  • Anyone that knows of Icon knows the legend is real. The design concepts brought together with mechanical engineering including aerospace technology creates one of the best driving vehicles around while looking like a simple restoration of a stock classic vehicle. They've done this with classic Bronco's, FJ's & now Chevy 3100 pick up trucks known as the Icon Thriftmaster so sit back and enjoy the ride...

It’s just amazing listening to how Jonathan’s mind works and seeing what he and his team are producing. I guess this is what happens when you combine art, technology, and obsessive attention to detail. The Broncos and FJs are fantastic, but that Thriftmaster just knocks me out. Thanks so much for doing this episode Shawn, it’s by far my favorite yet and I can’t wait to see more of ICON’s work. I’d particularly love to see more of the Relic Series.

Jonathan and his crew are amazing. The things they do and the way they do it are off the charts. They define "attention to detail". I'm not a Bronco or FJ fan but I totally get it because they are great as they were originally and Jonathan takes it to levels of another world. The Derelicts are like nothing anyone else is doing. I'm a huge fan of what he does to the 3100's. My favs. NOTHING compares to the TR Series ICON's. I have a 54 3100. Jonathan, you make me sick! I thought I had ideas for my GG-fathers truck I inherited. I subscribe/watch your channel and you show me how it should be done...but I can't and never will be able to. Keep up the quality work and keep sharing and showing me and everyone else how it should be done.

Awesome!!! You finally did an episode with ICON. I have followed Jonathan for years. I think I even suggested in a comment once on this channel that you do an episode with Jonathan. And I learned even more about Jonathan and ICON than I already knew. Thanks bro for a great episode. I've said that I would buy a Thriftmaster from ICON if I ever won the lottery. Still my plan. lol But yall picked a beauty for this episode. The interior is gorgeous and that blue fits perfectly for the truck (even though it's a Ford color). Now you need to go back a few more times and do a Bronco an FJ and maybe a Derelict. You did it with Superformance. Now you should do the same with ICON. Thanks again bro. Great episode.

Jonathan Ward could be a monthly guest and the channel would still only scratch the surface of the thoughts he puts into his vehicles. What makes him great along with guys like Steve Strope and a few others is they don't just say "I put this part on". They tell you what the design or function of why they chose to do something. 👍

You got it exactly right. Very few builders put this level of thought into their creations and Strope is one of those few

This is by far the best interview I have seen of ICON's "Mr. Wizard" Jonathan Ward. I'm wondering if Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley still come to him for advice when they get themselves in a pickle.
