Free spent coffee grounds for compost!

This is the first time I got coffee grounds from my local Starbucks. They were happy to give them to me since having them go into my compost is better than a landfill. Just be careful when adding coffee grounds. They can kill off, or at least shoo away a large percent of your worms. If you're "hot composting" then this isn't much of a concern, but if you have a lot of worms in your pile then be sure to add some carbon (dry leaves or shredded cardboard) into the pile after adding the coffee grounds. The worms will thank you for it.
