Just like the old flash site, these are expertly produced! It's awesome finally getting to connect a face to the animation. I LOVE IT! Been a fan since 2000's
The Animated Licks videos has turned out to be such a great series, especially for someone with limited time to watch videos like myself. Hybrid picking is definitely a weak point in my playing. Must... wax... harder... Cheers!
thank you for more hybrid picking lessons - this one seems to be more difficult (need to battle the urge to use a pick all the time) 😅one comment made me feel quite discourage: 'why use hybrid picking at all? if you need a chord - just strum it, if it is about individual notes - just pick, hybrid won't make you faster' but it is not about 'getting faster', i always thought about 'creating different sounds' or 'utilize open strings more', or even 'give yourself time to more to a next shape') it gives us more flexibility, no?)
The tone, the control, the effortless performance, all the fun!!! …. Some stuff sinply gets impossible without the help from fingers. (loke huge string skip stuff) Having skills to use some hybrid picking certainly shouldn’t stop you from picking when needed! I don’t know who gave such a comment, but I know he never mastered the technique and fears it. Keep waxing. even if you get the first 4 notes rolling a bit, you’re winning!
@@MikaFastfinger thanks, your words are always inspirational) surely i will keep going. he express it as 'hoarding techniques' and uses only 'applicable', i must admit i love learning for the sake of learning, and it can be detrimental sometimes, but i suppose i side with Michael Angelo Batio 'better have it and not need it than need it and don't have it'
I don't know who said these things but it sounds like it's coming from a teenager. When me and my guitar playing friend were 15 years old, we used to say / think: if you're not alternate picking it, your not a real man at all 😄@@AstaMuratti
😆@@MikaFastfinger sometimes we can stay quite 'teenage-minded' even in later years) to each its own i guess, i will continue to try and reach every piece of colorful mosaic that is guitar playing (reaching some of them is a real challenge)
Thanks! Sorry I forgot to meantion the key/scale complitely. It could work F#phygian but I was thinking E minor (aka Aeolian). The backing track in the intro and outro is in E minor too.
WAX On 🤘🤘
Wax on!!!
That's a really sweet sounding lick!
🖐🙂 and It becomes so effortless once you get it down.
Your hybrid picking is so fluid. I really need to whip my right hand into shape!
Thank you Sir! The more you use it, the better it flows!
@@MikaFastfinger 🤘🏽 ill try to be more like water.

Snappy tone full of control 🎸🤩
Listening to the video afterwards. I really love the snappy attack too! 🖐😀
Ohh damn its just such a great filler lick, smooth and crisp 😁
As always, thanks for sharing Sensei!
a filler??? It’s the highlight!!! 💪💪💪. 🖐😀
Is it a f# phrygian lick? Love new approaches to modal licks. Thanks for sharing ❤
