Is it okay to get a tattoo while pregnant?

You asked a question about getting a tattoo while pregnant. And the best advice I have for you is to get one at your own risk, because there are risks associated with getting tattoos, and pregnancy isn't really the time to take extra risks, because if you were to catch a blood-born illness, it wouldn't only affect you, it could also potentially affect your unborn baby, or they could contract it during the labor and delivery process. And so I would say wait until after you've had the baby just so that it reduces the risk that you and your baby would be exposed to.
If and when you decide to get a tattoo, be sure that you know the cleanliness practices that the tattoo parlor and artist are following, that they have strict guidelines that they follow about cleanliness so it reduces your chances of getting blood-born pathogens and other infections. I hate this kind of “advice”. No facts to back up either way. Just, “err on the side of caution”. By 90% of pregnancy “advice” we shouldn’t even leave the house for risk of getting stung by a bee. It’s enraging.

@@RainbowSun96 Even after all that, I'd say just wait. Its not that long to wait, even though it feels like it! I waited, and have now gotten 3 tattoos while breastfeeding in 4 months lol. But, I did get a tattoo when I was a few weeks pregnant, obviously before I knew.
