Great vlog of York. We stayed there several years ago on our way up to Ripon in our narrowboat. Its a squeeze through the locks in a 60 footer on the Ripon canal but we just made it, your 62 footer has no chance! I remember that ice cream boat, it has its own designated mooring. York is a gem, maybe you should put that in your future cruising plans, it's well worth the effort.
Hi Marina Myles and friends, you know Myles a boat with a steering wheel really should have a rudder indicator so you know where the rudder is ,I personally still would like the tiller what about you ,looks like you are having fun being driven around in a convertible,it’s been a interesting blog something different this time ,till next time take care keep yourself safe,John 🥂🌹👀🙏😂🧸,lots of love to you both
Well guys how nice for u to be on the widebeam again such a lovely boat, the shot of the sun set and lovely view through the port hole was excellent. York is a great place to visit thank u for sharing with us 🙂👍. xx💜
Thanks for this video. It reminds me of my trip to York 6 years ago. I was in many places you covered. Loved The Shambles and walking along the old city walls. Loveliest city I visited. Would love to return one day! Brenda from USA
I grew up on the Lincs/Yorks border, so know York well. I'm now in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, so imagine our surprise when we saw your auto subtitles say Kuala Lumpur instead of York!
I really loved this vlog, Bails is a beautiful boat, but I still like Alba. The good thing with narrow boats over wide beams is you can get anywhere on the canal network, you can’t in a wide beam. I loved the tour of beautiful York too, all of the talk of chocolate has made me go and make a drinking chocolate. It’s lovely to see you both again, take care, both of you. X
Loved this video. We can remember when you first visited them. Such a gorgeous boat. We are looking to buy a widebeam, we also live in Yorkshire. We do thought just want to continues cruse. Do you think have a tiller is easier. York is a magical place.
Hi Caroline, it's hard to say as we are not used to driving with the wheel. We are used to the tiller and think it's easier but it might be a lack of practice? so not 100% sure 💜 xx
Hi chester wall are the largest and intact walls in the North has it complete a full circle York walls have lot of breaks in the walls according to Mr google
Hi, Myles & Marina! I have just binged your entire playlist, I have been considering buying a narrowboat to live on and your journey as convinced me! Much love to you both! I was recently in York, did you visit the Ghost merchants store? its such a beautiful city!
@@CruisingAlba we queued to go in and I think the wait was about half an hour. It was a cute experience and my little ghost sits on my desk haha hopefully one day soon on my own narrowboat!
Wonderful vlog guys. I live not far from York. I’d have loved to have bumped into you there. How was the boat with using a bow thruster? Very different to Alba I guess. Phil ❤️
Hi Phil, the bow thruster is a must on a widebeam, especially on the river. On a narrowboat though with two crew we can manage just fine. Thanks for watching 💜 xx
you should never stick your arm out like that because had there been another vehicle behind you the driver would have thought you was going to turn left, because that is an old fashion way of indicating and is still used by drivers today if their indicators suddenly stopped working
It was true pleasure!!! So much interesting info and views❤️
Thank you loved the views of York.
York is so nice, would like to visit it one day and just walk around taking it in.
Thanks for the video…that is a nice boat 🛥… stay safe and take care !!

Hi Brenda, glad you managed to see it in real life too, what a lovely place 💜
York looks beautiful but maybe a bit touristy as well. Lovely Vlog. Bails looks comfy. Pretty boat!
Thanks for watching Jayne. After living in london for over 10 years i don't notice anymore! It has a lovely atmosphere! 💜 xx
It’s great to see Bail’s again 👍❤️

I have walked those walls. Been in that huge church as well.
Thanks for watching lovley 💜 xx
Wiki mentions reads that York Minister is the second largest gothic church in Northern Europe. St Mary’s in Gdańsk May be larger
Thanks I'll check my sources 💜 xx

No we've not been inside! The queue was ridiculous haha Is it worth going in? Thank you for watching all our videos, legend! 💜 xx

Loved it. How is your family? Hope all are safe.
Hi John, thanks for asking, all is well 💜 xx
York is beautiful. I spent a wonderfully romantic weekend there with my late husband and we walked the City walls. Have you ever visited Norwich?
Yes I have about 17 years ago, would love to go back! 💜 xx
Loved it
Thanks for watching Jackie and for taking the time to leave us your comment 💜 xx
Are widebeams ok to manage single handed??
Great vlog. Would u consider a widebeam in the future ? Best wishes
Hi Trevor, in a really really far and distant one perhaps 💜 xx
@@CruisingAlba must admit I’d love the space but my love is for the narrow canals. Decisions 😆

Numero uno
Thanks for watching Dale 💜 xx
Two things I cannot stand, sugar in tea and ‘obese’ narrowboats!

Thanks for the tip Anthony 💜 xx
What a lovely trip.. York looks like a great place to visit… or live💜
It really is! Thanks for watching Lynda 💜 xx
