OTHER fryers, BEFORE the final dump. I do apologize, if that time calculation was a bit confusing to understand. I just figured other establishments also do this, as a regular thing.)
@@blairhoughton7918 You would be quite surprised, by how many customers would disagree with your opinion, and be wanting a (redo/refund) on an order like that. Sometimes I do wonder if its not so much the flavor they're worried about, as much as it is the visual appeal, for a food photo.
I work at a Hardee’s and yeah changing/filtering the oil doesn’t take that long. We do it once towards the end of breakfast sometimes twice depending on how much chicken we cook that morning. But I do agree if the breading isn’t sifted like it’s supposed to be it’ll come out funky looking. And now we store the tenders and fillets that are cooked in a warmer, if they sit to long in there they’ll taste horrible.
As a lifelong Long John's stan, I'm not surprised in the least; they've always owned the "fry" game with everything they serve. Although the recipes have evolved, in the 70's/80's there was no better mouth-feel taste sensation than a gob full of chicken plank and their fries. Can still taste it 40 years later.
So real. Cane's has a good texture chicken tendy, the vast majority of people ain't denying that unless they had some mid locations. But ALWAYS, the flavor is just nothing. They don't add a speck of salt to it
Yeah, the main reason they make it so bland is because they expect you to "sauce to taste." The fries are WELL salted and then you have the toast as another "dipper." I still prefer my local Popeyes because I like a bit of heat in mine. Not surprised LJS did well, their breading is very different because they use the same one on their fish. Like always on these "fried" competitions it often comes down to when the joint replaced its oil last. Most of these were no surprise. CFL isn't really supposed to be crunchy, so it would never have done well in a competition like this either. CFL and KFC's "original" are more about the breading keeping the juices inside than being crispy. Whataburger's tenders have always sucked -- par-cooked and frozen. And FWIW some of these with fry them extra crispy if you want. (Canes will double batter/fry them for certain -- but you have to wait)
I love watching these videos but quality varies so much by region, and by the team that makes it. Ingredient sourcing must vary by region, depending on the chain. Its fun to watch even though I may disagree. Im just glad that if I do, it's because I've been lucky to have a solid crew make my food. Judging multiple fast food places off one order is impossible to do accurately. For chicken fingers especially, they rely on their sauces and supporting sides/drinks, *cough* canes.
My dad was GM for a LJS growing up, can confirm they hand bread their chicken and fish as it's ordered. Also secret menu item is French fries dipped in the batter. Absolute GASSS
The ice cream and sweets are decent. The breakfast items are mid. The burgers are god awful (I haven’t tried the new smash burgers admittedly). And all the fried foods, I love mozzarella sticks but 4/5 times you are going to taste old ass bitter oil.
So happy that Long John's got some love and won in this contest! They have been criminally underrated forever, and the only thing I ever get there is their chicken PLANKS (they're called planks not tenders), and you have to have them with the tartar sauce... sounds weird, but it's the perfect match made in heaven! Best tartar sauce in the world, I've never found one like it, and the chicken and the crispy breading is just on a whole 'nother level! Completely unique batter, NOT breading. Go have some LJS!
I will always remember as a kid going to long John silvers with my family and always being blown away by both their fish and chicken (I especially loved the little bits of breading that you'd get in the bottom of the basket just so good)
The running joke is that they're only still in business because they're secretly a drug front like Los Pollos on Breaking Bad, but they always hit the spot for me every time I go there.
As someone that never gets the signature sauce at places, I do love that you rated just the tenders. Having said that, I think a second video where you did tenders/nuggets with only a place's signature sauce would also be great.
This makes me so glad to live in Florida where I can just go get good chicken tenders at Publix whenever I want. The breading is sometimes a lil soft because they sit in a hot box but they still taste good and they're NOT Sysco tenders.
Just wanna say I LOVE the tier videos Josh! Everyone's totally entitled to their opinions on which content they like better but I look forward to these a lot!!
Del taco being above Raising cane's is a joke. I don't care if you think it's lacking flavor, it's an actual chicken tenders unlike that flaccid thing del taco threw out
@@underfirej chick fil a is one of the most overrated places ever only thing it has going for it is the sauce the rest of the menu other places do 10x better
Yeah, as a dude who loves chicken I feel this video. Nobody does chicken good anymore. I feel like it all comes from the same place & tastes like a cafeteria at the hospital. Hell even non fast food places can't do chicken tenders for crap. Someone could really come along and make millions with the right concept and delivery.
There is a problem with "woody breast" a consequence of rapid growing chicken in poor living conditions. Most companies don't want it so there is effort to eliminate it but it's an expensive problem to manage. Pasture raised chicken is just so much more expensive. It's not bad in price if you are comparing it to quality beef but it's like 3-5x more than your economy chicken that is far more likely to have woody breast problem.
Hmm. Maybe a loophole. They have over 300 locations AND a national presence; but not 300 IN the nation, just coast-to-coast breadth, in 14 states.... Yeah I'm throwing the flag anyway. Jollibee should be dq'ed the same as Bojangles.
@@Masi-One the problem is that he lets Jollibee in even though he doesn't go to places like cookhouse and slim chickens which have more locations in the us
0:51 “ chicken is stringy”, look up the term woody chicken. This is what they’re turning the entire chicken industry into. Moist tender chicken that taste like chicken is a thing of the past
Cane's is carried by the sauce. Tenders are bland on purpose for it. Coleslaw exists to be replaced by texas toast. Cane's exists solely for the sauce and toast.
I had the massive misfortune of living in TX for a few years but I will say, my favorite chicken tenders were from Chicken Express. Their corn nuggets and mashed taters are bomb, too. We need a Chicken Express video.
I'd love to see videos about local small fastfood places being compared to those chains. Traveling to different cities and giving small places a shoutout
me, a brazillian, living where kfc and popeyes are the only fast food chicken chains, drooling at every tender you show in this video while completely ignoring the descriptions XD
I need to tag my roommate. We always argue that if a tender needs a sauce to make taste good, then it’s not good. Thank you Joshua for validating my opinion
Yeah, this is entertaining, but in reality fast food chicken varies greatly from location to location across chains. The Carls Jr in my town also does awesome tenders. Also had really great tenders at Chick-fil-a recently. But the locations Josh went to obviously didn’t.
Honestly, hard to tell when all of these tier list and comparison videos feel exactly the same. I'm sure Josh and the team do them because they perform well, but I do wish they'd go back to some good old fashioned educational cooking videos. Josh used to be a fave of mine, but folks like Adam Ragusea and Andy Cooks are way more fun to watch these days.
Thats absurd to me. I have had Canes once, and I only ate about half of it before giving the rest away to someone else. Its just comically bland. I would take frozen chicken tenders in the air fryer any day of the week.
@@e_eyster IDK, Ive only had it once but it was some of the freshest, juiciest and most flavorful chicken Ive had at a fast food place. I appreciate you can just enjoy the chicken flavor without being assaulted with 3x the sodium allowance per day and tons of seasoning. Much like a good steak - sometimes its best to let the meat shine through. To me, that's what Raising Canes is like, the sauce is good too. But I mostly appreciated the pure chicken flavor. There is such a thing as over-seasoning food. As for the winner to this video, LJS was alright when we had one in town, but it was horrifically salty the majority of the time. I am kind of shocked that was the "winner" of this challenge.
I USED to have them all the time, before the post-covid inflation. They first came to our area in about 2016, our family became ADDICTED with how quick, delicious, and cheap they were. Theyre everywhere around phoenix now. Raising Canes probably had BY FAR the worst price increases in the fast food industry IMO. They went from being the cheapest high quality chicken that I could ACTUALLY get full on with box combo. At around 9 dollars. Today that same box combo is around 14-15 (I would need to check the menu again, but thats about right). Now none of my family goes there anymore. While all fast food has raised prices, raising canes has NO APP, no deals, and seemingly no coupons, they increased by more than their direct competitors. They went from being cheaper than chic fil a or Popeye's for the amount of food, to jumping ahead of BOTH of them. And QUITE A BIT if you factor in the offers and deals you can get for Popeye's/chic fil a. Also a severe drop in consistency/quality that they still havent quite recovered from post covid, likely due to understaffing like a lot of the other chains. If were talking CHICKEN places, not some of these places in the video that do fried chicken as a side thing. Like long john silvers who one this video. There is ONE long john silvers 20 minutes away from me and I'm in the MIDDLE OF THE CITY OF PHOENIX. There's only a few other locations and they're on the far other side towards the far end of the suburbs around 40 min away. If this is how it is in Phoenix, long john silvers is definitely closing for good sometime very soon.
Your cane's rating and reasoning are completely valid. I used to think Cane's supremacy, then i had Wing stop and instatly realized you only go to Cane's for the sauce
8:45 When something is perfect, and the rating of 10 exists, why are things getting a rating of 8?! Just give it a 10 if its perfect 😩🤦🏻♂️. Your scale should be 1-8 if thats the highest you're gonna go 🫤
When I used to work at Chick-fil-A I was a cool and mainly did the breading and make all the chicken, and Ik the oil we used in the fryers in my location wouldn’t let you use the same oil after 4 uses, so after we used the fryer 4 times it would make u switch the oil and dump it, and put in new oil.
I knew bojangles would do well. To anyone up north who’s never had it, come down here and order the supremes box. You can’t be dissatisfied. It’s amazing.
One thing I noticed is that apparently LJS chicken in coated in a "Beer batter" crust rather that the original breading, at least in the video is look that way. I am guessing this gave it a "fish-n-chips" kind of vibe and made it more crunchy and kept it more juicy. So it might not be a fair competition! (or we all are making chicken tenders incorrect and LJS knows better.)
FYI the “Bo’s Chicken Tenders” from Bojangles in this video aren’t available at the vast majority of the chain. Most of us have awful frozen “Chicken Supremes” that are still widely adored for some reason.
You’re talking about the “homestyle” tenders which were unseasoned frozen tenders that were for children. The supremes are the seasoned handmade fresh tenders. Edit to add: they no longer serve the homestyle tenders.
@@deadhead_01 Supremes are not handmade. Bo’s Chicken Tenders are only in new stores outside of Bojangles’ original markets and they’re hand breaded. That’s what they had in this video while filming in Texas. (Edit: The new Bo’s tenders also have been in Nashville, TN area for years now. The old homestyle tenders were also garbage little frozen ones like the supremes.)
@@PapiEats thats not a thing my dude. The supremes are their only current offering. They are hand breaded here in Charlotte, where Bojangles originates from. They could be done differently outside of the Carolinas, as they reduce their menu the further the stores get from their supply chain. But even if thats the case, yall aren’t eating real Bojangles anyways.
@@deadhead_01 I live in Charlotte. Go look at the menu for the San Antonio, TX Bojangles and you’ll see the hand-breaded Bo’s Chicken Tenders. Same with any of the Nashville stores, or the Orlando location. It’s their strategy in new markets where they aren’t serving bone-in chicken, “my dude.”
@@deadhead_01 Looks like RUclips might've hidden my comment with the quote and link but if you compare the menus of any of our Charlotte stores and the brand new ones in Texas or Nashville, TN you'll see the new Bo's Chicken Tenders instead of Supremes

you’re literally my comfort person i love you kislux !
I think the reason Long John Silver's got the top spot is they have to change the oil frequently, and have a dedicated fryer for their chicken.
I agree but folks only look at things from a singular perspective
Dudes a douche to his fanbase and a Meta shill either way, so who cares.
For sure. But if like a band you love started putting out songs that sucked, does it matter if they are burned out and going through the tedium to you? Does that magically make you start liking the songs?
You just kinda move on.
I've pretty much moved. I drop in on. JW video every now and then to see what's up and am always pretty disappointed
More likely it's for the algorythm
Have you ever considered that I don't give a damn? Videos like this are not helpful for a cooking channel.
I know this is irrelevant but the peaches that I just ate were so good.
that’s great
Happy for you bestie !
😂😂😂
The peaches I have been getting lately have not been good. I guess peach season is over here.
hell yeah
Real success is finding your lifework in the work that you love.
I'm not surprised by long john winning. They use the same technique from their fish experience only with a slightly thicker batter to correlate with the longer cooking time of the chicken.
We typically used the same tempura batter, only difference is that we shake it 2 or 3 times instead of 5
I wish there was one closer to me...the local one in my neck of the woods burned down after I ate there like....4 times and was just starting to become a regular there.
@@blairhoughton7918 I wager they have two different fryers, one for the fish and one for the chicken, it would make the most sense.
Man, remember the days when Josh taught us to cook things that far surpassed fast food around America. Those were good times.
I feel Josh is sellin out a bit by being a "critic" rather than showcasing the heart disease and obesity plague of America
I really like him and other American's non-pretentiousness around food. If it tastes great - it's great. No matter if "fast food" or not
Careful now, there might not be anymore magic to be had, i predict tiktok recipes in the future

Hmm, the Texan Toast will be interesting (Raising Cane's).
For Texas Roadhouse's to do well, it would need to include their butter there
Yes, this is a good idea. And bring in a master baker for that.
Y’all missed a hidden gem, Krispy Krunchy Chicken. I don’t care if they are pretty much just located in gas stations and liquor stores, they have top tier tendies and thousands of locations. Justice for KKC!
Yes yes yes, the best chicken tenders
Agreed. Their shit is super slept on and 🔥. The deeper in the hood it is, the better it is.
We have one just down the street, but I've never tried it because I wasn't sure about gas station chicken, but I may have to try it.
Whenever someone ask, "Who's keeping Long John Silvers in business." I always reply, "Me that's who!!!" 😂😂
Only thing I've ever had there were the cheese curds but now I have to try the tenders
I've only ever seen one in my life, and they went out of business ages ago. It's not usually a good sign when all of their locations are mixed with another fast food place. Most are Taco Bell and KFC which makes sense since YUM! foods owns them all.
I've never had a bad meal at LJS. Even from my childhood they have always been fresh and delicious 😋
That beer battered fish and chicken… the hush puppies.. get outta here 🔥
When I was younger and lived in the middle of nowhere, it was what I always wanted whenever we went to the city. That or Red Lobster. I haven't been in forever though, now that I live in the city. I am ashamed.
I love the irony of Josh breaking his #1 rule. Jollibee has 76 locations across America, not 300.
But there's over 1500 in the world?

‘Dave’s Hot Chicken’ only has about 200 locations nationwide, but man they would smoke all these other places in a taste test!
Agreed !!!!
assuming he actually got fresh chicken lol. I WANT to love Daves, we have one near where i live, but ive been 3-4 times and the service is consistently atrocious. Food always just sitting in the window while a million other orders come and go...its so heartbreaking because on paper i wanna love them, but every experience ive had has been god awful
Dave’s hot chicken is miles above what you can get in fast food chains
Also slim chickens has just over 200 locations would be interested in seeing a comparison
Yup, even from the same exact location, different shift, different day, different results.
But you’ve never had it with seasoning 😂😂
nah, seeing his rankings and just how he cooks in general its about as bland as it comes.
At the end of the day, you know what he means by a SYSCO tender: Pre-breaded and frozen.
@@gerber8915but Sysco is not the only company that sells pre-breaded chicken tenders lol
I was so happy to see you do LJS - they are my absolute favorite!!
Love seeing Long John’s get the recognition they deserve for their tenders. I’ve loved them since I was a kid, the little cwispy’s at the bottom were always sooo good. W Long Johns
yaaaas! The cwispy's! MMMMMMMMMM... they were called chicken planks when i was a kid and served in a pirate ship.
Josh: "THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR"
Also Josh: I'll give it an 8/10
That’s because LJS is the most underrated fast food place there is.
When the food is on it’s on.
14:36 the LJS review killed me 🤣 Great editing!
Long John's used to sell wing drummies that they called "Peg Legs," which were frickin' awesome. I wish they'd bring them back.
True, I loved their fish too very tasty.
This is the best assessment of Cane’s chicken that I have ever seen. If it requires sauce to be good then its not a good tendie
So real. Cane's has a good texture chicken tendy, the vast majority of people ain't denying that unless they had some mid locations. But ALWAYS, the flavor is just nothing. They don't add a speck of salt to it
The worst part is you need a ton of sauce to get past how bland it is.
That's always been my biggest issue with it. Also, Braum's sauce is so much better than canes sauce
Yeah, the main reason they make it so bland is because they expect you to "sauce to taste." The fries are WELL salted and then you have the toast as another "dipper."
I still prefer my local Popeyes because I like a bit of heat in mine.
It’s literally everyone’s assessment
Absolute GASSS
holy fuck that sounds awesome. I'm going to have to try that.

So happy that Long John's got some love and won in this contest!
I feel like the overall quality of chicken tenders at every restaurant has gone down over the years. So many places with spongy and stringy chicken.
And the price has sky-rocketed.
I've been saying for YEARS that Long Johns has the best chicken tenders! The breading is to die for.

Thats absurd to me. I have had Canes once, and I only ate about half of it before giving the rest away to someone else. Its just comically bland. I would take frozen chicken tenders in the air fryer any day of the week.
@@e_eyster canes blows, so overrated, never again
Your scale should be 1-8 if thats the highest you're gonna go 🫤
9:57 Let's go CARDINALS!!!!!
Glad I wasn’t the only one to notice! Ik Busch Stadium anywhere!!
Yessir just came here to say the same thing
When I used to work at Chick-fil-A I was a cool and mainly did the breading and make all the chicken, and Ik the oil we used in the fryers in my location wouldn’t let you use the same oil after 4 uses, so after we used the fryer 4 times it would make u switch the oil and dump it, and put in new oil.
4 uses? so you change the oil every 30 minutes?
I knew bojangles would do well. To anyone up north who’s never had it, come down here and order the supremes box. You can’t be dissatisfied. It’s amazing.
The FUIYOHHHHH IN THE BACKGROUND uncle Roger would be proud @7:41
11:37 Josh, you got to have it with the canes sauce!
This video might save long, John silvers from bankruptcy
Never seen any of ur videos, however I have always said long johns has the best tenders. I love the hype yall have given it
LONG JOHN SILVERS LETS GO
One thing I noticed is that apparently LJS chicken in coated in a "Beer batter" crust rather that the original breading, at least in the video is look that way. I am guessing this gave it a "fish-n-chips" kind of vibe and made it more crunchy and kept it more juicy. So it might not be a fair competition! (or we all are making chicken tenders incorrect and LJS knows better.)
If it tastes better then it's probably better.
Sure is!
Beer batter makes fried food worse, so they won going uphill.
@@blairhoughton7918 hot take...
Plz Papa, why don’t you make a recipe so we can eat the best chicken tender? ❤
I miss Long John Silvers. My daughters loved to ring their bell when we left. We enjoyed their combos. Chicken, fish, and fries.
14:57 I like my chicken drippy brah
Jolibee only has 76 locations in the US, why are they on the list?
They just really wanted Jollibee I guess lol
Because he has a hard on for Jollibee. They also don't have a national presence are honestly mid, I question his palate sometimes
Josh loves his Jolibee
I'm still wondering where Guthrie's is the oh of tender restaurants
@@tlbryant4697Screw Guthrie’s!! I have there once, and I’ll never go back!!
It would be interesting to find places with multiple locations close to you and rate and review the #1 combo meal from the same place and rate them for both consistency and overall best.
Got your cookbook for my birthday
“Minimum 300 locations across America”… well why is jollibee still in the running, exit the chat
Oh dang you’re right, it only has like 100
He didn't say that. He said "300 locations". Listen again.
@@eliahabib5111 ok but he also said national presence but Jollibee is only in 14 states, same with Bojangles only being in i believe 17
11:30 He got us with the circle game.
gotttttttem! 👊
