I’ve never heard of this adhesive ‘til I watched your video. I’m hoping it’s gonna work out well for what I’m planning to do, I went out & purchased the bottle that a Michael’s Crafts store close by here had on their shelf. I was impressed as to how well you explained how to use it & why you prefer this over other adhesives.
Thanks for this. I just ordered some of the bottles you use to help with glue application. This has always been a something of a sloppy process, so I look forward to trying out your solution.
@@strhandmadeI have an issue with the clear cement on my stitching line when Inuse the same pliers you have to make holes then is hard to get the needle through and it damages the other side of the leather how do I fix that help? Could it be leather quality?

Thanks Tomas, I will give this glue a try. Been using Barge cement, and although I love how strong it is, it can be very messy as well, not to mention it stinks badly!
I agree with all of Thomas' reasons for preferring water based adhesive over cements. Something he forgot to mention is the SMELL. Leather cement adhesives reek. It takes several days to dissipate. I don't know about you, but my clients always put their noses to my leather goods expecting that 'leather' smell. I would find it counter productive to disappoint them. Additionally, if strength is an issue, crafters should really try roughing out those edges. It binds so much better when you bring the fibers up. Thanks for sharing Thomas.
Good video. Here is a topic you could cover: making leather product can be time consuming. How do you ensure consistency whilst reducing production time?
I couldn't wait any longer and I ordered your Bramble wallet a couple days ago. I was trying to wait until I retired to order one but my cheapo wallet starting coming apart within a couple of months. Looking forward to getting my new wallet from ya and watching more of your vids.
This is like my 5th time watching this video(over the course of a year or so) and i never noticed the parallel pipe tool. Lol wow. Quite a mixture of words but its fittingly accurate. *parallel pipe*
Just got this because my favorite water based glue is out of stock. Rena Aquilim 315. I'm always scared to try anything else but that glue is so easy and effective to use
Fiebings white leather glue is easy to use, but not nearly as strong as other leather cement. I prefer the stronger glue - yes it smells bad when using it, and you really gotta watch out not to get it anywhere you do not want it to be. But mostly i make small parts with the seam being on the outside and i do not want there to be any chance of the 2 parts not sticking to each other. Just my personal preference.
Hey Thomas! Love your channel. I really like that glue as well. It sticks extremely well and dries quick. If I have to glue down a liner that's larger, that's when I use contact cements. I've tried several but never found the perfect one for me. They usually soak in and aren't sticky by the time I glue both pieces and I have to add a 2nd or even 3rd coat. I don't like that. Keep up the great work!
@@fouadgouchi6884 pvc is the glue I sometimes use for wood working. I find that it has similar strength to contact glue. I prefer this glue as it is much easier to rub off when wet compared to contact glue. Except you want your glue to do all the holding together I think PVC glue (wood glue) is quite good.
Which brand of glue would you recommend to fix a little piece of torn leather please? My crumpled sheep leather bag has 1cm torn. I still keep that part of torn leather with me. never fix it. I’m afraid of using the wrong glue and it will get worse. Could you please recommend which brand of glue is the most suitable and durable to fix crumpled sheep leather( if it can stick around 4-5 years or more would be great). I want to avoid applying the glue too many times at the same spot. I’m afraid of thickness if I have to reapply every months or every years
Большое спасибо за очередное видео! Недавно по твоей наводке взял тонный пресс и ручные пробойники, очень доволен и теперь спокоен насчет шума в квартире =)
I agree, it's what I use. It can be used wet to wet then clamped but I like it as a contact adhesive. It's much stronger than his glue and fairly waterproof when dry. I don't know why everyone doesn't use Aquilim.
Best glue EVER I've done side by side comparisons and it sticks really strongly. I'm out and Rocky Mountain is out of stock so trying this stuff out in a pinch 🤞

You are welcome!🐗

Yes its very convenient, just find thin needle to insert when you forget to cork the applicator :D

I was using contact adhesive for months as that's what i was using making my leather strops. I moved over to Fiebings and it changed my life aha
I used barge for my first projects. I got a hold of this fiebings contact cement and I'm excited to try it!
Thanks for helping brother. Love your channel from Brazil. God bless you 💪

Hi Thomas I use fiebings glue before. Now I use Renia water base contact cement for me works better but thas my personal preference love you work.

Ecostick 1816b & 9006 works really wonderful 👌👌👌...fiebings costly & not available in India

Thomas, you could try Renia leather glue :-) waterbased, works like the one your used too. It dosen't smell at all and works well.
Im sure there are lot of great similar glues :) Yes i forgot to mention in video about smell, this glue also odorless.
My favorite glue of all time. I'm out so I ordered this stuff in a pinch. Fingers crossed!

I left a comment on Instagram about a glue tips vid. I guess you already did one. Lol. 🤦. Thank you!!

Nice Man. One question, a hammer will do the same job than the pliers to press leather before putting the clips to the glue to dry?
I suggest use pliers, you can hit and leave marks with hammer.
Is this the same glue we use for wood craft ???
Thank you in advance
You mean pvc glue
I don’t know the exact composition of this glue, but it is very similar to glue you mean
@@AdeToz I meant the white glue we use for wook working

Before i was using AutoCad, but now im using Adobe Illustrator

Those glues work fine, but I found that Aqualim works best, it's like contact cement but no odor.

In order to stick on the top side of leather just rough out the part you want to stick with sandpaper or a blade
I use elmer's glue
Thanks for sharing, hello from Berlin! Can you give fiebings glue link?
Hey! Check google, i bought my big bottle on ebay
Do you deliver to the United States?
Sure, more than a half of my orders go to US🐗
Hi, do you think there is a real difference between white wood glue and white leather glue ? I can't see any.
