I'm curious of this too bc I know back in Vietnam the F4 phantoms had issues locking onto the old migs bc the heat signature wasn't strong enough. Maybe the newer missiles are better tho and don't need such a great heat signature to stay locked?
This is probably as accurate as it would be in real life. Those multi million dollar beauties can take you out of the sky from miles before you even know you’re going to be engaged. It’s one of the most feared jets for a reason
I'm going surmise that this aerial engagement is taking place over Germany? Due to the Raptor's greater range. and it's 'Supercruise' capability the Luftwaffe would be reduced to fighting to hopeless defensive war.
The F22 could destroy them before those planes are even in range to shoot at the F22 If the F22 flew over them fast enough it could destroy the smaller aircraft

Perhaps but to a lesser extent. Their engines would still technically generate heat, as would any friction on their wings from the air
