Loving the nitty-gritty service videos, it's one thing to sail and it's another to know all the details and the maintenance involved. Super interesting to see it all and watch how the process goes. Can't wait for more!
Thanks for showing us the hard work and chaos with a purpose that is boat/RV/house maintenance and upgrades. Somehow it's a comfort that even the Mighty Wynns have stuff in boxes, on counters and anywhere possible when endeavoring these necessary tasks. 😉And here I thought it was just me. As usual, I am encouraged to press on and take one day at a time. Y'all are amazing! Cheers and best of luck with all the repairs. P.s. - Kent could totally do a spin off You Tube channel. He is clearly a favorite guest star!
i know it must seem strange for you, but its facinating to see all this........its great to see Kent again too ..... Thank you so much for allowing us in..........hey be safe out there.
Seriously, who are the 8 people who "thumbs down'ed" this video? I vote we make them work on your "head" and scrape Curiosity's bottom ("scraping Curiosity's bottom" - feels somehow inappropriate just typing that phrase!). . Whenever I see that you guys have posted a new video, I really do drop whatever I'm doing to watch it. After a few years of being on the road (and now the blue seas) with you guys . . . I kinda feel like I'm part of the family (or maybe a third cat). Safe sailing!
Nikki, I think you nailed it with the bottom color! When I first saw the gray finger paint I thought 'yuck'. When she was painted, it looked fabulous.!
To us its just amazing how much has been done in 31 days. Thats alot of work and alot of manpower behind all the repairs and upgrades. You have done an amazing job keeping your cool and cant wait to see all of the finished work. You are going to give us a tour and update on all the new gadgets arent you?
@@versatec1 As they should. Gettin paid doesn't disqualify him from being the man. Actually, ofcourse he's getting paid! He's the man, pay da man!!!!! Lol
awesome update guys. I really like the 'custom' bottom paint colour. Exciting to be finishing up the preparations to get onto your big sail. Cheers from PEI Canada, Bryan
Jason, Just a wayward comment or two:- @ 13:55 you are installing a diaphragm pump. While they can be mounted anywhere, when mounting vertical, ALL the manufacturers recommend mounting with the pump head down to avoid water ingress to the motor if there is ever a leak. And having over 30 years experience with that type of pump, they WILL leak and you probably won't notice until the motor stops. Also have a couple of service kits on board for every model. Make sure the kit includes a Diaphragm, Valve block, wobble plate AND a shaft seal. A spare pressure switch is also good to have in the spare parts box. Good effort showing all the little jobs that need attending to while doing a minor refit of systems. Looking forward to further adventures...maybe a Panama transit and off to the big water heading west??? Cheers Brad
Wonderful Video, Thank you. You two are hard workers and it all helps when you do some of the work. Blessings to you and safe voyage when you again dunk "Curiosity" in the water.
Kudos on doing a lot of this work yourselves. There is no better way to learn about how your sailboat is put together than doing much of the work yourself. When you get further out afield you are going to have a tougher time finding qualified marine services and you will need to know as much as you possibly can to not just keep from getting ripped off, but to keep from getting dangerous "repairs" done which could literally put your lives in jeopardy. Good work guys. Bravo Zulu!
This why I love bare boating the larger boats which are in salt water....... Still, I do some of these "things" on my own boat in the Great Lakes. Good job. Thanks for sharing.
So cool have been waiting to see what you guys were doing,,,, So glad to see the feathering props!! And as always truly love your channel and can't wait to see what your adventures lead you!! Thanks again for sharing!!
This was totally fascinating. I really enjoyed it. Congratulations on getting so much work done on the boat. Underwater lights? I can't wait to see that! Kent is truly the coolest. What a great and resourceful friend he has become for you two. Looking forward to the next chapter. Land Ho!
Wow, great video! Thank you for sharing!! You guys are smart doing as work yourselves; you're gaining experience, getting to know your boat better & reducing the cost of the repairs/upgrades. And benefits of being able to sail anywhere you want, plus sunsets/sunrises - priceless! Yeah it's a little pricy, but over a 10-15 year period compared to owning a house & a car over the same period. I'll bet the boat isn't that much more...
This was an exceptionally interesting and informative video.....I'll be watching it several more times. You two are so good at filming and explaining what is happening, then editing it all into a cohesive story.....thank you!
great to have you all back! since you two seems to have a great relationship with kent, you all should come up with some sort of business deal, if you haven't already. (you're doing coverage of the marina/services, my as well enter some sort of agreement) save saling!
Wait, it's all going too fast! Thanks for sharing guys, appreciate all the improvements your making. It's only money. She'll sail a lot better with her hull cleaned and painted. Have a buddy who does that for a living. Those feathering props are cool.
So Exciting to see you going through the process. I'm sure it's pretty stressful during, especially with the heat and bugs. And Wow! I can't believe you are a year in. I guess we're 9 months into our own journey, so time flies. Thanks for sharing, as always. -Henry
:55 that talking head on the ceiling made me lmao CLEO!!!!! Hello you cute shy kitty. You guys have to plan for the unplanned FL rain. Buffer a few days JIC so the delay doesn't mess with your budget.
Holly Crap! You guys have been busy! The alcohol will take care of that! That was almost a complete do over of the boat! I'm sure your glad that's over! Wish I were going with you! Never been in the pacific! 'NAVY' Atlantic side and med 3 trips! Loved it!
We are heading down there at the end of this month to catch some lobstahs. I'm sure you'll be half way to Panama by then. Good luck. We are all sailing with you (in spirit).
It seems like a lot, and I am sure it is but it is all worth it!! So excited to see how the next few weeks go for you guys. Thank you for sharing your travels with those of us who don't fully want to hit the road (waves) like you do but like to day dream of it every once in a while.
I have a three blade feathering prop just like the ones you installed. It makes one heck of a difference in speed and it also works well in reverse. You will love them! I would like to know how the yellowish coating works out keeping the barnacles off.
Hey guys, great work. Just have one small point. Fresh water pumps should be mounted with the pump head down and the motor up in case the pump head leaks it doesn't run down into the motor and cause problems. Glad to see all the work being completed.
I’m loving the maintenance videos, well all videos, but the technical stuff rocks. It’s like shopping with someone else’s money. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you, I’m still trying to figure out how to afford your life style.
There's a whole section of the blog devoted to how the Wynns and other nomads make money while traveling. Maybe it'll give you some inspiration! www.gonewiththewynns.com/make-money-travel Curious Minion
I love everything you both do. Beautiful videos, beautiful boat! I just don't think I will ever want a boat. It's too much work for me! Please keep the adventures coming! I may not want a boat but love watching you two!
I agree... We are learning a lot of new sailing terms. Excited for you guys to be on the blue again but I am sure you are even more excited to shove off than we are.
Gotta love those "care" packages. Keeps life more interesting. Although the prices for the rigging seem like they would choke a horse when the payment comes due, at least the maintenance is good for another 10 - 15 years. When you look at it cost out for 10 - 15 years, the annual cost is easier to take. Especially if you aren't planning on owning this boat for more than 10 years.
I did a small gig at a rope manufacturer, the reason for the cost is apparently sourcing the natural and petro-chem materials needed to make the rope. Apparently natural tree sap is used somehow and that is expensive.
I have been 3 weeks pretty much across the canal from you at Playboy Marine on the hard. Splashing back in today at 3pm finally and then up to Lake Sylvia to test out the new stuff.
Forget the mast and rigging...NICE docking job Niki:) As for insurance coverage paying a claim, it's always a negotiation based on what "is is"....lol. You guys have really learned and done a lot in a year:) Keep it up! Still waiting for you to dock up at Montauk Long Island New York:)

It was so great meeting you guys and all the other nice people, and the new crew, at the Fort Lauderdale meetup! We love following your adventures!!
Thanks for sharing!! That's lots of hard work. I don't think most people realize the amount of work it takes to keep up on a vessel like yours.

Wow, that is a TON of work.
Also loved the shot of Kent flying the drone!
Tyler Tillman He's a natural on that drone: perfect shots.
Oh how I love living vicariously through you two. Hard workers you both are. Be safe.
i know it must seem strange for you, but its facinating to see all this........its great to see Kent again too ..... Thank you so much for allowing us in..........hey be safe out there.

+John Williamson thanks for the love. Yes, there is something about dirty bottoms that just can't be discussed with a straight face. 😹
I think I know what it takes to run a yacht. Always something to do. Keep it up, I love watching you
Nikki, I think you nailed it with the bottom color! When I first saw the gray finger paint I thought 'yuck'. When she was painted, it looked fabulous.!

Kents the man!
Yes he is!
and sexy too!😉
White and pink in the engine room -- a BOLD maneuver!
He's not the man ...they are paying him , you can bet your ass on that one ☝️
@@versatec1 As they should. Gettin paid doesn't disqualify him from being the man. Actually, ofcourse he's getting paid! He's the man, pay da man!!!!! Lol
I love Jason's reaction to tying the bitter end with the bowline at 16:01. Those kind of wins are few and far between.
awesome update guys. I really like the 'custom' bottom paint colour. Exciting to be finishing up the preparations to get onto your big sail. Cheers from PEI Canada, Bryan
Underwater lights sound totally cool. Can't wait to see them in action.
Good to see, I've got all that fun ahead of me over the next few months too in a 10.5 metre cat. Enjoy your show alot.
UNDERWATER LIGHTS! I'm jealous!
your sailboat is going too look just lovely when its all done guys .

Yep, Kent is great. Love watching boat repair vids. What a daunting bunch of tasks though.
Wow lots of work. I concur Kent is great and good for you on the DYI. Waiting for the new adventure.
Love Just Catamaran they do all of our work!

I can't wait to see how those underwater lights look in the dark. Your boat will be like brand new when all this work is done.
Wow! That's pretty intense! Love the color, Nikki. Excited to learn more about the updates!
This why I love bare boating the larger boats which are in salt water....... Still, I do some of these "things" on my own boat in the Great Lakes. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

I like how you put Kent to work with the drone. 👍
I can't wait to see the new underwater hull lights in action in a nice dark anchorage.
Jason is always learning...love the enthusiasm!
:55 that talking head on the ceiling made me lmao
CLEO!!!!! Hello you cute shy kitty.
You guys have to plan for the unplanned FL rain. Buffer a few days JIC so the delay doesn't mess with your budget.
looking forward to meet the crew. been waiting weekly for that video to drop.

All so great update. Be well, and thank you .
Kents a gem! Yeah Kent!
Awesome video guys! Curiosity is shaping up just fine!
This is cool you guys are living the dream. I hope to do something similar in the not so distant future.
It seems like a lot, and I am sure it is but it is all worth it!! So excited to see how the next few weeks go for you guys. Thank you for sharing your travels with those of us who don't fully want to hit the road (waves) like you do but like to day dream of it every once in a while.
Jason you're a sailor not a trucker.....ditch that high rise truckers hat that says curiosity.....a softer rise embroidered would look much better
Nice. Greetings from Iceland
Just found your channel. Love your style.
i use to think about buying a boat every few years or so, until i started watching this sorta stuff. love the vids
If you can't set a good example, at least you can serve as a horrible warning. hahaha
I bet all the new lines feel really nice.
You 2 are so enjoyable to watch.
Great video. Love your smiles through all the work. Really impressive
Man!! I'm exhausted just from watching!! LOL!!
a lot of work in a short time! Great job of documenting all of that!
Love watching you work on stuff. Glad it's not me! Love your work ethic and desire to do things right. Stay safe.
Wow. That's a lot of work.
Great video! Loved the details in both video and typed commentary. Pretty impressive scope of work. Thanks for sharing.
So fun seeing all the progress on your boat!
Wow that was a lot done in a month! Great vid guys as usual.
I have a three blade feathering prop just like the ones you installed. It makes one heck of a difference in speed and it also works well in reverse. You will love them! I would like to know how the yellowish coating works out keeping the barnacles off.
Just another great video...excellent shoot, edit, and delivery

You both do such a great job of informative sharing....great and fun teachers.
Nice to see the two of you back on land!
So cool hearing a fellow South African on your vlog! You can't miss the South African accent!

That was great! Could almost smell the new rope. Best wishes and thanks for great vid! - J&D
Quite a big project enjoy
I could watch hours of this technical maintenance, far too short this episode. Guess im just a tech geek.
I Concur!!! Ü
Im geekin out as well. I can't wait to geek out on when they buy new nav equipment etc...
yup, me too, but didn't you want her to pull the WHOLE line out of the mast before she coiled it up?!
Yep really interesting stuff. I can't wait to see how the underwater lights look with it back in the water.
I agree... We are learning a lot of new sailing terms. Excited for you guys to be on the blue again but I am sure you are even more excited to shove off than we are.
Those underwater lights are going to look SOOO GOOD in drone footage!
As long as the "disco lights" don't leak.
Dude, just got an aeropress! It's amazing! Also love these kinds of videos. Keep the behind the scenes vids coming!
Love these episodes of work on the boat.

Twin Flames. So Beautiful.
Fantastic work both, really enjoying your videos! Thanks for sharing!
You two are enjoying this... I can see it.
George Kozi , it's because they are being tight lipped about their future travels!!! can't wait to see where they choose to go!
I did a small gig at a rope manufacturer, the reason for the cost is apparently sourcing the natural and petro-chem materials needed to make the rope. Apparently natural tree sap is used somehow and that is expensive.
I live in Orlando, welcome to Hurricane Season, it rains every afternoon!!! 🌧🌧🌧🌧
I have been 3 weeks pretty much across the canal from you at Playboy Marine on the hard. Splashing back in today at 3pm finally and then up to Lake Sylvia to test out the new stuff.
I wanna see the underwater light when you're for anchor in an exotic beach :D . It must look cool :D .
Very good as always, thank you for the wonderful videos.
Great stuff, safety is paramount!!!!
Kent!!! it's so great to see Kent again. :-)
I haven't said it, via comments, but, *EVERY* video, I say out to the computer "those two are amazing!!!".
Great informative video to educate those who want to get a boat. 😃
