I put a lot of love and care into my Levels. Including my troll levels, which i create for the purpose of sharing with friends. when i create a normal level, i make it with endless players in mind as i play that mode frequently.
I would suggest considering not talking in absolutes. For example, you say, "always have a pink coin by the key door", or "never use Boo Rings in a block", or "never use the laugh sound effect". The laughing sound effect has it's uses, and boo rings in a block are really not that bad, especially for certain ghost levels where it fits the theme.
Great video. I like the poison-blowing Yoshi, I really didn't know that! BTW, I had to tell my 9-year old not to put in an instant death door. She was disappointed, but I had to say it.

Another way to use thwomps is as a different one way wall, its not that much different from the one way wall but it could be better for castle levels to fit the theme. First, get a thwomp and keep it out of view, use a semisolid or coins to indicate the thwomp. Then get one way walls and place them facing downward at the end of the gap where the thwomp is, this will prevent the thwomp from returning back to its normal position. If done correctly and if i've thought correctly it should stay in place when it falls, depending on the size of it, it will block the way of the player from returning. Pretty sure this will be deemed useless, but it could be a fun way to say make an entrance to a boss arena. If you spotted a mistake that i've made please let me know in the replies.
There are a lot of details here that I totally ignored, even though I've already made and played quite a few levels. Nice job. I will rewatch this from time to time to remind myself of some stuff.

A note on playtesting: for the love of god if you make any form of hard level you know just how many test runs you put into them. Please, playtest any speed run of relatively hard levels at least 20 times during editing.
The only difference I know between fire balls and poison balls is that poison balls can defeat flaming cheep cheeps, but still not poison ones. That would mean having to combine a castle theme and a night jungle theme as a subworld , and having cheep cheeps in both. Very minute.

If the condition set is getting a lot of coins, put coins in pipes to make the level harder (castle theme with platforms that are flat will make a hard level) Edit: surprise thwomps, if used, make sure you use semisolid platforms to warn them.
I have a tip myself. If you want to make quick shortcuts to other areas for quick building in maker mode, use doors. Just make sure to delete them afterwards.
I remember making an easy level where at the end it had 3 clear pipes, 1 to death, another to the goal, and the last back to the beginning (remember the level was short and easy). I added this just as a joke and there was a checkpoint so if you died you could just choose again with no big consequences and when you go back to the beginning there is a way to die within 10 seconds.

You honestly deserve more than 6.77k subs when you make vids like this, this actually helped me make a level along with item limit manipulation. It is a pick a path boss level. You either fight one hard bowser jr. Or you fight 2 boom booms which are a bit easier.
For the pink mechakoopa, you can ads some in walls so you have to jump on the red bullets to get to a higher platform.. I did this in one of my troll levels

I have a good idea for track so the platform doesn’t leave make it have a little path to keep going back and forth so when you activate a on and off switch it switches paths to the actual track course
Here’s a tip: I based a level off one of the castles in NSMBW. I put a giant spike ball in a bullet bill launcher and placed the bullet bill launcher on a moving platform via a track. Then put springs at the side of the platform so the giant spike ball bounces from side to side without breaking. Luckily, the spike ball only spawns one giant spike ball. I think this is a good method for a challenge. Mario has to jump from side to side dodging the spike ball. Hopefully this isn’t confusing!
Here I am watching this despite the fact that it's probably going to take the rest of Christmas break before I get another chance to touch the Switch without my brother immediately sensing it and running over to it at mach 1 so he can take it and continue distracting himself from whatever game he was playing with me on the computer using the limited switch version of RUclips before I can even close it and start the game.

The cannons on top of enemies work best with spikes, because they won't throw spike balls, and they automatically face the player.

i hate refreshing levels especially if they somehow appear in multiplayer, not only are they not even refreshing it kills my eyes more than anything but in multiplayer the only way to determine the winner is whoever has better wifi
