It also helps to know a little spanish to negotiate if you are a forienger, otherwise the taxi & moto will try their luck on charging you extra. Lol

I have taken Ceribe tour and Metro buses back in 2007 and 2008, I found that Metro are much better than Caribe tour buses. I took a motorconcho in Sosua and I was so scare that the driver was going to crash , I never took one ever again. I rented an SUV in 2019 to go from Santiago to Nagua, it wasn't bad except driving through San Francisco de Macoris.

I am also in DR, there is a vehicle rental platform at very good prices, I use it for when I want to travel to the interior, it's called Uworktify, I recommend it!

Great info! I usually use Uber to avoid being overcharged. I didn't know about DiDi. If you haven't already, you should do a video on if you have dual citizenship what is the process to get one. And also what are your US tax obligations and RD tax obligations and any other fees to transition to the RD.

In Santiago Uber was really affordable .. took about 200 to 350 pesos depending on peak hours from the suburbs to the city center .. in Europe the price would've been up to 10 times higher for the same ride in that traffic madness :))
What would you say to someone who wants to rent a motorcycle or scooter, someone who has never been in Dominican traffic before ?! :)))

Great video. Have question concerning Uber. Heard that many Uber drivers don't like credit card payments and refused to pickup or ask persons to pay in cash. Just wanted to get your take on Uber because I normally don't travel with cash. Thanks.
I've addressed this in a previous video ruclips.net/video/VcC1JYm52B4/видео.html But some Uber driver do want cash. But I found this to be true when traveling to the and from the airport. Here in the city we've never had that issue.

Depends on what you are looking for. Zona Colonial is tourisy and Piantini is more authentic Dominican vibe.

yeah, thats the trick..I always pay for the front seat to my destination. & throw them a few extra pesos to take me to the front door if no one else in the car.

Hello Norberis, great information! I usually rent a car when I’m in the DR, although your friend Russel Taylor(Taylor Made Dreams) advices against it largely due to the dangers of driving around motto conchos 😧. What’s disturbing to me is that your country allows people to carry kids and babies on those motorcycles without helmets!! It’s soooo unsafe. In addition to that, there are no rules or requirements to wear safety belts and place babies in car seats when traveling in a car! The studies and research shows how those safety measures save lives, but it is as if your country doesn’t care about the citizens. My wife is from your country and every time we rent a car, there are always arguments because she still wants to live in the past...even though she knows the importance of safety now that she’s been living in the USA for three years! She even has her Maryland drivers license!! So she should know better!! I told her that if we had a child, there is no way in hell I would let her take our child to the DR without me! What’s your opinion??
Well I honestly don't have an opinion, I think people should do what's best for them and their situation. They do enforce seat belts and helmets but people still do what they want. And babies being killed in motorcycle accidents is not something I heard of being a concern. Of course kids have been killed in normal accident but inparticular motorcycles is not thing. Well I won't get into countries not caring about its citizens because if you are a black man in the US that's the last thing you should mention...lol! Because I don't see any red carpets rolled out for Black American men in the US..lol.

The best way is taking the public buss is one call Caribe Tours my recommendation is to check their schedule and routes that they have.
