Guys i just made this i cant believe how mind blowing it is try this Za'atar Equal parts, ground chili flakes, thyme, oregano, marjoram, sumac, toasted sessamy seeds, salt 1/2 part,
Amazing as always ❤️👍🏾👍🏾 Actually zaa'tar also comes in different flavors and colors based on sumac Ratio and what kind of nuts you've blended with it like peanut, cashew, nuts, fresh sesame etc.. And that's because the oils in those give zaa'tar a little more consistency and flavor of course But toasted sesame seeds are irreplaceable for sure
It ain’t “zataar”, it’s za’tar, with the stress on the first consonant. My favorite is Jordanian za’tar, eaten with just olive oil and a little salt or better with Labneh, a little olive tapenade, shattah hot pepper paste and chopped walnuts. A fantastic breakfast
@@ILIKEUALOT any Arabic grocery store should have the different versions. I make the olive tapenade myself by buying deli olives, pits removed, from the Arabic store and chopping them in the food processor. I then preserve them in olive oil mixed with a little Canary brand Shatta hot pepper sauce. When it’s time to enjoy, I spread out the Za’tar, add some labneh or kefir cheese, put a tablespoon of the olive tapenade and a tablespoon of shatta on the za’tar along with chopped walnuts and olive oil. Enjoy with fresh warm pita bread. Healthiest most delicious breakfast ever.
Thanks, Nima, for the great video & for the correct Farsi (?) pronunciation of za'atar. Now for your English lesson ;o) : "tangy" is pronounced tang + ee; tang as in sang or rang + ee. Not tangey as in tangerine. Now I'm going to add a bit more sumac to the za'atar I made yesterday (I thought it needed a little something.) Thanks so much & may 2025 bring you peace & joy. From Paula in France.
This video literally help me to understand the Za'atar.I was thinking this is only one herb and sesame seeds mixed but now i noticed, its a mix of different herbs. I have eaten from different food stalls and im curious to know how the make it tangy/sour? In local Tandoor/mud oven this is not tangy. does Sumic makes it tangy?
Warning: Zaatar is delicious and may be habit forming. ; ) It's also good on many savory foods or even toasted on flatbread. (manakish - sorry for the bad spelling.)
One mone question for Olive Oil...Im using for Bourges Extra Vigin but when I taste it alone, it doesn't taste good a bit sour taste. Can you tell like what taste the original olive oil should feel? Thank you in Advance
if there are any middle eastern grocers near you they should definitely have some, if you dont you could maybe check some East Asian grocers as we do share many spices in our cuisines
Ok we all agree that zaatar is delicious but you can’t claim that it’s ”very good for the brain” because the only country in the Middle East that is economically and technologically developed close to US standards is Israel, and we all know that it is the fact that Israelis came from Europe and US with secular education which leads to a strong economy. So while is delicious, zaatar is not good for the brain. Unless you want to blame the 50-60 years economic gap between Israel and other Middle East countries, on the will of allah, which will make total sense.
The economic gap is due to Israeli aggression and oppression fuck face. Their indiscriminate bombings show they are a backwards people with no regard for human life
Very well explained and excellent content. Keep it up .
I'm Polish and its easy for me to say Zatar the way you say it :) Thank you for the recipe, I will definitely make it !

I bought sumac and zatar recently
If I made it at home, would I have to use dried herbs or can I use fresh ?😊
It's generally used with dried herbs. but you can go ahead ant try making it with fresh herbs!

No idea what Bourges EVOO is (I'm in France), but I suppose any olive oil from East Asia (aka Middle East) would be most authentic.
i even eat it on popcorn and potato
Where to buy sumac

Where is farsi? Why you have written in farsi? For clicks?
Show, dont Tell.
Dear "FreeYourBrains:" if it were good for the brain, I would suggest you eat a lot of it.
You’re so handsome
Zataar tastes like salty mud 🤔

😂😂😂😂
Seriously brah - delete your moronic comment. It's off topic and completely disrespectful
Of course it's good for you!!
I just ate zaatar and i find you lacking in terms of intelligence, is that enough evidence?
