Part of that conditioning is to teach them to hate anything and everything related to her or that happened during her time and the SA80 family is something that came online during her stint as PM (despite the state of it having almost nothing to do with her government). As such they're taught something along the lines of "it's a rifle that didn't work that was only made so that the government could sell the enfield plant to the public sector" and the conditioning they have received also teaches them to spread it and circle jerk (to continually reinforce each others conditioning).

No, its got the round cocking handle of the A1
Because A1s don't really jam unless they have foreign material inside the chamber
Like every other modern assault rifle. The A1 is fine as long as it isn't full of shit
@@norfangl3480 Good thing they didn't put giant holes in the reciever then.
Wow so that's what they look like. Every one I ever saw in theater was wrapped in a plastic bag.
lmao
With the vsk optic. I like
That’s powerful !
OK how does an American civilian come across a full auto British service rifle
You visit someone who is licensed to have them and they let you hold it. There is no legal way for a civilian to own a full auto L85.
DAMN surprised he didnt have a stoppage with the A1
Because while the A1 had it's problems it was nowhere near as bad as legend and the internet likes to claim. I never had a stoppage with live rounds in five years in using A1s, albeit solely in a UK based training environment.
Privately-owned SA80s must be rare as hens teeth… even without factoring in full auto capability. What’s the story behind this weapon?
You are correct and the background on the rifle is definitely muddy.
there were a few soldiers who borrowed them to take home but then forgot to return them.. its not clear how someone can steal a sa80 from the army but it's definitely happened.
every video featuring this weapon has a lot of angry british people in the comments bashing the poor rifle.
it's scary, sad and hillarious at the same time.
Well to be fair it is the worst issued weapon since the French Chachat. Actually I think I'll take the French Chachat in 8mm lebel over the L85.
It's kind of convoluted. Brits are conditioned to hate the iron lady. Part of that conditioning is to teach them to hate anything and everything related to her or that happened during her time and the SA80 family is something that came online during her stint as PM (despite the state of it having almost nothing to do with her government). As such they're taught something along the lines of "it's a rifle that didn't work that was only made so that the government could sell the enfield plant to the public sector" and the conditioning they have received also teaches them to spread it and circle jerk (to continually reinforce each others conditioning).
they bash it cause it's a terrible gun.
@@jimmehjiimmeehh9748 Margaret Thatcher (and Jim Callaghan before her) got us into the Falklands War, while also cutting the armed forces by a large margin, then later after her re-election, the papers were full of how stupid army boys had voted for her 'because she'd given us a war'.
Nope.
It's hard now to convince people how hated she really was, for this among many, many other reasons.
These reasons are why immediately that she was dead, the old song 'ding dong the witch is dead' went straight to the top of the downloads charts.
- it's because she was hated a great deal.
@@stevetheduck1425 She got us into the Falklands war, eh? How so? She mind control Galtieri?
(If you don't get it, I am pointing out that you're full of shit.)
Thank god that indoor range wasn't slightly dusty or it would've clogged and jammed.
Surprised this hasn't reached 10m views
It worked. Damn
Rather than a successful magazine dump from an L85, I'm actually more impressed some private outfit in the USA has an L85 of *_ANY_* kind, as from what I've heard, they weren't sold to any other country, as no-one wanted the bloody things!
A handful exist outside of the British army though I'm not sure how exactly as the British army doesn't tend to surplus it's weapons.
Though Bloke On The Range did feature a semi auto only A1 that was privately owned by an Italian, so they do exist
Didn't Bolivia buy some?
@@Motorman2112 yes they did, used by special forces I believe. Jamaica, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and a few other nations have them too but all through aid programs, Bolivia bought theirs.
@@padraig6200 Man, the irony! "Hey, we're being given some modern assault rifles to bring our army up to scratch!"
@@JackRoadkill it's not a bad rifle, the A2 is actually pretty good and im pretty sure it's the most accurate modern service rifle. It's just heavy as fuck, I've handled both the L85 and the L86 and they're monsters, I've a mate in 2Para who says he liked the L85 till he went to Louisiana to train with the 82nd ABN, now he wants an M4 haha
I'm surprised it didn't malfunction at least once
how the hell did you get hold of a l85a1 since they were never on sale to civlians ! even the l98a1 the straight pull version of the l85 a1 which is today legal to own in the uk was never on sale
and more to the point do you have a class 3 ticket ?
I heard a semi-only parts kit was released in USA. Also in Mozambique it was sold to them and then sold onto civilian's which pissed of the MOD! Also Zimbabwe had it as well, and Columbian Special Forces use it as well!
@@MrPolicekarim nope, all original, never de milled
If this is an A1 you better have bought a lottery ticket immediately afterwards. If it was an A2 then it's actually a pretty solid rifle from all accounts.
where can i find and use one?
Look Ma, no jams!
and that was without even a single jam
It isn't the best rifle in the world but it's a British/German rifle and it sure as hell does it's job
That scope looks like a monocle.
Great looking rifle
No forward assist 👀
Dude it didn’t run pretty good it ran flawlessly 😂😂😂 that’s a good sign at least
was that 30 rounds he shot?
22 rounds and there are still rounds in the mag he pulls out. The weapon jammed.
I cant believe it didn't break!
No jam!???
Oh must have been an paid actor
The worst standard issue rifle to be issued to British soldiers... We sure know what guns to pick.
It sure was a downgrade from the L1A1 SLR.
AWOSUM 👌👌👌💐
And when he tries the reload the bolt falls off
