If they actually tried to enforce that they'd have no time for the more important things like international serial killers. Copyright laws can pretty much be safely ignored these days. Sure they might arrest you for downloading a movie (or 100,000 of them like I have), but the odds are better that you will win a lotto jackpot given the number of arrests vs number of movie pirates on RARBG alone, never mind the dark web. They probably prioritize the ones making millions from it like Kim Dotcom or that guy that was streaming NFL games for free (no ridiculous PPV fees = woohoo) while collecting the ad dollars.

My great uncle (or potentially my real biological grandfather, don’t ask because we couldn’t begin to tell you) retired from Interpol. While most people have never heard of it, some of my earliest memories were hearing his Interpol stories. He was a treasure and I miss him every day.
