I've been sitting on this one for A LONG TIME mainly because of all of it. Big props to the table that they were able to do it all in a way that makes sense.
Haha, and I thought this one would never see the light of day! I'm the Elesh Norn player, glad to have finally won one on the channel :D Fun fact: I bet Vince that if he hadn't done something before Elesh Norn can come into play, I would eat a card. I ate a card
Elesh Norn is BAE. That silly turn with the copied spells is one of the most EDH things I have ever seen. Also, congratulations on getting to spoil the Silverquill deck on Thursday!
Also congrats on getting the entire Silverquil deck to preview later this week. It's the one im most excited for and im happy you were given this honor
Excited to see Atris! I just recently finished my ridiculous deck making use of every "Fact or Fiction" type card I can get my hands on and a bunch of those "When this creature dies, return it to the battlefield" cards! ☺
When I saw Elish Norn as the commander and a Torpral Orb (I think is how it’s spelt) my mind immediately thought the deck is mono white stax. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing (not at all, that’s how I’m updating my Heliod) I’ve just been playing for about a year now and for me to kinda get an idea of a deck based off 2 cards kinda impressed me.
You mean, with LILIANA'S ACTIVATION on the stack, right? If Rune-Scarred Demon's trigger is already on the stack, flashing out a Hushwing Gryff won't stop it.
No silly, the Griffen prevented the Rune Scarred Demon’s enter the battlefield trigger from resolving, which would have allowed Dom to tutor for a card.
@@benyseus6325 nope, you have to bring in the Hushwing before the Rune Scarred hits the board. Thankfully the way that Liliana is worded means that Hushwing could come out in response to the targeting of Rune scarred, but if you wait until it etb's, then the trigger still activates.
@@greatbrandini3967 yes exactly that’s what I said he responded to the recursion ability with the Gryff before the demon entered the battlefield. Nope urself.
@@benyseus6325 Muddstah said "with the trigger on the stack", not "with the ability on the stack". Hushwing Griff can't remove an active trigger from the stack. The legal play is to flash in Hushwing Griff in response to the Liliana activation, which is what the OP was pointing out. Hushwing has to be on the battlefield before the demon in order to prevent the ETB. This is usually most relevant regarding tutor to the battlefield effects such as with Birthing Pod. If an opponent Pods out a Rune Scarred Demon, you can't flash in a Hushwing to prevent the ETB. You'd have to cast Hushwing before they even tutor.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but the Monkey cage should have popped on Oracle of Mul Daya? It specifies creature entering the field, but not necessarily your creature. The reprint in Jumpstart 22 says the same text too, so I can't imagine that there is oracle text Im forgetting. If there is something I am missing though, let me know! Don't think it changed much, but my presumed understanding is why I dont play it in my Norin or Kibo deck. It costs a lot when you want to play it a wise player can make it useless before you can play your Kogla or other big creature.
All that Primordials' nonsense was resolved wrong. First, triggers should be put on a stack with appropriate targets, starting from active player and going clockwise, and then they are resolved in the reverse order. So, first Dom chooses targets for all his triggers, then Kevin (knowing about Dom's choices), and so on. The important part is that Primordial changes targeted cards' location, which means if, for example, Dom and Vince targets the same card, then Vince's trigger would resolve first, exiling that card from graveyard and denying Dom the ability to cast it.
They kind of did that. The table made the decision to dumb it down for me so that I could make some sense of editing it in a way that would visually be interesting. Additionally, I abbreviated some of it as well.
To elaborate on what Muddstah said: I explained to the table that it would be resolved in reverse order. So instead of stepping on each others' toes, how about we just have an agreement where we resolve as many spells as possible because it's funner that way.
5:00 Shouldn't Vince be getting 4 2/2 Monkeys, because the monkey cage sees Oracle of Muldaya enter? Oracle text reads "When a creature enters the battlefield" implying that whatever creature is cast next should trigger the Cage
9:29 "The whole table agrees to make a copy of it"
Andrew's sanity while editing this video: "Heh I'm in danger"

@@MTGMuddstah you were able to parse it out well. Sad two of the players died immediately the next turn after all that fiasco happened

This is MADNESS!

IS
EDH~!!! xD

That was a great game. I'm always pleased to see a game that doesn't end in the usual combo pieces.

Wow that Hushwing came in clutch at the end!
I love that "They then resolve 4 copies of Austere Command" is a phrase that he had to say lol
Just what I needed for my bank holiday Monday! Thanks Muddstah! 😁

A friend of mine made a YT vid called Atris' TED Talk, that's pretty much all the fact or fiction cards, and a lot of recursion.
@@iamtigra nice! I'm running a decent amount of recursion too. I haven't had a chance to play it, so I have no clue how it runs, lol
That crazy Diluvian Primordial play was so fun to watch!
What an absolute mad man of a game that was towards the last quarter
That hushwing gryff gave me so much joy.
Omg you posted it haha. Im still sorry for that stack headache. am the atris player
