For vaginal atrophy you DO need to insert (use) the applicator into the vagina. FYI. Thank you. I have been using Estring for years but the copay has gone up to $180 for the 3 month ring. Very convenient., though. Ive had two different nurse practitioners tell me that vaginal estrogen causes cancer because it’s systemic. How do I find a doctor who will listen to me and give me correct information?!?
Super helpful! Many years I suffered from UTI’s pretty much every 3-4 yrs but these past 2-3 years I have been getting them more often like every 4 months! So the gyno suggested the pill form estrogen and I got another UTI after 3 mths …I was so disappointed but this video was helpful in understanding that it is probably due to the urethra so I definitely will use the gel form because my UTI’s are due to painful sex and vaginal atrophy… thanks will confirm results once I switch to the gel estrogen!
Can it be used if I’m 50? I’ve only gone 4 months without a period. Been having hot flashes for about 6 yrs. or do I have to wait 12 full months? I know it not for hot flashes.
Oooop this might explain my uti's. Painful intercourse, ect. Im on Projest E which is helping my hot flashes, now I guess a cream would help with the other local issues, but which cream?
I am 54 not menstruating anymore, a year or so, just recently went to get a pap smear after 2 years, OMG! it was excrutiating, so painful, i was almost in tears, i thought it was because i had a yeast infection, but i do notice a thinning of my uterus, very itchy since last year, can you prescribe something or where do i go,?
So sorry to hear this! We can not give individual medical advice or treatment over the internet. Please see a physician near you who is well versed in post and peri-menopausal pelvic changes. You deserve relief!
I used this cream for a few weeks and then got another UTI. I was SO FRUSTRATED! I found an answer! I started using 2000 mg per day of D-mannose. (any brand) 1000 mg morning and again in the evening. Haven't had a uti since I began using it years ago. I used to get them every couple of months! D-mannose keeps the bacteria from sticking to your bladder and it cannot form an infection. Your body will not become immune to it. It saved my life! Taking antibiotics every couple of months is horrible for your health.

Oh, is Estrogen a hormone replacement? My mother and sister got uterine and ovarian cancers. One doctor 25 years ago told me I should not take hormone replacements because I could get cancer?
I’m 27 and my doctor wants to start me on topical eostrogen because I have chronic perineal, vulva and clitoral fissures for at least 10 years. I also have chronic cystitis since I had a baby last year and had a urethral tear. I also have zero libido for 3 years. Is this safe at my age and what about the side effects???
My girlfriend just got a Rx for Yuvafem 10mcg vaginal pills, but after reading the side effects is leary of trying them. How bad are they? She's 60 and I'm 70, thanks.

Will it help my libido post menopause?
Thank you. I have been using Estring for years but the copay has gone up to $180 for the 3 month ring. Very convenient., though. I did get a discount through Pfizer for several years but my copay now is 3 times as expensive. The employee last contacted said to get a pharmacy coupon. I'm not elligible for the coupon, though Pfizer says on their site last year that I would still qualify since I have been on the discount program for several years. My pharmacy closed then Walgreens say they cannot get Estring. Guess I can save money on a cream.
Thank you, you explained it beautifully.
I was just prescribed estradiol 1g and the next day after I used it my heartbeat has been a little wonky so I haven’t used any more. Is this uncommon?
@Gaye - I've just started to use Estradiol 0.01 cream for the past 2 nights, what I noticed is that I'm a little drowsy, but I will continue to use it. After watching this video I'll use the method mentioned, which is near the outside and around the inside opening of the Vag...
Can probiotics pills be taken along with estrogen cream?
What is the brand of cream you recommend? Also what strength? Thank you for reply.
I recommend whatever is affordable for you and prescribed by your physician with a good conversation of your needs and goals. A common Rx is estradiol 0.01%

Question I have - I was taken off HRT (Estradiol) by my doctor and told to use the vaginal cream for vaginal atrophy. Would I be able to crush the pills I was given and add them to a cream to make my own Estradiol cream.? My dose was .5mg daily. I had a complete hysterectomy at 44 I am now 64. No other medical issues.

I'm 39 and been having UTI constantly over the last 3 years, antibiotics don't help anymore. I'm devastated. Do you think I might be a candidate for vaginal estrogen cream?Am I already perimenopausal?😔thank you!
I had the same problem. I am using the estradiol and raw probiotics vaginal care from garden of life. I am felling better so far.

Ive had two different nurse practitioners tell me that vaginal estrogen causes cancer because it’s systemic. How do I find a doctor who will listen to me and give me correct information?!?
Your question is my question too. Dr can you answer please?
It is not absorbed into the blood stream.
Did you get any relief?
@@labab1048 I did ..
Can it be used if I’m 50? I’ve only gone 4 months without a period. Been having hot flashes for about 6 yrs. or do I have to wait 12 full months? I know it not for hot flashes.
Don’t wait. Tell your doctor about 6 years of hot flashes. Get on HRT immediately. It prevent other diseases that your doctor will not treat for
Oooop this might explain my uti's.
Pacific Northwest Urology Specialists, PLLC how do we find a good provider?
How long do i have to use it to be effective im in primenopause and i have been using this for two weeks but im still uncomfortable
Which exactly Doctor do this treatment ?
Gynecologists and urogynecologists. Must be licensed and trained on the specific equipment.
Is vagifem enough to help UTI’s?
Will the stuff I can get on Amazon work? Or does it have to be prescription?
Estrogen cream requires a prescription
👍. My family loves your channel. + Advice. Gracias.
