Princess Margaret treated people badly. There was some rule that people couldn't leave a table or go to bed until the royal family member left. She would keep people waiting until 4 am before she'd leave and they would stay up as late as she did because of that ridiculous rule. They could have broke the rule, but they didn't because of some misguided loyalty to a hierarchy. Captain Townsend first saw Princess Margaret when she was 14 or 15 similar to Prince Philip meeting Queen Elizabeth when she was about 13. Captain Townsend went on to marry a girl about 30 years younger than himself that he meet when she was 17 or 18. The girl was 1 or 2 years younger than Margaret. When Townsend meet Margaret, he was already married and had children. Princess Margaret was selfish and arrogant. She enjoyed holding her royal status over people and making them bow to her. She once made a French ambassador clean stains off her dress when he accidently spilt sauce on her dress at a dinner party.
Beautifully done; thanks so much for posting this. I have read that the one serious and ongoing bone of contention between Princess Margaret and her mother was over her education. Certainly the schooling provided by a governess (augmented by special lessons) was nowhere near adequate or fulfilling for anyone with the Princess's lively mind and intelligence. You can't help but wonder how her life might have turned out had she been allowed to go school and get a proper education.

Always been an admirer of the Queen, to the extent that we know her or the Institution she was head of. On the other hand, I have never really cared for Margaret. I believe her to have been very narcissistic and needy of attention, adoration and status. I believe her to be less enigmatic, but more calculating, knowing her best shot was to stay near the Queen inspite of her own intense envy. I do sincerely hope that Margaret came to have a real faith in GOD and is in peace and contentment.
I do think Margaret got to have more fun with her life than her sister the Queen or Queen Mother. I can't imagine how hard it would have been for me to remain stoic in public when I lost my parents or 4 of my siblings. Being Queen is not a job most of us could handle. My baby sister was spoiled rotten & a pita but I loved her dearly.
Harry is 6th in line.... he has to outlive charles, William, and Williams 3 children... it's highly unlikely Harry will ever sit on the throne. I'm sure his family at this rate will force him to give up his titles as he is constantly blasting them.
Prince Harry was able to marry the love of his life! and is now living his best life with his beloved wife and children. Away form those toxic, dysfunctional so-called royals. God blessed him and his real family always in California U S A.
Sad and selfish , ?. You are correct ,neither were/are ,made of the stuff where they couldve carved a really decent niche for themselves ,like Princess Anne for instance .She hated the press ,was rude and out-spoken and "up herself" She didnt whine though ,she got on with it ,and she done it with-thought all the sugary sweet shit and did it her own way .
Margaret was always loyal to her sister and the crown. Even Elizabeth admitted that Margaret sacrificed too much.... On the contrary Harry not only abandoned his family , he speaks very badly about them and he humilates them. This is a great difference.
Except being loyal to the monarchy… Harry just wants it his way - or else he’ll put the knife in your back…. Margaret may not have been gods best child herself, but she never lost her loyalty to the monarchy
Church of England. Established by Henry who wanted to divorce. He went on to do just that and executed a couple of wives. It’s truly unthinkable. In the 1950s, Margaret couldn’t marry a divorced man. 2023. William declares he doesn’t want to be head of the Church. This family is both fascinating and repulsive.
I watched a documentary about her. It didn't paint her in a good light. She constantly expected everyone to pay her way. She was to fly on first class even though she had a regular ticket. One family provided many lobster for her dinner party but never paid for it. I guess when you're a princess, you expect this but it's wrong to expect it from people who can't afford it.
It's ironic that three of the Queens' four children divorced, and two remarried and one to a divorcee who is currently Queen Consort of the UK and called Queen. Margaret deserved better from her family and the government she deserved happiness.

Very true.
Wow! Margaret and Harry have such similarities
No, Margaret didn’t publicly stab her family in the back.
who plays the song at the end of the video? is just beautiful
Princess Diana’s family mingled withthem
The sick part is that Townsands wife cheated on him. He didn't want the divorce
Furthermore the old grey men were all divorced
Church of England. Established by Henry who wanted to divorce. He went on to do just that and executed a couple of wives. It’s truly unthinkable. In the 1950s, Margaret couldn’t marry a divorced man. 2023. William declares he doesn’t want to be head of the Church. This family is both fascinating and repulsive.
Margaret paid a heavy price -Prince Philip def helped her majesty a lot - obs rivalry -but Margaret’ paid a heavy price -
Princess Margaret was spoilt. We all know that. Spoilt but unhappy... !!!!!😢
Spoiled? Is she drank people’s blood?
I watched a documentary about her. It didn't paint her in a good light. She constantly expected everyone to pay her way. She was to fly on first class even though she had a regular ticket. One family provided many lobster for her dinner party but never paid for it. I guess when you're a princess, you expect this but it's wrong to expect it from people who can't afford it.
@@muneca21is that the definition of spoiled? To drink people's blood? I think she was her momma's daughter.
@@muneca21 No ,but she could certainly empty their liquor cabinet .

Wow, the actor who played Armstrong Jones in season 2 of The Crown looks like him.
我是十分欣賞瑪格麗特王妃!
I believe Margret rose was a little biter and it was Elizabeth that had the good left hook.
It's a good thing Margaret wasn't born first, she just wouldn't have been fit.

So this marriage was better for her then the man she truely loved?!

Bolo jej dovolene ale mala sa rozhodnut medzi pivilegiami a laskou.A ona sa rozhodla.
Zvolila bohatstvo a postavenie.
She choose to cling on to her lifestyle.she seems like a spoilt woman that looked down on people.

Margaret was an unpleasant woman. Her children seemed brittle and miserable.
All the pomp and pageantry for the wedding she was becoming on the shelf so fell into the trap of marrying someone exciting aka bohemian.
Is that princess Ann on 30:48?
Yes it is her

So does the fact that the Queen didn’t show emotion or a tear when Princess Diana?
She obviously didn’t like having to give in to the public wanting her to honour Diana.
Maybe she would have been happier if she had to get a job pay a mortgage and car payment struggled to pay her bills the most normal people.
