I think they would be making a big mistake continuing stranger things. At this point they will end on a high note. It is rare that the original show and the spin off are both good shows with success. In fact I only remember 4 shows where that happened. In all honestly I think they should end at season five and just stop with the stranger thing universe. This leaves room for more fan art, themed establishment, ect.
I think this season is more anticipated than season 4. We all know it’s the last season. So much will be explained and explored and our little brains can’t fathom how long we have to wait. But we are willing to wait because we know it’s going to be PHENOMENAL!!!!
There's really no way to kill the mind flayer, the only way to defeat him is to close the gate for good and to kill Vecna so no more gates open. And my theory is that at the end, El will sacrifice herself so there wouldn't be any risk of opening any more gates. That's one of the ways I think the show will end.

There was supposed to be 6 and 7 seasons but since Covid hit they got older and it’s hard to make them look younger again season 4 was a bit awkward with sizes. Do that’s why season 5 is the last season
