- Minister of Home Affairs Dr Aaron Motsoaledi supports President Cyril Ramaphosa's statement on Operation Dudula.
It's a movement active in different parts of the country that holds xenophobic protests, demanding that foreign nationals produce proof that they are in the country legally.
Dr Motsoaledi says it is up to law enforcement agencies to conduct searches and demand documents from people suspected of being in the country illegally.
The minister spoke to our International News Editor Sophie Mokoena.

Exactly, why people are hiding behind Xenophobia, with my little knowledge I think Dudula is against the illegal influx of foreign nationals, their heartless action to vulnerable south African youth,, destroying them with drugs, The lack of command and control from Public sector,, how could the drugs thrive to this extent in presence, some of our law enforcement officials Saps, traffic have contributed to this mess, bribery at the border gates allowing these foreign nationals to enter the country illegally, some of corrupt traffic officials issue fake driving licence to them putting our lives at risk, some corrupt traffic officials and saps escort illegal cigarettes and drugs with marked state vehicle.Just last week we saw Hawkers in cape town selling medication that was meant for patients, how could that be possible if some corrupt government officials are not involved, so our country is at the verge of collapsing, the justice department is also reluctant to deal decisively with this drugs lords, look at our Taxi ranks so filthy because of so many stalls they have erected , some pretending to be hairdressers in the meantime selling drugs and doing abortions, So Dudula has no choice but to step and save South Africa because the authorities seem not to care.
