I do quite a bit with black background. Often I trace the pattern on clear vinyl (also great for applique placement) then trace over a light box, onto the fabric with a white ink pen. The white ink wont wear off as chalk can during the handling of applique.
Oh Good Golly, Bless your heart...it's beautiful. I will do the QAYG with an easier block. This is a little to hard for me at this time since I just started quilting. But I loved it and it is magnificent.
Hi Peggy, how wide of a seam depends on the width of the bias bar - for the 1/4" bar, you have to trim the seam to about 1/8" so that it stays hidden behind the bar. If you do the wider bars you don't have to trim so much. Hope this helps - Nancy
Super awesome sharing as always ❤

Thank you so much!
another great video, & "nope I changed my mind" - amazing to realize this happens to most of us haha.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks. Wow.
Great series. I’ve never even heard of this method. I’m a new quilter. I didn’t understand how wide you make the seam for the stems?
