🎉 you are the first man I have seen who collects American Girl dolls I have been doing this over 14 years and I am absolutely ecstatic and overwhelmed and thrill to see an adult male collecting and showing American Girl dolls I applaud you and I did subscribe🎉🎉🎉❤🎉❤❤❤
Thank you so much Selena! Most of the doll dudes are into only fashion dolls, but American Girl were the ones I always wanted the most, so here I am haha. It’s nice to meet you! 🩷
Nice video! My daughter and son say the 80’s were the best! Courtney and all her accessories are adorable and little Molly is too! Love that Guinea pig cage! ❤
I'm glad you got some more Courtney items! I loved her stories too! I loved her more too after reading her books! I got my Courtney's ears pierced when I ordered her! She looks so cute with her earrings on! They match her outfits so well! Thanks for another great video and I hope you have a great day!!😁❤️
@@idreamofjonny You are too funny! Glad to find another adult collector with my sense of humor! 😄 Good luck with the move, btw!! You’ll feel amazing once you’re there and unpacked. Just keep thinking of that feeling to get you through it all!! 💪🏻
@@idreamofjonny Moving is always a ton of work!! I’ve moved across state lines but not across the country, so I can only imagine! How soon do you move? I know you’ve mentioned it in a few videos!
I spent my teenage years in the 1980's. I have most of Courtney's collection for my CYO mini me. For accessories, I use the walkman most often. I also use the pink scruchie. The interesting thing about the mini dolls is that the first 5 mini dolls were the first historical dolls (1995), with Molly included in that group and Josefina added with her release in 1997. Courtney's mini Molly was the last mini doll with/for the historical dolls (Nanea was the last mini doll of the character).
Interesting facts! I do prefer the original design with the plastic/glass eyes. They look so cool, I think! It does seem like they're not doing much of the mini dolls anymore unfortunately!
@@idreamofjonny I really wish they would have made a Courtney mini doll but know they won't this late. I want to set up a Christmas scene with Courtney opening her mini Molly (first item I bought of her collection) and my older PC Molly opening a mini Courtney. I think that would be hilarious. Molly saying, "I have no idea what type of doll this is but she's cute."
The only historical I had with pierced ears was Addy, but I recently ordered a customized Nicki Hoffman and decided to get her ears pierced! It just seems more authentic for her and Isabel (and Courtney!) to have their ears pierced!
Oh that's nice! I'm probably being overly critical, but I am so nervous someone will mess my doll up. I heard chapters was no longer gonna carry American Girl? So sad!
As a Guinea pig owner, your comments about Parsley cracked me up 🤣 One of my nicknames for my Guinea pigs is “bug” because of their little “bug eyes” 🤣🤣🤣 I’m happy you decided to have Parsley be a free range Guinea pig 🥰 (Also you were right, those would be wood chips. It’s also known as “bedding” too but it’s just wood shavings you can put in the nugget’s enclosure so it’s nice and comfy for them in their little house) But yeah, I love Courtney’s story too. I did not expect to like her story at all but when I saw she had a Guinea pig too I gave the book a chance and now I love her and get the hype. I’ve definitely been side eyeing her and her collection but the only thing I really have is Parsley (duh.) Can’t put my finger on it but Courtney has a charm about her. It would be fun if you did a reaction to her RUclips Stopmotion movie or even your review of the book to keep the Courtney conversation going 😂🐹
Animal rescue person here; I did bunny and guinea pig rescue for many years- Just know that only kiln dried pine is safe for use with animals. Most pine shavings and all the other wood shavings that you see especially the heavily scented ones, are extremely dangerous and can be outright toxic to small animals. Lots of people use cedar bedding because it's so heavily scented but it's very dangerous for the animal. These days most people know better and we should be using things like CareFresh or other recycled paper bedding.
@@CraftyMagicDollz I use Carefresh with my piggies too 💗🐹💗 Super cool about your animal rescue work by the way! That must have been so rewarding and amazing! 🐹🐹🐹
I’d be interested to know if the notebook paper fits in the binder. Lots of people have said the holes don’t align properly. I haven’t bought that set yet because that would irritate me! 😂😂
Hey Johnny love your videos and yes my Courtney has her ears pieced and the earrings are fun because you can mix n match the color and designs. Do it you will love it. Shekinah from NZ
i relitively recently decided to get maryellen and have been getting alot of her discontinued outfits because ag decided to already discontinue all her coolest outfits. got the last big outfit on my wishlist and now i just need the doll and some of her current items.
I ordered my Courtney online with her ears pierced and I just love the look of the dangle earrings on her, it makes her stand out a bit more compared to my other classic mold dolls in my opinion. I don’t have her headphones though so I don’t know if that would make it more difficult
I wish AG had partnered with Lisa Frank to make more accurate school supplies! The designs could be better. Still, I need this for the Hoffman twins. I definitely had a Lisa Frank trapper keeper/binder in 1998-2000.
I love Courtney! I got her at american girl Columbus when i first ever went. shes my second doll in my collection and McKenna (GOTY 2012) was my first in 2012. Courtney and her collection and story is so so cute!
You're so entertaining as usual, I always enjoy your content. I think you should get another Courtney to do extra creative styles on it, like piercing the ears etc. Keep the one you have now as original as possible like your PC collections. I do believe it will get popular and a gotta have...years from now. Next is that I think it would be cool if someone was to have an AG doll dress like Kelly from Save by the Bell as a tribute to the show. I used to watch Save by the Bell too and had no idea that Courtney's sweater resembles Kelly's sweater on the show. Overall, your collection is fantastic! Someday, I will continue getting my Courtney's collection based on the pieces I had growing up as well.
I love pierced ears on American Girl dolls. I purchased some of Courtney's clothing today. My favorite item is the Black Blazer with the hot pink flower.
im a kid of the 1980’s … & they nailed her items!!!💕even the Guinea pig lol they were big pets in 80’s i wished they did have more books with the series 🙏💁♀️
The scruntchies were when she was style of the month at the salon. My daughter got them after we put the hair style on another doll. Did you find the promo leg warmers?
Courtney is amazing, I never got the doll but I got a few of her outfits and I love them! Your video is definitely making me want to buy the doll. 🙈😂😊✨
I used a hot sewing needle (the size of the stud) held with plyers to pierce my dolls ears. First I marked with a pencil, studied it for good/even placement then did it. It worked really well for me. Parsley is really cute but the cage is to small, poor guinea pig anxiety, years of therapy.
I love Courtney! I have my nice new doll and when i see her second hand i have bought her again! Its easy to fix her hair. Number 3 is coming tomorrow!
Im both sad and relieved the playable arcade game you can bundle with her is sold out bc the temptation to buy it is gone now XD I recently found your channel and I love you
This may be a little late but I want to know how that pink coat fits over Courtney's hands. I didn't have Courtney at the time that I bought it but liked her outfits so much that I bought several of them. Not sure which doll I tried it on (may have been a PC one) but only the left arm is tight. I haven't measured any of their hands yet but finding this common (with mittens too) so I think the left hand is slightly wider (thumb) than the right hand. Making clothing harder to get on the left hand. Anyone else find this to be true ?
In my opinion, piercing modern dolls with earrings adds value, but the value would be added more so if the piercings actually look nice and not lopsided haha. Courtney has accessories for her specifically for earrings, so I think that it just makes sense to want that. However, I don't own Courtney yet, but I own several of her items hahaha. I do want to get Courtney but I was planning on waiting to actually go to an AG store to hand pick her. There, I was gonna have them do her ear piercings cause I don't wanna handle that anxiety with a new dollie LOL. I would hope going to the store and having them pierce her in person would mean a quality piercing! I did get Courtney's Molly, and I'm obsessed with the little catelog. If you have the actual catalog and compare them in a video I would watch it 😂 I think she has a lot of great details that just don't come with the modern mini dolls.
All modern dolls should be safe to pierce ears on from a value point of view. AG should just do it for free. LOL Another way for them to get our money. I have had Courtney all along and you make me want to play with her more.
Jonny you’re SO WRONG about the skirt and suspenders. I had that exact outfit as a tween in 1984, except it was red and yellow; I was so proud of wearing it because my parents didn’t buy much new clothes for me at all (we weren’t poor, they were just neglectful as typical boomer parents are known to be). I have a picture of me proudly wearing it next to my beloved grandma, when we visited them for Easter that year.
Courtney has grown on me SO MUCH and it's mainly thanks to your enthusiasm!
Tell American Girl that so they’ll start sending me free stuff!! 🤣
If they were going to make a 1986 Molly, they should have made her with a white body.
I know! There are quite a few inaccuracies!
Mini Molly should have a cloth body. She’s all plastic /vinyl.

How do you maintain Courtney’s hair? I really like her esthetic and the 80’s, but I’m so afraid of her hair!
I substituted a TM 39. My doll is both for play and display.

My son is in 3rd grade and he begged for a pencil case like that this year - they’re very much “in” with the elementary crowd
I love the Pierced ears. I am always happy to get a second hand doll with pierced ears. Really dresses Courtney up with her earrings
I have some older mini dolls Samantha, Kirsten and joesafina. Sam and Kirsten have pie bangs
If you like Courtney that much, you should buy another one and pierce her ears. That way, you can display more of her outfits and accessories.
I'm thinking about getting different truly me dolls to be her friends! Definitely gonna have to get some ears pierced!

I love Courtney bc I was born in 85! I think they could have collaborated with Lisa Frank like they did for Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears
I collect vintage 18 inch fashion dolls like Aimee, miss revlon and crissy. I to cure my depression with shopping. ❤❤❤
If AG pierces ears, it's OK to pierce yourself. You are right, that might not be a good on the older dolls. The newer dolls, absolutely!
I definitely want to do it when I have some spare time! I love the way the earrings look!
I kind of love when you nit-pick! Enjoyed the video!
*trauma shop bonding* 🎉😂 same tho , same
I was 💯 a Madonna girl!
I saw her in concert over 20 years ago!!!
I think if AG got the okay for Lisa Frank for school supplies it would have cost an arm and a leg
