For all the Critics, the purposes of a great teacher, is to provide great understanding; not perfection, perfection is up to the individual student to achieve. Mr Daniel is an excellent teacher and if you gain understanding, he did his job extremely well. Stop looking for faults on a 30 minute You tube video. Go Pay a Teacher. Thanks Mr Daniel.

It a nice explanation and especially, teaching the polyrythm is very important. To have hands play smoothly and rythmically correct takes time and lots of practice playing slowly.
A good player will not stress the first or last notes in a bar and avoid any mechanically sounding "beat" if not indicated, but unfold a larger musical picture beyond.

@Amy Nguyen Yes, but simply piano cant really teach you that. I think simply piano should never be used to replace a teacher. I think it is just for you to test if you like playing piano AT MOST. Because a teacher can explain how you play something. This is a mistake I see on a lot of beginners though, they just try to play the right notes and thats just about half of what you have to do. I tried to explain this to my friend but he didn‘t really get it, he said that playing the right notes is all you need to do. Then I just replied that he will notice eventually.
But all in all you are right, harsh tapping always drives me crazy too and indeed, developing the skill to avoid that may take a long time.

You are very impressive pianist. I just wanted to point out a minuscule error for the sake of improvement. The long chromatic scale played by the right hand at 21:18 is a little off at the end around 21:21. Measure 36 of this song starts exactly on the F#5 (the second F# above middle C) about halfway through the chromatic scale and ends on the C#4 (half step above middle C), which is the last note before the left hand comes back in. Every note in this measure is a 16th note; therefore, there should be 16 notes in this measure (including F# and C#). However, you are playing 18 notes (a perfect chromatic scale) the whole time when in reality, the song transitions from a chromatic scale back to a C# minor scale at 21:21. Chopin does this by skipping over the LAST F natural and D natural played in measure 36 which transforms the scale from chromatic to C# minor. However, you played both the F natural and D natural and therefore have two extra notes in that measure.
In order to correct this, you simply need to go straight to the E from the F# (skipping over F natural), then the D#, then straight to the C# (skipping over the D natural), and lastly, continuing with the G# at the beginning of measure 37.
I’m not a hater, and you certainly play this piece better than I play it. I just thought that if I was in your position, I would want someone to correct my mistake. Especially since this is a tutorial, I wouldn’t want anyone else to make the same error. Otherwise, very well done!

Alex Yang yeah, you're absolutely right. He just repeated that sentence many times throughout the video so I kind of joked around with it. No offense to him, this is actually a good tutorial and it helped me a lot

Holy shiz thank you so much I feel so pro despite playing this at about half speed after a week of practice. My piano teacher really underestimates me and I really wanna prove her wrong. I was kinda confused at first because of the weird tempo and polyrhythm but I understand it well now because of you! Ty

To play the four-against-three evenly, I imagine each quadruplet-triplet pair in 12 equal parts with the quadruplet notes on beats 1, 4, 7 and 10 and the triplet notes on beats 1, 5, and 9. Put them together and you get 1, 4-5, 7, 9-10. Simplifying that, it's just "1, 2-and, 3, and-4" with the "and"'s being the second and third beats of the triplets. Once you get through the initial rigmarole, the rhythmic "1, 2-and, 3, and-4" spacing starts to flow pretty naturally and evenly in slow motion and you can just speed it up from there.

On 10 years ago I learn this song when I can't read notation and never have music study at all..
But my father give me a challenge,, if I can learn and play this song well just in a month,, he will give me some money..
So every after I back from school,, I'd learned it by MIDI..
My fingers followed every notes that showed on MIDI player..
At first,, I'd never believe that I'll can do it without study at music school..
But finally,, I can play this song now..
I've learned it without teacher and sheet music at all..

That's so cool. I also learned part of the song by downloading a MIDI file and opening it up in a sequencer and look at the notes and play it very slowly. It was over 10 years ago, before RUclips lol.
