That’s an interesting point about playing the button. I’m one of the guys that raises it big bc I’m in position lol, especially if I’m squeezing my straddle
@@BluffaloSam yessir! warning: lots of words below, dont read it unless you're really bored - just got done with an insane session, was down basically 1.5 buy-ins at one point, just couldn't make a hand to save my life.. a super VIP sat at the table and we eventually got all in pre flop my AK vs his Q4s for $600, somehow held with A high winning lol so now up like 1 buy-in, then maybe 10 minutes later I raise JJ go 5 ways to a flop J53 all spades, first set I flopped all night out of 9 pocket pairs, the vip leads $50, I call, guy behind me makes it $125 with $75 behind, vip all in for $250 total, im sure im against a flush somewhere here but I eventually worked out the odds that I was getting 5 to 2 so had plenty of equity, and thought maybe like 1 in 20 times or something, villain behind has 55 and maybe the vip just has AsX, so called and lost to villain behind QTss no board pair run out, VIP had 76o no spade 😂 so won a little side pot, but was a board pair away from a $1200 cashout after a grueling session. anyways still a winning session of $60 after 7 hours 😅 gonna save the runout run good for the REALLY big pots down the road
With the open raise sizing I usually go to 20 as standard size from MP or later (2/5) and from EP to 15. Since we are very likely to play OOP post we like to keep the pot a little smaller on average. Also if we are 3bet the 3bet will usually be smaller as well. Can exploitatively still open to 20 from EP with premiums as live player pools are unlikely to notice. Also when you talked about getting two streets of value I usually prefer to bet flop and turn as we can get value from both made hands and draws, but if we go turn and river we can only get value from made hands on the river
Yeah, I've been adjusting to that, but I only use CO as 4x button as 5x, rest 3x. I prefer turn and River, I get so many Hero calls from like bottom pair with this line, I also really like having a strong Check back range.
@@BluffaloSam yeah that’s true. Think you can go either way but on draw heavy boards I prefer flop and turn. People always assume you have nothing when you check back which is nice
@@TommyD105 Yeah, it's good to mix between betting and checking there, but I think I have enough value that likes to bet flop that I can still include some top pairs into flop check range.
in the final narration, @14:10 you called his hand "56 of hearts" which would have been a flush, but graphic shows 5h6d which is probably not right either, as it looks like one of his cards has a black suit. but 56o is probably the correct hand as you won the pot.
the first hand of vlog was A-T i think, if you reraised after turn or even after flop, he could have fold right (slight chance to get him off the hand) ? this was the best play to do or it is not a good strategy.
We're definitely not trying to get him off the hand with such a strong hand, we're trying to get max value. Only reason you have a bias to wanting him to fold is because of the results, the other 98x we play this hand, we would win.
@@BluffaloSam thx for explanation, this is just nice hand then, and one more thing i want to ask, you put all the hands you play right? and the other hands you fold you just not showing if I am not mistaken right ?
AT: I continue to bet on the turn. You have Td and a fh redraw, so I just bet while I can still get some money from worse hands (Ax, straight draws, some Qx, one diamond hands). The "new" bet sizing really only applies to online poker and it ranges from 2x to 3x. I have never heard of raising to 5x from the button. 5x creates a pot that is at least 10% of the starting stack (with 100BB) and an SPR of 9 or less, which is not great for suited connector hands. You also seriously restrict the hands that BB can profitably call (needing to call 4BB instead of 2). AA: I think 4! size vs 70 and call should be about 245 (175 + 70). Ap I think your flop bet size was great. AQ: Great read. Based on your read, I think you should default to an assumption that the villain has KK because players who bet larger with big hands (in my experience) just continue betting big when the hand gets stronger. There generally is no "stop and go" with these players. AJs: I think a much better play from the villain is a check raise on this board, and if yiu do check back, just bet large if the turn is bad for your range. Wp (but I also would bet larger on the turn). Great session. I love overbetting too.
The AT hand just makes such a nice checkback, and can pretty much call any River I was studying it a bit more, and some 5knl players online were doing 2x OOP, 3x CO, 4.5X OTB, I need to look into it a bit more though AA hand tough with the sizing tbh AJ I think Turn should be bigger too
On the last hand with AA, would you have been cool with getting all the money in preflop?

Yeah, I've been practicing it a bit online and it seems great. Completely counterintuitive from what I learnt ages ago
congrats on the successful session man! im enjoying watching your journey while starting my own 👍🏽
Good luck to you too!! High stakes here we come :)
