- This video is a quick possible solution to a bootlooping Iphone X, this is also applicable if you cannot restore you iphone x and just keeps getting stuck in to a loop on startup or stuck at Connect to itunes.
This will need you to open up your iphone to do this.

Man you are amazing!! I tried all types of hard reset and putting into recovery mode like billion times and yet it kep flashing apple logo. My iTunes wouldn’t even detect it across multiple computers. Updated most recent iTunes and computer updates. Yet would not stop looping Apple logo. I tried this exact steps!! Win win win!!! Thank you! This video and a few others covering this process were a lifesaver in saving the files from my XS. Most recent backup was from November 2018 (lesson learned), and I was told by both Apple and my carrier that nothing could be done, but they would happily dispose of my phone. This solution deserves to get much more attention than it currently has

@@kamraanmohammed8658 I’d first try to evaluate via a connection to iTunes that the error is the one suggested in the video. Once you can get it open and the ribbon cable plate removed, try removing the cable which attaches to the proximity sensor and earpiece. Once that is detached, I suggest testing with a proper restart to see if you can get the device to start up. Though Face ID and the ear speaker won’t work, the phone will continue to function if you close up the device with that cable still disconnected. If still broken after the aforementioned steps, then it might be another hardware issue altogether. Good luck!

I spent the day booking in and going in to our nearest Apple Store (80 miles away) because my daughters phone was stuck in the boot loop with error 4013. All the experts said it was junk and a complete write off. She was distraught. Watched your video, hey presto, she gets home from school to a working phone. I cannot thank you enough, from me and her. I thought it would disable the front camera but it hasn’t even done that. Brilliant.

Def had water damage in my phone i paid bout 230 to have it fixed . l didn’t want to lose all my data (wasn’t backed up)..fast forward to last week was stuck in a boot loop..didn’t know what to do ..found this video ..bought a phone kit to take it apart from Best Buy for $20. Did this and it Instantly worked . Couldn’t care less about Face ID front camera i don’t use it anyway.. THANK YOU FOR THIS!. was able to turn it back on to back up everything to my iCloud . I would rather pay 20 than 300 any day.. i will be getting another phone eventually but this just saved my life . Thank you

Had this problem few weeks ago it's water damage usually. I bought the phone off a young fellow, so I own it and I can experiment on it. I will be getting a flex heat plate and removing the sensors and cleaning any corrosion that might be under the sensors.
Also while working with these phones be carefully of the exposed cap on the edge of the board, you can short it out when you have the screen disassembled loosely. It's a memory line that gets shorted if it does ever happen knock the exposed cap off.

THIS IS SUPER HELPFUL!! I'm close to selling my iphone x for a few dollar cause it keeps on rebooting every minute. Now it functions very well but without a face ID and front cam portrait mode, but its totaly fine it's just minor. I SUPER LIKR THIS MAN

Thank you, honestly was a god send. Disconnected everything but the screen cables and batteries and still did it as wondered if my phone charging connector was wet from water damage but just the sensor

Thank you, this was the only video that helped, I was already desperate, all the videos and tips I saw talked about nand repair or something similar, I would spend a lot to fix it, because here in Brazil it is absurdly expensive to maintain iphones.
Cheers, I believe it's a faulty flood illuminator. Which is the on the cable that gets disconnected
I believe that the flood illuminator is directly connected to the cpu and if liquid damage happens to the phone or in the ear piece speakers hole, it causes this boot loop
Apple would like to scrap my phone x for free of charge, I ordered the screen replacement from amazon for $50. 00 and replaced it myself it took me 1 hour to install it and I tried restore the iphone X and it fixed the Error 4013.

I was stuck in the endless bootloop error, everytime I would try to update my iphone would restart and the process would fail. How do you fix an iphone X stuck in recovery mode because of a full storage. It went into a bootloop and then updating failed because of lack of sufficient storage.
Would the phone require to be opened for this issue? What is a possible solution?

I did everything you described. Only problem is it wont register me touching the screen. Screen isn't fully back in yet but all connectors are plugged in
If the two screen flex connectors are clipped in properly then touch won't work.
You may require another screen
Thanks, this helped a lot. My problem got even worse after trying to recover my phone because it would get stuck in a recovery mode bootloop, where i couldnt go back to the normal bootloop, and it would just keep booting into recovery screen mode. Luckily after unplugging the floodlight it worked. My next problem was that the screen wouldn't work, in the sense that it wouldn't register any touches, but it turns out it was because i had swapped my screen before. Thank god I kept my original screen around just so I could start a backup after getting the touch to work again.

Great solution! I had the same issue because the phone has fallen into water. With this solution (leave the face ID part disconnected) everything works again fine except the face ID. Thanks, you saved my day!!

My phone was having the same issue. When I went to an Apple store, I was told that there was a hardware problem that needed to be changed and that I would have to pay the full price. However, I was able to repair it by accident. The issue was straightforward: my phone's storage was full, and the software couldn't manage it. I removed my phone from my icloud account and then restore it. Works well for me.

TheCureThatKillz unfortunately nothing. Had it checked by 2 Best Buy’s and an independent phone repair shop. They all said there’s nothing they can do. Basically, it’s worth spare parts. Apple cannot give an explanation because apple stores are closed and only offer to replace for $599 essentially. It’s BS...
I had the same problem, don't download any weird sketchy software, j follow the steps in this video maybe try a few times, test your phone on several different computers, keep looking for solutions don't give up on your phone
this is the only straight forward video I saw. I have the same problems so I will try to disconnect the sensor when my kit comes in. I will come back to the comments to confirm if this works!
Good luck, with the connector disconnected for the front sensors, fingers crossed it will boot and you can do a full iTunes backup

Erco D i’m glad you asked. so I bought a tool kit. took the phone apart, and it didn’t turn on immediately. but after 500 tries and the flood illuminator being unplugged, i managed to restore my phone through itunes. it failed lots of times but it eventually restored. but i ended up bending the screen and now there’s a green fat line in the middle so I just got a new phone. pain.

Hi Rick , year man it helped me a lot. I have been fooled by putting board over in a new back-body but was not aware off the possibility that the error could be caused by the display module which i alså had moved over from the defective phone.
Will changing this that sensor fix the issue ?

Yes but also the earlier piece speaker won't work for phone calls

I used a hair dryer and pressed lightly on it, instead of soldering it.
FaceId does not work but it starts with the cable pluged in.

Literally, my savior, was about to sell off an iPhone XS Max for $200, turns out it was just the problem in that. On a note, if I were to plug it back in, would it continue to b in the 4013?
If it's reconnected it will crash again,
You will need to the front sensor flex repaired by a local or distant repair shop
(The flood illuminator will be moved to a new flex, the flood illuminator is needed for face I'd)

you can leave it disconnect, it is paired to your phone so replacing it with another wont fix the issue

I had the same problem and disconnecting the cable did help me to get off from the loop. However, the top speaker won't work since the cable got disconnected. Is changing the whole assembly going to help?

So this can fix a boot loop caused by water damage? I’m trying to retrieve my grad photos. I already got a replacement, so I just want to power on the phone to back it up, and restore the backup on my new phone. I was considering taking it in to fix the hardware damage because I realized that it wasn’t a software issue after trying to download software to fix it. I’ve already lost Face ID, I just want to retrieve my data and then turn in the phone 😭
Take the phone to a local phone repair shop, if it's something that only has one shot to get the info I would not recommend DIY

As others have said... Watched sooooo many videos until i found this one.. I got the phone wet and it was in the Apple logo loop... took it apart and cleaned everything... nothing worked until i removed that cable to the face cam... now my phone is back up and running.... now to figure out why the touch screen is not working :) baby steps

HEY! so I had same issue would try n restore it and 4013 error. I cracked her open unplugged and LEFT unplugged the connector to keep the face thing off which I dont want on anyways and it WORKED!!! worked 100% until I tried making a phone call I could talk and they could her me but I cant hear them talking so I assume this cable is the face reader thing AND the ear speaker.... I plugged the wire back in and now phone is stuck in boot loop mode... unplugged it again and its working again but cant hear people talking on calls.... any solution?!??!?!? thanks!!!!!!

hello , i have the same problem , i putted my iphone x into dfu mode to restore it ( because i thought it was a software issue ) but at the finale step it stuck at startup logo and reboot and reboot ... so i want to know which error code that my iphone have and if your method will work with the mine .
Try and reinstall firmware using 3utools
When it errors during a reinstall it actually gives a decent error message
Ricks Tech i reinstalled it using 3utools without any error during installation . After the installation is completed it enter on the bootloop probleme . So ?

if you suspect liquid damage near the ear piece, and you have an iphone x and newer, it would be worth giving this a shot

3utools is my go to, to free up space

Don’t do it. You will most likely break the screen. Huge percentage you will break it because you’re not a tech also you need a full set of special tools and that workaround did nothing on 12 pro max. Instead the screen was damaged. Didn’t have the right tools and then an original replacement was $380 (2023) and aftermarket is &155 and the phone recognized the fale screen reported and void all repairs. The only and easy way was using a software. That did the trick in a matter of minutes.

mine boot loops face id camera and torch is done for. i fell really bad lol. dunno why im laughing because it’s going to cost me dearly! im using it now to type it but it deactivates the camera features i think on boot i cant open camera otherwise it will shut down and boot loop or anything camera related
You would be best to get in contact with a nearby third party phone repairer

It didn't work unfortunately. I will try to charge the battery then redo it.

@@rickstechrepairs it didn't immediately turn on, however, I plugged it up to itunes and it finally restored. I am able to use the phone again. Thank you again for your video and take care!
