- Overwatch's new hero Illari is able to deploy a healing pylon to steadily heal her allies.
While it may sound straight foward at first, this ability comes with a whole set of weird interactions with other heroes.

favourite part of a new hero coming out is people not knowing out to pronounce it. I had a friend that called Moira, Moria. Every time he did we would shout "And they call it a mine!"
The pronunciation is actually correct. Her name is Quechua, so LL isn't pronounced the same way as in Spanish

I think the funniest interaction is when she can remove half of your health at widowmaker range with her sojourn rail gun and heal herself with pylon +passive
No she barely does damage that far away, no sojourn is way stronger. Stop standing the open not moving its gonna get you headshotted
@@group555_ number one, calm down before you type, number two she shoots an 83 damage projectile every 2.5 seconds, has no damage drop off on range, unlike Ashe, Cass, or any hitscan other than soldier, widow and soj, and charges her shots far faster than soj can charge a rail. while granted, the max damage for a sojourn rail is higher, but only by around 50 damage, and with a much more infrequent rate of recharge that requires you to land her main fire first.

@@flyingboye at 30 meters, y’know, like I said, sniper distance, she can still do her full 75 damage shots every half second from 30 meters away, having the same damage falloff as Ashe, with the difference being that illari’s damage only dips down to 22.5 damage per shot at 50 METERS. As a support with a rapid fire hitscan that is insane. Not to mention her ultimate which has a bigger splash than Pharah’s Concussion blast and junk’s riptire, while also being as fast as a concussion blast. Apologies if the above stats were over exaggerating, but honestly that’s not even too far from what it is, and I even underestimated her rate of charge after they buffed it again.
I found a crazy illari interaction where she ults and then everyone magically fucking dies
It looks like the interactions rules are identical to Torbjorn's turret. It's just smaller and sticks to stuff.
Doomfist when in ult near the pylon stacks up heals so when he meteor strikes down he gets a burst of 120 heal
Found this weird interaction where my teammates playing as a lllari put her healing pylon in the most obvious and dumb places on the floor, so it gets destroyed immediately.
I've missed a wall from to time to see it magestically souring into the enemy team
Genji can deflect the healing from the pylon to his teammates
This bug was mentioned by karq. If you place pylon on the ice wall it will fall but will stay in it's spot on ice block, basically you can use both to make a floating pylon
at least spell the hero’s name correctly

There’s a spot I believe it’s Numbani, where around the 2nd capture point, or another map that has ivy growing on a bridge crossing/overhang where the pylon can’t be placed, it’ll get thrown, fall and get destroyed

@@ukloriantorb turret works the same way. I think it should do damage to both of them, but it’s not a lari specific interaction
Symmetra would be an interesting counter for Illari considering you could toss out a turret to stifle her healing output
I just absolutely love finding weird ass places to put the pylon where the enemy team just get confused. Some of my favourites include inside the bell of one of the flashpoints in survasa and on the big orange thing in the middle of lijiang towers control centre.
There’s a weird interaction in the hero gallery where the devs keep giving Kiriko all the skins and forget to give Illari even a simple voice line.

Illari’s turret is e x a c t l y Like torbs turret, it just swaps the damage to enemies for healing for ally’s and ofc can stick to walls but other then that… all interactions are the same
Illiari's pylon is like torb turrent, it'll get stuned by rein charge but break when Bob hits it
The pylon cab also block dead eye if you stand behind it
Here's a funny one: Load up Hollywood. Go to point B, the movie set the pay load moves through. Throw you pylon straight up to the sky. It will get stuck on the sky box.

I think deadeye should target all turrets. Like give cass something worthwhile when using his ult, it’s just a glorified reload in high rank.
it can go on invisible walls like in the practice range or even some maps just throw it out and it will stick midair

If you place it on the spawn door before the game starts, when the door slides downwards to open it will bring it under the map without it breaking. I've only tried this on oasis though

My favourite illari tech is the one where she comes out of spawn and wipes the enemy team using two buttons
I believe you can also deflect the pylon's healing but it's not worth it.
I found out that you can place the pylon under you and hold jump to fly.
It might be glitch or something idk

if she puts her healing pylon on meis ice block then mei cancels the ice block the pylon will stay flying in the air , pretty funny glitch

I think it's a bug, but whenever my tank is low and I need to heal him, he'll do everything he can to avoid both my beam and pylon.

There seems to be this bug where she can just stand still and focus on doing dps and still out heal zenyatta and her ultimate also one taps me like a damn riptirer.

Wait false alarm, it was just blizzard fucking up the game again by categorizing a dps hero into a support role because they have a few healing abilities.

Can you test baby DVA or Tracer standing behind it for DVA bomb?
The only part of your hitbox you need to cover to be saved from a dva bomb is the centre. You can stand behind a tiny breakable fence or one of those road signs on numbani/route 66 etc and can be saved because it blocks LOS to centre.
So a thinner hitbox is not needed to test it, even with centre covered, the pylon does not block dva bomb.
Why would it block LOS?
It can also block genji dash🤦🏽♂️

Does the plyon have to be covered by the absorbing ability, or can the los to the target be blocked mid-way?
it can be blocked midway by the usual stuff (dva's DM, sigma's eat, etc. But I forgot about shields, i believe those blocks too.)
