Hey lucy! I dont know if you read comments often but if you do get a chance, is it possible to sing your version of everybodys somebodys fool? I swear to God your version is so much better than your other performance, this one really hits the noggin with tingles haha. Keep singing!
Nothing feels better than finding a gem like this. Comfort music and life lessons all wrapped into one. I play music but very far away from this intricate and beautiful stuff, and I’m so pleased to find this beautiful duality to appreciate. Thanks dudes❁
The long notes are something else. I love just hearing them... You are a master doing them, Lucy, and they seem (coming from you) so natural and easy!... Congrats!
First of all I fully respect Houston Person and his amazing career and his wealth of experience. He obviously has earned the right to hold court and teach but I don’t understand what was wrong with her phrasing. The musicianship getting in the way of telling the story is no doubt great advice but for me her reading of the lyric, from what I heard, was compelling and in fact drawing me in to the song. Vocal riffs, runs and scatting could take away from the story, I get that but her phrasing is on the money, for me. Would he have a problem with Whitney Houston’s riffs overshadowing the lyric or Ella’s scatting? And don’t sax players like himself fill space with a lot of notes? I’m probably ignorant here but I’ve been listening to music for decades and a lot of jazz vocalists and her tone, timing, feeling and phrasing is captivating.
This is called experience rubbing against work and talent. Some of you dont seem to understand that every room needs someone to give people shit. If you're singing about life, it better be hard and I'm more than willing to bet that Houston would sit in that chair for an eternity until he got it right to his ear, and I'm making the same bet for Lusine.
Nice!Sage advice for sure. She needs to learn about space. Put some space in between the notes. Tension needs release ! If she was a sax player I’d say “take the thing out of your mouth sometimes!”
I have a huge smile on my face ... you're a gift Lusine jan and Houstan is just wow ....
One in a billion type of voice
What a chance to play, share, and learn from a musician as Mr Houston Person ! Thank you sir. Lucy: pure class as alway!
Lucy Yeghiazaryan es la cantante entrañable. Su voz tiene la cualidad de aproximarte. No importa lo que cante, parece decirte aquí estoy. He llegado.
