@@artisaha4471 optional its all about personal decision, aap bheed ke piche mat bhago, jo subject aapki graduation or optional m common hai or jisko aap easily pdh skti without any boredom , jisko aap enjoy kro while preparation usi ko choose karo.
The 10 things are:-
1. First start from the *Mains* syllabus, then optional.
2. Create a detailed *Plan* for your Mission LBSNAA!
3. Learn how to *Read* effectively and efficiently.
4. Learn how to *Write* well (essay writing and answer writing).
5. Learn how to make *Notes* for effective revisions.
6. Understand the *Concepts* first and then go into detail.
7. Make your own *Strategy* !
Take best clues from toppers and make your own unique path.
8. Limit your sources, but use *Google* for self study and forming a 360° understanding of concepts.
9. Understand UPSC *Demands* from syllabus and previous years papers, Don't study blindly!
10. *Focus on nothing else* !
Eat, Sleep, Walk, Talk,
*UPSC* .
8-12 hours a day of study.

We're from the Humanities background and finding the Analytical & logical reasoning, Data interpretation and Quantitative Aptitude etc in the General Studies prelims paper 2 extremely difficult Also very less time is at our disposal to master them all. I don't understand why people separately mention mains and prelims preparation. I mean when you are preparing for say mains, as Sir said, you are also preparing for prelims. It's not like Lakshmikant is helpful only from mains point of view.
Also when we start preparing for Prelims 3 months before exam, we are also preparing for mains simultaneously (excluding answer writing), because the content is more or less equal.
