We are the worst critics of our work , I know because I do it all the time! Nobody sees what we do in a project because they can't know what our vision originally was, they only see a fine finished product and love it! Be proud of yourself and I think you did a remarkable job on the decrease of the sleeves, thanks for sharing 😊❤

Beautiful! Crochet is fun because it isn't perfect, and we don't have to make things perfect, just to our own liking... that's what it's all about. Love all the colors.

Okay, I love it and find nothing wrong with it. Find a similar fiber and weight and put a cream color where you want extra width (front closure area). Match the stitch with what you used for the wrists, or make it granny. Then use leftover scraps to edge it allllll the way around to bring back cohesive color. Make button holes on one side to give purpose to the cream edging. If you wanna hide the single crochet row, you can crochet along the stitch itself to add a "flare" that goes around the width of the cardigan. This might add more design, but you can also use the same stitch at the very bottom edge around your hip and then around the wrists. It would becflirty, fun, and unique. You can also frog the edgings you don't like and use slip stitching. There's always room to change up a completed project. Have fun with it and don't overthink it.

Find a matching color, add in the back seam so that it looks natural. Just start to add just above the waist down to the hips.

Love your Cardigan! I like that colorway too. Thank you for sharing how you made it because I want to make one also. I felt the same way as you, liking parts of one pattern but not wanting to make mine like sleeve and cuff. I haven't been brave enough to try. You're helping us so much explaining the steps and showing those details. I'm a fan of lots of colors too so I totally understand.

Amy, first of all, great hexi cardi! Pretty colors and good job. I think you arrived to the right conclusion for the future, to stick wth one pattern and make slight modifications on it. Or, another way of going about it is doing one or even two patterns as they are, 100%. After doing that, you can make decisions about what yu like or dislike about each one and then sit down and plan ahead of time how you would like it to be constructed for yourself and go from there.
Another tip, if you are looking for an ombre look but are frustrated with the way cakes work up, "make" your own, by using thinner yarns in the colors of your choice and blending them up to create the result you're after. I hope it's helpful.

    • @amyluvscrochet6140

Your's turned out so cute! I started a hexi-cardigan with light cotton cakes. It got to where I should have finished it but wanted to use the rest of the yarn in the cake...so I did, and without trying it on finished it complete with lace edging. It's HUGE. Now I have to either unravel the whole thing or figure out how to sew it up so it fits 😞

Awww, that is a lot of work Kimberly, sorry to hear it. I've worked a cake through to the next color and ended up with a giant infinity scarf, like massive. Some learning experiences are more painful than others, but don't lose sight that you learned from it. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Thanks.
