I love your lectures. At 20:55, isn't it glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) that converts glutamate to GABA? Pyridoxal 5' phosphate B6 is a cofactor. GABA only differs from glutamate by one carboxyl group. Hey, I'm just some formerly homeless guy w/no special training or degrees, and it's a small detail, but I do like neurology. This plays a key role in anxiety disorders as well as neurodegenerative conditions. I don't know how you find time to produce so many great videos. Thanks.

Dear Zack, this was a great video, thanks. But for the microglia part they are not differentiated from monocytes. Instead very early during development they originate from progenitor cells which are called early myeloid progenitors (EMPs). EMPs migrate to the brain and following closure of BBB they remain in the CNS and become microglia. Anyway, you're the best teacher ever!!!

I can't understand any of it?" That happens to me less and less as I replace them with better friends. Such as those with more oligodendrocytes. I mean I can follow you, but I know about these things. I picked up a few new bits of info, thank you for that. I look forward to finishing the second half later on.
