Perfectly concise! Thank you. I’m just starting out and have a small pile of leaves, cardboard, and kitchen scraps. There is so much information on composting that at times it feels overwhelming. I appreciate this knowledge nugget!
I have five 1.5M3 bins use fine wood chip, comfrey, grass , cardboard, general rat safe house waste ,coffee grounds and cardboard. I fill up a bin alternate layering and watering. The temp goes up to 60C. Each week I push 1 inch holes into the bins add water if needed . this tends to keep the temp up after 6 months turn into new bin I add new greens repeat this one more time 6 months later . Let sit for 6 months it’s then ready to use. Wood chip tends to remain aerobic if you push hole in to it regularly.
