If you are low on hp you could use characters imprints who increases Fenne's HP (hp% or flat hp). Make sure that they die by the first attack though

every build i’ve seen showcased has been at 100% crit, does her s2 not give her a 30% extra crit chance? is there a mechanic that prevents her s2?

no, the 30% is included in the stats. that 100% includes the 30% that is given from s2
